    Arny,

I'd say that Atlee is a definite 9!

It's a very tough one ... good luck!

Well, my 1/2 set arrived that I purchased on eBay not too long ago. And, out of 4 toughies that I needed, I pulled 2 decent ones. Do the Ashby and Darwin have shots at 9s? I think that the Darwin has a better shot, but I might send both. That Vance Law has decent centering for that card, wonder if it has a shot at a 10? Probably a 9, but still a tough one. The Griffin and Nunez have the usual wacky centering image

Arny, I sent in a submission of 84 Donruss last week. It has not been logged in yet. Looks like they are backed up. If they are backed up on the logging then the grading will surely not be fast. Hopefully I will be able to say all good things are worth waiting for.

I just bought a really cool near set in pages / binder from Julen (missing eleven, but with some PSA guys and 1500 dupes). The 1984 Donruss is one of the most beautiful sets ever. My other favorite is the 1956 Topps but I wasn't collecting then! image

Does anyone have some extras lying around to trade or sell to fill my set? I am not being picky on centering as long as the cards are sharp.

    Thanks,

    John

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Looks like someone could flip this and possibly make some coin. That is IF it comes back a PSA 10.

Congrats on the Pop 1 Bunker and the great grades. I am still waiting on my sub that has some 84 Donruss including three
    that are still Pop 0.

There are many nice grades there. You are probably not thrilled with the 8's, but that is a very high percentage of 10's for your submission. Congratulations on those. Like Piman said, that pop 1 of Dravecky should feel very nice. You also have several 9's that have some fairly low pops. Nice job on those.

Wow, the elusive Dravecky 10! Nice one!

I just picked up some raw low pop cards that I'll be posting in the next day or so. A couple of toughies that look like they have a shot at a 10 if not at least a 9. image

I'd just like to say for the record that as a Dodgers fan I am eternally disgusted that Mike Scioscia wasn't ncluded in the beautiful '84 Donruss set. So he played in just a dozen games in '83 due to a bum rotator cuff but still, what gives? Talk about a huge ass hole in his baseball card career...to play through the '80's and not get an '84 Donruss card sucks.

    sigh.

VinScully, I'm definitely not happy about not having the best defensive catcher of the '80s represented on the best set of the '80s. image

By the way, SSS has a bunch of PSA cards listed on eBay. I picked up a PSA 9 Hammaker and there are lots of cheap PSA 9s and some low pop 10s with the option to send an offer. Get out there and get them guys! image

I've picked up a few upgrades of some cards including the Larry Parrish DK STEELE PSA 9 (upgraded my 8) and a few 10s here and there. Anyone else picked up anything good lately?

    Hey guys,

If anyone is interested, I have a 1984 Donruss in a binder with plastic pages set that is missing 79 cards. Mattingly is missing, but Strawberry, Ryan, Joe Carter Rookie, Eddie Murray, Yount, Rice, Winfield, Brett, Henderson, Carter, Reggie, Ozzie, Rose, Garvey, Murphy, Van Slyke rookie, Dawson, Cal RIpken Carlton, Niekro, Jenkinds, Foster, Gwynn, Carew, Goose, Perez, Palmer, Eck, and the SD Chicken are ALL HERE. The cards are in nm-mt or better, with many cards that would grade a straight psa 9. If anyone is looking for a starter set of sharp, sharp 84s, PM me. They are yours for $35 delivered.

OR, I would trade for psa 9 70s stars, or anything else that catches my eye.

I did not get a chance to list the PSA 10's...I was planning on them starting this past Sunday, but family time took me away from my cards. I hope to try again this sunday.

    Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to the PSA thing, but I was an avid collecter from about 1980 to 1990 and amassed quite a collection over that time. My absolute favorite set of the 80's was and is the 84 Donruss, which I guess is why I gravitated to this threadimage

Anyway, I'm selling off most of my collection and have just recently got my first lot of about 100 cards back from PSA. I've got other hobies now that need funding, so I'm only keeping select cards of my favorite players.

Now to my main point... in this submission, I received four 84-D PSA 10's: Mattingly (yeah!), Rose, Henderson, and Boggs. I also got a Nolan Ryan 9, although I can't for the life of me see any difference between that and the 10's. I will likely be listing these on ebay over the next few weeks, so I wanted to give you guys a heads-up to see if you were interested in any of them. I've been tracking on ebay and of those four 10's I've only seen the Mattingly listed recently... going for just over $500. I've also got probably a couple thousand 84-D commons, but they're in storage down in CA right now. I may just have to get those sent up to me before I go down there in August.

    Anyway, PM with your interests...
    Thanks!

Just wanted to stop by and let everyone know I just started this set...my first PSA Registry set. Under the BKC Collection and figure this will be a work in progress.

Other than eBay and traders are there any other good sites to buy PSA 84 Donruss.

Thanks and look forward to this new venture

As much as I love this set my wife lost her job on Friday due to budget cuts

I am hoping to sell the set as one lot.

I am going to offer the cards here first, as I would rather sell them to a board member, but if not I will list them on ebay Sunday night. There is a total of 91 different cards:

    PSA 10

    8 Steel (Pop 1), 49 (pop 6), 54, 57, 62 (pop 7), 63, 64, 65 (pop4), 66, 71 ( pop 9), 129 (pop 8), 130 (pop 6), 144, 145, 243, 251 (pop 6), 282 (pop 3), 306, 324, 344 (pop 8), 357, 365, 395 (pop 8)

    PSA 9

    14, 29(29 on back Pop 4/1), 35, 40, 53, 59, 60, 72, 73, 79, 80, 87, 98, 101, 113, 114, 122, 123, 131, 133, 152 (only 3 higher), 157 (only 2 higher), 162, 193 (only 2 higher), 244 (only 3 higher), 248, 255, 256 (only 3 higher), 270, 280, 283, 288, 295, 309, 311, 312, 318, 327, 338, 340, 343, 347, 348, 356, 358, 362 (only 1 higher), 386 (only 1 higher), 393, 405, 424, 431, 433, 460, 500, 525, 577, 599, 648

    PSA 8

    50, 115, 116, 117, 128 (only 6 higher), 177, 346, 379, NNOB Stenhouse, CL 1-26 (pop 10 with 4 higher and no 10's)

    Extra's

    #57 PSA 7 (reggie Jackson), #71 PSA 9, #122 PSA 9, #122 PSA 8

There are a total of 95 cards counting the 4 extra's. The SMR is $1,244 and I know I will not get close to that. I am only using it as a reference. If anyone is interested please send me a PM. Hopefully I will get an offer I can't refuse

If not I am going to roll the dice and list them on ebay with a .99 start and no reserve.

    Thanks!
