    Honestly? I did not know what he meant by that (I'm not kidding!) - it was a vague statement, and I didn't realize that Wang was pitching that night. The last thing I want to do is kick a team when its down.

    But, the friendly rivalry will indeed continue - all season long! image

    I get the feeling that Wily Mo will only be successful when he gets some regular at bats. Pinch hitting doesn't seem to suit him as well as a couple games in a row do.

    I like that the Sox keep finding ways to come from behind and win these games. It's good to see different guys contributing to those wins too.

    Oh well just another game where we gave Wakefield NO FREAKING RUN SUPPORT!!!!!!!! No big deal, we got the rubber match tommorow, lets plate some runs and smash the Yankee pitching!!

    Hey,

    Say what you want about Igawa but today he was better then the Red Sox. He shut them down. I think it was more Igawa pitching very well then the Sox hitters not coming through. I am not saying anything more then that .... but TODAY at a time of DIRE need Igawa saved the day and his first notch in his belt image

    Igawa did pitch surprisingly well - it was fortunate for the Yanks that he pitched the game, and not Karstens (who the Red Sox hit pretty hard last weekend). But, here is your actual final score of Saturday's game -

    YANKEES + BRUCE FROEMMING 3, RED SOX 1

    No way did Crisp look at strike 3 in the 8th inning, in fact, only one of the pitches Farnsworth threw was actually a strike. But Froemming, who squeezed the strike zone on Wakefield all game but gave Igawa many calls out of the strike zone, was intent on punching Crisp out for some reason. Still, the offense should have come up with a few more runs, but Froemming seemed to have a pin-striped shirt on under his chest protector.

    Let me put it this way. The sox are 16-8 a certainly look strong enough to keep playing 16-8 ball for the forseeable future. Stretch that out to 162 games and you are looking at 105 plus wins. So, I am NOT saying this will happen but they are certainly capable. That leaves a really really steep up hill battle for the Yanks to shoot for a division title. At this point there are the Red Sox and everybody else in the East.

    Paul, I don't want to hear your PC crap about the Orioles, Devil Rays, and Blue Jays being a part of this also ..... please..... NONE of these teams including the Yanks are seemingly solid from top to bottom like the Sox ...... especially PITCHING wise.

    Ask me at Memorial Day or so what I really think is going to happen image
