    I've posted my "backwards 4" pattern before, but that and the 2-euro above are the only Frenchies I have pix uploaded for, at the moment. (Aside from some undated jetons).

    OK, I'll take that as "Italian States or 1848".

    Don't have any 1848s, so here's Italian States, and a picture far worse than yours.

    Italian States (Naples & Sicily), 8 tornesi, 1797.

    1799 or Bust dollar, huh?

    Well, I don't have a Bust dollar. I don't have any 1799-dated coins of my own to show at the moment, either, but here is one I watched come out of the ground. It's my hand in the picture, examining the coin just after Tim Buck ("phut" on the forums) found it. He visited here last year and we went out detecting.

    It is a 1799 Spanish Colonial (Mexico City) half-real piece. The date is a bit beat-up, but it's a 1799.
