I know I don't have to tell you vets this, seeing as timing is as big a part of making money from collecting as supply & demand, but -- for those that might have socked away some A&G hits: check out the completed auctions for Jonathan Papelbon A&G auto'd cards on eBay.

We were pulling these cards in August, mildly lamenting that they barely fetched $10.

Now, the Paps is a rock star thanks to the 2007 ALCS, and the same card is getting $40 to $50.

I've got one in my binder, and I'm keeping it. But I thought I might throw a heads-up out there to people that might want to cash-in on the sudden fame and use the money to get a good meal or trade-up to a "better" card.

Target on the less-traveled side of town had half a retail box sitting out. Looking it over, I noticed that all of the "fat" packs were missing. Yep, someone probably bought 'em all up figuring they'd get the hit in the box and eat the Dick Perez sketches. Hope they got something decent, though we all know they pulled another Scott Rolen jersey relic.

Works for me. That means all of the other packs had a short print in them. I only bought three, wanting something to rip in the car. Didn't get anything major, apart from the three short prints and a Portugal flag.

Still, it amuses me that someone tried to cherry pick a box of A&G retail. Maybe they're Dick Perez's biggest fan?

Why did they use the exact same holder for the auto cards as they do the game used cards, you can seen the cut out that is suppose to be there for the jersey piece, does not look right for the auto cards, IMO.

If anyone is intetested in filling 2006 A&G holes, without having to buy 200 dollar boxes of A&G, let me know. I still have
quite a selection of 2006. Of course heritage also. I usually sell from thrid book to 40%, and of course trade in autos
is always welcome, as I will trade above book for autos
