Any packs I pulled a checklist I didn't get any SPs or inserts......here is the rest of the box breakdowns. I ended up busting half the case today and the other half will be sometime later most likely, but hell its hard not to keep busting.....I'm really glad I busted that 4th box now. I was high on the SP count on the first 2 boxes since I didn't have the right SS and the numbers are actually 12 SPs in both.

    Box 3

    12 Sps
    3 Chromes
    3 T&N
    2 NAP
    1 FB
    Soriano Bat

    Box 4 was just amazing!

    Gordon diecut card
Maddux Black refractor - I don't collect that much of him anymore so I'll most likely trade it off to one of you guys for a bunch of SPs I need or put it on the bay

    12 SPS
    3 Chrome
    2 T&N
    1 NAP
    2 FB

If anyone else pulled the Gordon card do you remember if it was in the same spot or is it just completely random.

I pulled the gordon and it was the last card in the pack. and the pack was already open! it was a sealed hobby box but most packs were open. weird.

Why did Topps pull the Gordon in the first place? Is this common knowledge and my head is up my arse? AND, has anybody heard of a Gordon chrome ?

I have ripped two hobby boxes and two blaster boxes and didnt recieve an auto or relic card in any box. Would this be strange for this set?

Overall auto/relic odds are 1:36 packs , I did slightly better than that over 12 2/3 boxes. I never got a black refractor nor a Gordon. Sometimes for the odds to even up you have to open more.

Dan, I believe Gordon was pulled because Topps didn't have a contract with him.

How far is too far to drive for heritage? How about flying 1200 miles? LOL IM here in Arizona coming the targets. I did
get a a few blaster boxes but nothing huge. Looks like Im too late here in AZ and when I get back in FL I will be
    too late also.

To buy or not to buy.........

The Gordon cut-out seems to have gone up considerably within the last week. Do you think it weould be smart to wait to purchase, thinking the hype might go down. Or...do you think it will go up even more, because people might be finishing up their sets and this is the last card they need to get?

I bought mine off of EBay for about $135 about three days ago. One sold an hour ago for $135 and there are only 4 more listed right now. I really think there are more out there. I think it will continue to spike upwards a little bit more before levelling off around $150-$175 range.

I asked my dad, an avid collector of the original '57 set, if he'd like my posted Heritage Oravetz autograph. His response:

What the hell is “Topps Heritage?”

Ernie Oravetz was about five feet nothing and would have played for no one if not the Senators.

    Cute little fart, isn’t he?

Hey guys I have a dumb question. Are the retail $20 "booster" boxes shrink-wrap sealed? I went to Target and none of the boxes were sealed... I peeked in one and the packs looked sealed, but I had a bad feeling since I thought the boxes were supposed to be shrink-wrapped.

Do not buy a box if it is not shrink wrapped with plastic that is printed with the Topps logo. The first Heritage I ever bought was in 2004. The boxes were wrapped with clear plastic. All of the packs were searched with the SPs removed. I did not buy heritage again until 2005.

Dan brings up a good point. What would be a fair trade? I pulled a black refractor as well - Ervin Santana #94. It will most likely land on ebay.

I'm actually more interested in what would be considered fair when trading chromes for refractors. Any input would be helpful.

Retail has been rough on me this year. I gave it a last-ditch effort at Wal-Mart tonight. I bought a blaster box and two packs from a retail box. This is the same store where I bought re-wrapped 2004 Heritage.

When I got back to my car, I started with the single packs. The first one had already been opened on one end. I was HOT. I tore it the rest of the way open and found this.

    POW

    image

Pack searchers my A55. They were looking for chromes or GU or whatever, but this bad boy slipped by.

The first pack in the blaster box only had seven cards and no SP. I was back to cranky mode. The second pack had eight cards, and this was the last one.

    KABLAM

I briefly thought about keeping it, but I’ve taken too much of a beating on Heritage this year. It will have to go.

No it is very blue. I think the black background I used makes it look that way. I noticed how black it looked before I uploaded it, but I was too excited. I will get a better scan. That black auto will drive the Heritage diehards crazy.

Im back from Arizona. My suitcase weighed 38.7 lbs upon departure and came in at a nice 58.3 lbs this morning...needless to say my underwear
did not grow on those days!! 800 count heritage boxes do weigh 6 lbs each!

I found plenty of heritage boxes, most of the blaster boxes were pillaged, so I didn't get anything great...I still think the blaster
boxes are DOA. Someome here prove me wrong.

My excitment came a few days into the trip...I visited a card shop and low and behold they had the mother of all cards..2001 Heritage!!!!!!

It was an unopened box, but only 2 packs were gone...of course I was hesitant because the autos in this series were very easy to
cherry pick. I went around the shop and didn't see any 01 autos so I bought 10 packs at 7 bucks a piece...sure that is high, but
I love this stuff!!! I was very happy opening this stuff, it brought back great memories..I was rewarded with a nice Willie Mays
stadium seat card!! It seemed like all the cards were dead on 50/50. 350 dollars later and a few 01 boxes I was out of there. I also
pulled an 01 Pujols RC out of bowman heritage..nice.

I went later on to the same guy, I had an idea, to buy you all some 01 heritage.....keep in mind I spent 350 the day before. I go in
and inquire about a few other boxes, which by the way were not cheap or rare....I was going to purchase those boxes and then
buy some more 01 heritage....well I ask the guy to knock 10 bucks off a few boxes (one of them a 05 heritage at 90). The guy
gives me some sob story about they are not his boxes and he really sells them fine for the listed price..blah blah blah....I drop the
    boxes and leave...what an JERK.

Arizona is a great place, I suggest that everyone take a visit..you can hit 6 targets in no time! LOL

Needless to say, I have plenty of extra heritage now...a few of my boxes had the rarer run of sp's in them...you set collectors know
    what Im talking about.

Im glad to see that everyone is doing well!
