Dragging out this case is a coping mechanism for me. If I busted the entire case on the first night I would be out buying more with money I want to spend on HOF autos and 1969 Topps. If I can make thru the weekend, then sort and trade next week, I should be past the fever to bust more Heritage wax..... I think.

How were the 14 card jumbo packs? I saw them as well at a Target in Ohio.

I do not want to be a hater. I love Heritage. I love 1961 Topps. It is the first old set I started to seriously build. But when it comes to Topps, all I have to say is, "Hate. Hate. Hate."

This set sucks for set builders like me. Do I really care if Topps decided to changes the colors on a few cards and put them in one box in 1,000? Well, except for one Walmart blaster that will be loaded with them. Do I need 45 copies of 15 different Babe Ruth cards? I have bought six hobby boxes and pulled at least 100 damaged cards. Why do I have to take the time to write a letter to Topps to explain that I paid retail for beat up cards?

Here is the best stuff I've pulled from half a case.

I don't even know what the 7734 this is. Why is it in Heritage?



I got two buybacks. I actually need the Lopez for my '61 set, but I would not put that crap in my set.



I do like the Dice Game cards. Topps should have stuck with this and variations that showcased the '61 release.



What is this? I really can't stand GU cards. I have just come to accept them as a set builder.

Well Stant, I just don't know if anyone could say it better. Every year we hear this stuff, see the gimmicks, and wish for a better effort by Topps. In the bottom end, we are all a bunch of addicts who keep coming back for our fix no matter if the set immproves or not. Like yourself, most of us collect the original sets and or collected these sets as kids. Just sell the crap you don't want and try not to be a hater...

I bought 5 boxes this year by far the most for me ever and I will probably do a retail one and some racks. I have opened 4 of the boxes so far. I think I've gotten 3 black bordered refractors, and 2 dice game variations. No SSPs as of yet, but I didn't look that close. I am going to try to get box #5 opened tonight and scan in my hits. But tax season is here and I am swamped.

Good to see you on the boards, you actually did pretty well with that Tris. Those are VERY hard to pull.....sure the card has nothing to do with heritage, but should
recoup you some money. Remember the good old days when you could put a Maz auto? Anyways, I haven't hit any Pirates yet but if I do they are yours. Hope to
trade with you again.

Matt...Likewise any Rangers I pull you have first dibs. Did pull a stamp card that has Kinsler on it and I still have a few nice Andrus cards.


I think the main problem with heritage in 2010, is that there was once heritage in 2001 and 2003 and collectors remember those days. This is even further
irrated by knowing every other product out there is delivering multiple autos per box. Is topps taking advantage of long time collectors.....yeah I think, but as
someone said above, we are junkies. I enjoy most the trades and seeing what other people pull. Kinda like I pull the card myself.

jm, I'll gladly trade you 5 or 6 chromes for the black, but it would be an unfair trade. They can go for a good amount in that they are pretty rare.

That all depends on who the autos is.

Fantastic pull babbybull! As a Cardinals fan that is awesome, the only Cardinals related hit out of my cases was a Stan Musial stadium seat. If you decide you want to part with it let me know.

I only went to one store and they only had 5 packs. I got there as the guy was opening his crate of cards. There was no box of these, just the loose ones I picked up as he was taking stuff out of the box. I never even let them hitthe rack.Five packs equaled 3 SP's and a GU, not bad for those. Still, $5.00 a pack is a bit pricey.
