+++ THE OFFICIAL 2005 TOPPS HERITAGE THREAD...ANY POSTS REGARDING HERITAGE...ONLY POST HERE +++

Welcome Heritage Collectors (and potential Heritage collectors).

Lets make this the ONE and ONLY tread from here on out (Feb 22nd) with posts regarding 2005 Topps Heritage.

We need everyone to follow along to make this work...which will make reading the boards much easier for not only us but the non-heritage collectors as well.

Once again...if anyone wants a excel spreadsheet for the 2001-2005 Topps Heritage Releases (including descriptions of the 2005 SPs)...please shoot me an email at jbasilone@adelphia.net

Thanks!!

Heritage Collectors---- I really hate to do this. This A.M. I uncovered the following white backs:

    14 148 206 280 324 371
    83 150 215 282 333 377
    91 154 219 284 342 382
    99 156 220 289 343 385
    102 158 234 290 345 386
    104 160 240 291 347 391
    106 168 243 302 348 393
    114 174 246 305 354 394
    117 176 247 306 355
    122 177 263 308 356
    128 180 265 310 357
    131 189 272 313 359
    132 191 275 317 361
    133 197 278 320 363
    136 200 323
    147 205

There are 83 in the list. None of the 83 were contained in tne Basilone list. There were 3 cards in this lot that were in the Basilone listing (244, 274, and 319).These were all contained within two boxes. 86nova (Craig).

Do you have scans of a couple of the cards?

Are you going for a set of them. I would trade my extra white backs for your dups.

wow , that's a big addition, i'm starting to wonder if all the base cards have a "light back" version.

i understand that the the difficulty level is minimal, i just noticed the 2 separate "official 2005 topps heritage threads" on the same page, and thought it was kinda funny..

    Hi John
Excellent idea! Keep it all, at this point, on one thread. Having said that, if someone starts another thread about Heritage - for any reason what so ever, it's their right to do so.

I'm growing very weary of the control freaks around here! Last time I checked, no one pays for the privilege of posting here and if you read a thread title and don't want to select it for viewing, that's your decision.

    Thanx

What if we have a post about the 2005 Topps Heritage Nolan Ryan Auto? Which one should we post it to?

I saw another post on someone finding retail in walmart. Is it 05? If not, though Im sure this has been answered 5-10 times, when will 05 be at retail? I would just reply to the other thread but I'll just post it here lol.

Yes, I read the title. You can't miss it as it has that ebay 'gotta LQQK!' look. Just seems like you're reinventing the wheel, as Mud is already 150+ posts into 2005H.

Not knocking the effort, just how to define 'official'.

Moving on, I'm a potential enthusiest of Heritage. Any info on costs associated with 2005 complete sets and earlier would be appreciated.

Good. Last night I had to make a point that too many Heritage threads exist with overlapping information. I like reading about heritage but it was getting out of hand where some new and insightful information can be found. I am glad Basilone got the hint and corrected the problem with this unified thread. Thanks!

I enjoy this new Topps Heritage and having one thread will make it easier to enjoy.

I did not mean to offend anyone by bumping up all the heritage threads, but it was a way to illustrate how obsurd it was getting.

I see what you mean and apologize for the strong words - I should never respond to something while at work with people yelling in my ear. LOL

This is different than somebody just arbitrarily determining what threads are OK. Again, I was wrong to sound off.

That was the point so people will just post to one thread.

There are many other collectors who read this board besides Heritage collectors. I would be annoyed too.

I wish the "one thread police" would go over to the "Buy, Sell, Trade" boards and take care of "Namesty" and his 1-3 spam threads he creates every day spamming the same thing over and over.

Oh, and to keep it on topic--I'm bidding on some 2005 Topps Heritage cards on eBay! Yea! At least my money will go to someone who wants to sell them to me.image
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

Went to 3 wally worlds today and a few other dept stores. None had them in yet. Just happen to see the person in charge of the cards at one of the wally worlds and she said they would be in on Thurs. Your results may vary.

    ***UPDATE***
I just talked to Chris from blowout. Retail cases arrived with him today, so all the distributors should have theirs today as well. I would expect to see the boxes on retail shelves sometime this week.

My case should be here by Friday.

I'll check the Target next to my work tomorrow as I'm fairly certain they wont have any today. I will post my findings tomorrow.

The regular retail didn't last year either. It was the 11pk booster boxes that were yielding the 1/pk.

<< <i>Do the boosters normally come out at the same time as regular retail? >>

they did in San Antonio last year.

    Nothing at Target today.

Not to beat a dead horse - for a few weeks of the year this board "comes alive" with one product. How many times do I see a post about a "dumb ebay sale"; is this OC? Thanx PSA, etc. - I don't mind since this is a free speech zone - come on...let's be fair. I would appreciate a little support on the idea of fairness in creating the thread of ones choice. If no one responds to a thread, the author will get the message.

I got my 3 boxes from Kuhlman today. I got a bunch of the light backs also, i haven't had a chance to put anything in order.

I pulled a Jim Brady auto and it has a light back. I pulled a Paul Minner auto from a box that i bought at my local card store and that has a light back also. I didn't get any light backs from the boxes from the card store. Does anyone know if all of the autos have the light backs?

I also got a black chrome Andruw Jones, which is one of my favorite players

With all this Heritage talk there has got to be alot of unchewed gum out there.

If you haven't seen my post already, my daighter and I are looking for gum to send over to our tropps. There is a drive going on called Operation Shoebox - New Jersey. They are looking for all kinds of items including gum. I thought it would be great to get fellow collectors to help the cause with the gum they have from Heritage. My daughter's school is just one of many places in New Jersey that is working on this project.

If you have any gum that you would be willing to ship to my daughter it would be greatly appreciated. While I'm not looking to pay for the gum, I would be willing to pay for the half the shipping if I have to. I'll take whatever you have - a case worth or 10 cases worth.

You can e-mail me at isellcards@optonline.net to get my mailing info. I can also send you information on Operation Shoebox. If anyone out there is questioning my reasons for wanting the gum, you can see my feedback at sportscard_market on Ebay. Very honest dealer just looking to help my daughter help out the troops.

    Thanks.

Ok, guys. My first box and first pack. All white backs and look, Rob Bell dupes in the same pack.

What is with the checklist that is TWO cards thick? They look like they are stuck togehther but don't come apart. Not that I tried very hard. Also, the checklist was the 9th card in the pack. Is it common to get more than 8?

While we're on the topic of set collecting...I learned an ez way to sort the cards from a guy at a show - when the smoke clears, you only have to the sort or handle the cards 3 times to get them in order.

Does anyone know this technique or a simpler one?

    Thanx John
All my boxes were this way. No variants at all. Will be interested to see some tho - have to see what retail brings.

Mike, glad I was not the only one who thought these "grey" backs might be "light" enough to be light backs.I wish someone would scan a light back! Not to mention that I pulled dupes from the SAME pack 3 separate times, which led me to believe they were light backs considering previous posts about getting so many dupes because of the high % of light backs in boxes
