I still need about a dozen SPs for this set and around 30 chromes....Is anyone trading in this set anymore cause I have tons of dups, I also have a ton of 04 and need about 5-6 SPs.
<< <i>because of topps heritage, today i learned that JT Snow is former NFL player Jack Snow's son..
i didnt know this.. >>
yes, and partly because of that fact (having followed the Rams since the mid-70s) I actually really like J.T. Snow as a ballplayer - great defensive 1st baseman, and it seems a pretty decent guy too. In spite of bleeding Dodger blue, there always seems to be at least one Giant every year that I like - in past years it has been guys like Brett Butler, Bill Mueller, Snow, Robby Thompson. Wish I could break the habit - can't stand the Giants you know...
Are we going to keep this alive for 2005 Topps Heritage Football, or should I start a new thread when I'm busting my first couple of boxes? I know it's not quite as entertaining as its baseball cousin, but at least my fix will be sated for a few more months.
Is anyone still working on this set? I need about a dozen SPs or so still and about 20 chromes. I have tons of other SPs and chromes I can trade. I also need 4 SPs from 2004 as well. Please post here if you can help me out.
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason. Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason. My Pirates Collection
Speaking of future releases, '05 Bowman Heritage releases tomorrow. I'll be doing a Dodger team set, but what I found noteworthy is that the '51 Topps is being done at the same time. Looks like a 106 card set (52 red backs, 54 blue backs). That should tide us over until late Feb!
Just wanted to share my excitement in finally finishing up my Topps Heritage master set run - 2003 #250 Alex Rodriguez was the lone remaining card needed, and he is safely put away. I'm still chasing the relics, but I'm considering those as totally separate sets. Thanks to all board members who helped get me closer. Looking forward to '06!
Does anyone have a scan of #6 Jason Bay SP. Some lists say 1956 Uniform and some say Yellow hat. I'm not sure what the SP should look like because he is wearing a vest but it doesn't look like a throwback style (unless that's the variation). This one doesn't seem to be as distinguishable as some of the other 1956 uni variations. I don't have the regular card or the variation. Thanks!

No, the top one is not the short print. I don't know why Topps is telling you that. I've opened upwards of two cases of 2005 Heritage - I've got a zillion of the ones with the Chevron car on the wall behind him. The SP is the bottom one with the green wall and the 1956 uniform, which I've only pulled a couple of. The 'Bay is littered with people misidentifying the SPed card. If you do a search, you'll find that the top three of four cards in eBay stores have the yellow hat being sold for $0.01 (with a buck shipping), $0.40 and $0.50.
The only thing I can think is the Yellow hat is an SP and the '56 uni is an SP Variation. Maybe something similiar to the Pujols card where both versions are SP's. I don't know. It is confusing as hell.

There was similar confusion related to the 2004 Bowman Heritage #40 Victor Martinez and #48 Pedro Martinez, and I think #183 (forget the guys name) that had him pictured in a Marlins uni and a Padres uni. Nobody could ever decide which was SPed. I eventually tracked them all down and put it out of my mind.
My local pharmacy where I get my monthly presciptions has had a half-full box of 2005 Topps Heritage Baseball sitting there for so many months, that today I decided to buy a pack. I wonder what AUTO I am going to pull! I feel lucky.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

Hey Good Luck!
The pull of the century came at Christmas this year when a guy pulled the Nixon 1/1 from a single pack of hobby heritage his wife picked up for him with some other packs - probably stocking stuffer deal - my wife does the same thing - major difference? This guy was lucky like all get out!!!!
I wonder how many 2005 Topps Heritage cases, boxes and packs have been put away for years as an investment? 2 percent? 5 percent? 10 percent? Whatever, it's good to see this file arise from the dead. Thirty-eight days and the 2006ers are out!
I have spoken with two different dealers who told me that they do not know when they will be able to order 2006 Heritage. Both of them said that all of Topps' releases are delayed this year. I haven't seen any updates on the Topps site. I am getting antsy.

COUNT DOWN IS ONE MONTH . . . Heritage will be released one month from today (hopefully) and this slug will dominate the board (apologies to none Heritage collectors).
<<I would say part due to the timing and also the popularity of the cut vs. other presidents I guess.>>
That, coupled with the "Reserve Auction" will probably prompt some heavy bidding at the end. Reserve auctions tend to scare people away. When I do them, I always put the reserve amount in the description so people know what they need to bid. It tends to work a little better for me. My only guess is that some bidders think the reserve amount is going to be ridiculously high so why bid.

Hi John
Good to hear from you!
If the samples are true, I'm a bit disappointed in the thick white border to the base set.
I want it to look like the original 57T design.
But, I can't stop the string tho.
Look forward to your posts this Feb!

There was similar confusion related to the 2004 Bowman Heritage #40 Victor Martinez and #48 Pedro Martinez, and I think #183 (forget the guys name) that had him pictured in a Marlins uni and a Padres uni. << <i>My local pharmacy where I get my monthly presciptions has had a half-full box of 2005 Topps Heritage Baseball sitting there for so many months, that today I decided to buy a pack. I wonder what AUTO I am going to pull! I feel lucky. >>

Any word on that card? It hasn't surfaced yet.

I can't remember who pulled it?
I would guess he's waiting till heritage is live - that's when there's more interest IMO.
I found out the guy is who had the card - I will check and see what his plans are.
This has got to be the pull of the century for a guy who only got one pack!!!!!

What about the Ike?
What do you guys think the Nixon would go for?
My guess is between 1500 - 2000$?

Heritage will be released one month from today (hopefully) and this slug will dominate the board (apologies to none Heritage collectors).
<< <i>In case you're tracking the sales of the 1of1 cuts, this Eisenhower is on eBay as we speak.

Thanx Scott
It's not doing very well.
I would say part due to the timing and also the popularity of the cut vs. other presidents I guess.
I think the Nixon will do a lot better - he was more of a recent celebrity - I mean how many prez's leave office!
