I finally got some ink from a booster box (purchased at Toys 'R Us). I pulled a Jose Santiago (Red Ink #15/56) #RO-JSA. Woo Hoo! Never heard of him but he's got a nice sig. I still don't have any checklists though.

Congratulations! That does happen from time to time - I have had insert cards stuck to each other but never autos.

I've bought several retail packs lately and several packs from booster boxes and had a lot of packs without any inserts. In the hobby packs I have opened, all the packs had either an sp, t & a, flashback, chrome, etc. But some of the retail packs have had nothing but base cards. The pack you mentioned is better than I have done in entire $19.99 boxes.

AJ I opened 8 hobby boxes and 2 retail boxes along with 3 booster boxes - yes, more money than I should be spending - but worth the time invested - one should sell off some stuff to recoup - that I agree.
I opened 4 hobby boxes, and 4 or 5 of the 'blaster' boxes, along with several loose packs here and there.
If you try to assemble a master set with the SPs and Chromes, it can add up very quickly. I would say all told I am into it for about $600 or so, including my ebay purchases of singles.
But it's been a lot of fun!
edit: oh, forgot to add the cost of the MJ Roop master set binder I am waiting for ($129.90). I'll take some pictures of them when I get it and get back online after my surgery.
I haven't bought any hobby boxes, but I've probably bought enough loose packs in cards stores to make a box. I would say that I've opened about 20 retail boxes (The $20 ones). Well worth it for the entertainment value. I plan on ripping another 5 or 6 retail boxes (I know of about that many still left in these parts), and hopefully by then I will have my complete base set!
Anybody else send an NPN for Heritage? I'm thinking we should start hearing back on those pretty soon.
Ohhh...next years Heritage. Can I really begin to think about them NOW??? But alas, I have! I'll be buying 1 case(thinking of two!), then a bunch of blasters because I have so much fun with them. I will be Heritage nuts next year! 57s are one of my favorites!
I'm still a few SP's/1NAP short..lol. I've been puttin it off in hopes they would magically appear in my binder one night while sleeping. I don't think its working . I happen to find a few random packs at target etc, so I have a few SP's to trade if anyone can help me out. I still need #'s 452, 420, 135(batting), 125(blue cap), 20 and NAP 5. SP's I have to trade are #'s 50, 130, 389, 410, 425, 432, 445, 468 and 471. I also have some random chrome/refractors/GU's/Bat's/stadium seats and one auto(I would want all the cards I need for the auto).
Editted to add: any people I had talked to in PM about sending base cards, the ones I have will be sent out tuesday(busy week/weekend).

Please help. I can't look forward to the 2006 heritage set (or sleep at night) until I get these last three.
I am still short 3 SP's (399, 419, 452) so I went to Target and bought 4 packs. I didn't get any of the SP's I needed, but I got an interesting pack.
In one pack were the following cards:
