I went to different Walmarts and scored at both...3 at one and 4 at the other. The best pull is a GU Barry Zito. I also got 3 chromes and 2 refractors.

I was able to finish off a basic set, but I have not checked for the SP's yet.

    Anyways, got 1 box.

    Pulled:
    2 NAP

went to see the wife at target tonite and they were stocked up nicely on the normal '07 Topps. I picked up a box of those until I saw a box of the Heritage cards. I didn't get anything outrageous in it. A couple of chrome? cards, some special Arod card, and a nice batch of stars.

ahhhhh..there is nothing like slow ripping these beauties. Opening the box, stacking the packs. Opening them slowly. Sorting
by 100's, SP's in one stack, inserts in another, top loads waiting for chromes and the sort. Screw down near by just in case.
Once the wife gets home, Im headed out to Walmart.

447,456 (kind of split between listing what I have and what I need in the SPs)

I will trade blood for the above or anything that you see in my trade list. I have chromes that are earmarked for Geordie, but anything that he doesn't need and the 3 Refractors (81, 19, 108) are also available.

My eyes are starting to go a little crossed with all this right now. I also will say that I picked up the entire retail box from a local target and the QC was miserable on about 5 packs. 4 cards out of those 5 packs were miscut almost to the point of overlaping over into the other card. Not sure if they dump the crap into the retail or not, but thought I would share that bit of misfortune on my part .

    Thanks

WOW, drove 30 total miles looking for heritage tonight. Thats 3 walmarts...I only found garbage and some weird smell. I finish up
by going to the walmart next to my house and BAM...three huge boxes from beckett...their distributor...I ask the manager to
open one and she does.......its like 40 boxes of 07 topps......then I ask about the others and she says she needs to wait for the
    rep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

2 hours and 30 miles and Im looking at two boxes that most likely have sweet heritage in them and I can't get to them cause of
some late night manager......wait for the rep??????????

Needless to say Ill be back in the morning where I will take matters into my own hands!

OK, regarding the Swisher situation: what is the consensus on how we're treating each card? bold print = SP and light font = yellow team variation, or the other way around? Has anyone heard anything official from Topps?

    Geordie

p.s. - I blew into my local Target and scored a few blasters. Pulled a mess o' SPs and a black Brad Ausmus. No ink image

I have multiple Bold and no thin so my guess would be that the thin is the SP.

    excuse my ignorance....

    what is "SP"?

  • Options
SP is a "short print." Not as many of those cards were printed as most cards, which are common and called "base" cards.

As for difference between th yellow and short print Swisher called, I sent an email to Topps requesting a decison.

SP stands for short Print. Usually by this time there are lists available identifying SP's and variations. This year has been a little differnt. I have not seen"the list." I believe the rate is about 1 SP per two packs.

I have all the SP's and variations set up so that when you print it everything is on one page. It makes it a lot easier to read. If you want a copy you can email me at bunker9603@aol.com

Thats the problem this year. I have not located a list of the SP's. Beckett online says their checklist will be available on March 21. In the past there have been players with the same card number with diffrent pictures, diffrent color bacgrounds, etc. This year I just don't know. Topps has not released anything as of now. Ebay can provide info if you take the time to write down the SP numbers listed. How they know whhich cards qualify as SP's is beyound me. I just purchased a complete set of Yellow players and team variations there. This is a total of 33 variations. These yellow variations are the SP's, the normal card has white lettering. Previously ranges of cards, say 400-480 would be SP's, however two years ago, Heritage took a 100 card range and peppered about 85 (estimate) cards as short prints in that group. Some of the guys here have a good idea of what is out there. Numerous requests from several here have been made. We just got to wait until someone responds with their lists, and they will. Good luck...

Went to Target this morning and picked up 7 retail (Blaster) boxes. 3rd pack of the 4th box gave me an auto of Harding Peterson. Interested parties feel free to let me know.

As I love the 58 All Stars I am hooked on these and I will probably go for the refractor set for the All Stars only. Unless I decide to go Black Border! No black border yet, but did get a Wright Refractor.
    Looking for 77 cloth 9s and 10s.
    54 Red Hearts
    and now 64 Stand ups

I'm a little confused about something. I sorted out the yellow team name and yellow name cards from my box. When I got to David Eckstein (#8) i noticed mine had had a yellow team name and yellow name. So I thought that was interesting. Then I found 2-#60 Preston Wilson's. One has yellow-yellow combo like the Eckstein, the other white name w/yellow team name.
So I thought there must be other combo's of each card. I checked on ebay and couldn't find any. So then I thought maybe all the Cardinals cards had yellow team names. This wasn't true either.
Does anyone know if there are more then 2 combo's of these and other cards?

Folks, after a retail case bust here are my top cards.

    Willie Aybar is #04/58
    Robinson Cano #22/58
    Chris Narveson #47/58

All are available for purchase or trade. For trade, I'm looking to build a normal chrome set. Still not sure what sp's i need but i need a jeter (#5) for sure.

Otherwise I'll let the vultures on ebay grab them.

I just ripped 7 blaster boxes and didn't get a single Black. 3 of the lovely Arod cards, but no blacks. I will be heading out later today to pick up another 10-15 Blasters, so i will let you know if the theory on the Blacks is true later.

What is the deal with #58 Nick Swisher? I have not seen a white letter version. Am I just not looking hard enough. Here are two that are slightly different. Is that a variation? If so, that is cr@p.

Finished three boxes from blowout. Overall I am happy. Recieved the following:

GU-3: two jersies and 1 bat
    Auto-Blue Ink: Dave Melton
    New Age-6
    Flas B-2
    N & T-4
    ARod-3
    Mantle HR-11
    1 of 558-1(Yankees Team)
    1 of 1958-7

A fair amount of SP's I guess and a good selection of cards for the set. I still need 110 cards to complete my set plus some yellow variations as well. Probably need another 20-25 of those, but since I bought the complete set of 33, I didn't bother counting.
    CURRENT PROJECTS IN WORK:
To be honest, no direction, but...

Arch, That is the variation... one bold one not. I tried to post my scans earlier in the week but wasn't able too. Kind of weak...IMHO

Well this is my first full year of Heritage since I got in late in the '06 set. I'm officially hooked. Opened my first 2 hobby boxes yesterday and am waiting for 3 more that will hopefully be here by mid-next week. I haven't had a chance to sort out all the variations and SPs yet. Figure I'll do that after my next group of boxes come in. I'll be updating my trade list as I open more stuff but as of now, here's what I have to trade, without really an idea of what I need in return yet. I'll be trying to assemble a master set with SPs and the subsets.

    Relics:
    DWW - Dontrelle Willis jersey
    RB - Ronnie Belliard bat

    Chrome Refractors:
    101 - Orioles Team

    Chrome:
    41 - Paul Konerko
    56 - Roger Clemens
    83 - Yankees Team
    97 - Carlos Zambrano

    Mantle HR Cards:
    7, 8, 17, 25, 28, 31, 39, 42

    Arod HR Cards:
    56, 72

Here's a scan of a couple of the best from the first 2 boxes:
