i remember Miguel Tejada going nutty one season, but i don't know if it was good enough to top the list

based on what jack said, it's probably someone more obscure

    Jim Gentile in 1961?

Well, the top 3 ORIOLE amounts have been named. The franchise record is a Brown.

Derek Jeter? Least? Albert Pujols most?

I am thinking these may both be correct

    What about Ozzie for fewest?

It is Miguel Tejada who had 150 RBIs for the Baltimore Orioles in 2004.

I would have "never" guessed that had I not randomly come across that stat.

i surprised myself a little, but i followed baseball back then. ask me to name ONE Oriole on the '25 roster and you'd take back whatever i just won, which is probably nothing, so here, here's your nothing back, because i don't know a single player playing for the Baltimore Orioles today. if pressed, i'd try to be funny and say Sam Horn, who once infamously struck out 6 times in one game.

Correct! The "Sacramento" A's are the only team.

I would not have guessed that Shea Langeliers has hit 30 HRs for the A's this season; along with Nick Kurtz (33 HRs, one tonight) and Brent Rooker (30 HRs).

I believe the Yankees joined the club with a fourth, Bellinger, at 29.

    Mike Trout?

  • Jack131Jack131 Posts: 84 ✭✭✭

    It is Mike Trout!

And Starling Marte; both with 55 career triples.

I definitely would not have guessed Mike Trout.

I definitely would not have guessed Mike Trout.

I guessed him based on his career length and the fact he was very fast before injuries slowed him up. As for Marte, I would never have guessed him in a million years.

I would have guess it could be Marte's teammate... Doubles Machine Corbin "The Juice Worth the Squeeze" Carroll. But I reasoned that he's too new to the league. Ignoring all the guys who didn't really ever have to touch 2nd base during their day I think this kid has a shot at a significant number for his career.

What player came into the league at age 22 and it wasn’t until age 36 that he hit over .300 for a season with an impressive .313 batting avg. ?
It ended up being the only time he hit over .300 for a season.

What player at age 22 wound up with a dead woman in his motel room and was charged with involuntary manslaughter?

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 12,344 ✭✭✭✭✭

idont know the answer to either question, but my interest is piqued

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

The first one was Luis Aparicio who hit .313 at age 36 which was his only season over.300

The second was Cesar Cedeño. I think the incident happened in the Dominican Republic. The 19 year old woman and him were playing with the gun and it went off and killed her. I’m not sure but I think he got off with a slap on the wrist.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 12,344 ✭✭✭✭✭

wow, I never heard that about Cesar Cedeno. that is crazy. what a tragedy.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
