I'm not sure why it took so long for the Heritage/eBay community to react, but the white back auctions are starting to ramp up now. 18 and counting...

Here's one on the gum side of the house...on the outside of the pack it says "sugarless" gum but not reduced calorie - true! There is actually 20 cals/stick! So what the hell happened to sugarless meaning low to no calories?

I'm with ya Mike - the gum needs more discussion! I guess I'm used to the sugarless stuff now and it's not so bad. I'm ready to buy a box of 04 and see what the good stuff is like in quantity! I chewed the gum from my 02 box last year and it was fine. I've also noticed that with all this gum sitting around the house I'm dipping considerably less. Maybe I should just combine the two....image

Still fresh gum from 2002 - guess we should add Heritage gum to the list of things that would survive a nuclear holocaust, just under c--kroaches. The world would then be populated with bubble blowing bugs. Keep your cards in fire proof boxes so the bugs can trade.

Tobacco flavored gum, yummmm. Next best thing to Nicorette. Trying to avoid the visual on that spit cup.

Since I am in Columbus, OH for the next month, I'm venturing out to case Targets for Heritage, and then finally get all my cards in order today.

    D--n it's cold.

Guess what - you can't use the full word c--ckroaches on this board.

The booster, blaster, bonus - whatever boxes seem to be popping up. I found them at TRU. The SPs appear to be in the same ratios as in the retail and hobby boxes. Has anyone noticed any differences?
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason.
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

I got no checklists in 3 boxes of blaster boxes I opened, got one SP/box, and got my first ink! In addition, I got NO duplicates, whereas the retail boxes have been overrun with duplicates.

To be perfectly honest, I have been much, much happier with the blaster boxes than hobby boxes.

Last year it took me over three hundred packs to pull an auto (Yogi). This year I pulled one in my 22nd pack. I'm done with Heritage this year. Everything I have is available except the Feller auto.

OK OK, after reading all these threads about Heritage and reading about my fellow board members enjoyment of ripping these open I am taking the plunge......I was at Walmart yesterday with the Wife and saw a "blaster/booster" box and 2 open boxes....I couldn't buy them with the Wife there but she went out today and I went back up and made my purchase....1 Box and 13 loose packs, there was an open pack that I looked in with an Arod NAP, I left it there as it was a bit dinged (I didn't open the pack - YOUR HONOR - I AM NOT A PACKSEARCHER LOL)..Anyways....I am excited and ready to start ripping....I will post the pack by pack results....Wish me luck!!!!

Your Blalock is probably an SP as well - if he's fielding/holding a golve, you're in luck.

Mudflap, thanks for the feedback, please keep it coming as I admit I don't have any idea of the particulars of this set!!! The Blaylock action shot look like he has just released the ball as in tossing it around the horn, don't know if that helps....

Yup, you got the SP. The non SP Blalock is a batting pose. Looks like you're doing pretty well on SPs!

    Hi Heritage Hounds!

I have been real busy with work and stuff and have not been too active on my set. I picked up a couple of booster boxes and no light backs! I'm used to not getting an auto but come on!

So, I'm short about 30 cards but since I will be picking up more retail - can't keep myself away - I'm holding off on the wantlist for the master set.

Now, onto the biggie...I need help with the chromes - I'm doing the set - if there are people out there who are not, the commons are worth less than the SP's in general - I will trade one for one.

Please PM me with your SP needs and perhaps we can trade for the THC's.

    Thanx
    your friend

    You got it!
The lighter grays are in the retail single packs for sale and in some hobby boxes. I'm just wondering if the booster boxes will come up zero on the light backs? That would force people to buy the more expensive retail packs!
If so, I have another nice thing to say to Topps in my letter this year. I'm still a heritage collector....just need to vent a bit to the company.
    Thanx for the input
    your friend

edit: has anyone noticed anything interesting about the cartoons on the back with respect to sp's vs. commons of the same number? And there is one SP/common combo that has the same cartoon but with a different narrative...anyone?

i've been purchasing packs from 2 separate wal-marts (the 12x2 boxes). one wal-mart is yielding several light/white backs while the other is all greys...kind of odd since they are coming from the same 12x2 boxes. also noticed the wal-mart that has the "all greys" also has the SP variation cards where the other wal-mart (with light/white) has the other version. make sense?

i did pull a FR-BF today (bob feller - seat card). it is fun to open these packs.

    Thanks,

    David (LD_Ferg)
