DJ Moore being a turn over specialist making the JMU game look much closer than it should have is just funny.
Yes Miami A%M was a defensive battle both are know for the d lines. Reed and Beck are just average but so is Moore for Oregon.
Its time though for the G5 to have its own playoff. Im not against them being able to make it if they deserve it, but all three G5 teams that have played a playoff game havent been competitive in any of them and its a waste of time.
Texas Ole Miss or Oregon ND would be much more interesting
Ole Miss and Georgia have to play each other one of them literally has to lose. Just like someone had to lose in the Bama OU game.
This will be the second time Ole Miss and Georgia have played this season. The first one was a dog fight that Georgia won by 1 possession.
Theres two major things for that game. The first is its the first real game with out Kiffin. More importantly though is how healthy is Lacys shoulder going to be. Hes an absolute stud and would be a massive loss for Ole Miss.

I feel the same but I always approach these games with caution, I have seen far too many Ohio State teams lose to less talented teams. And it isn’t because of the players!! It’s as though it’s a long standing tradition for a Buckeye Head Coach to have at least 1-2 ridiculous games each season. This game will be a gut check because Ryan Day will be the one calling plays instead of Brian Hartline.
The Big 10 Championship Game was that type. The offensive play calling displayed a stubbornness, it wasn’t a good display of what the team is capable of, but I think it was almost intentional. I had the impression they didn’t want to show too much.
If Day plays like that against Miami he’ll lose the game.

Some good BIG TEN bowl games this weekend. Today Northwestern and Minnesota play. And on Saturday looking forward to Penn State vs Clemson at Yankee Stadium in the pinstripe bowl.
Penn State vs. Clemson is an interesting match. Two teams whose fortunes really changed early in the past season, both were Top 5 and faded dramatically by the 5th-6th games. Penn State was probably the biggest surprise since they came close to playing for the Natty last January and also sacrificed a Head Coach.

Kyle Whittingham is the new Michigan coach, signs 5 year deal.
Leave it to Michigan to have a dumpster fire in their football program and come out of it with a better coach than they had before the nonsense. I've been a big fan of Whittingham for a long time. Won 11 of his first 12 bowl games with Utah (we won't discuss the last few, lol). If he can hang on to Underwood and maybe keeps the DC, you'll see a different Michigan team next year.
I don’t think the football program per se is the problem anymore than a new Head Coach is the solution. I think that the time spent there by Harbaugh did damage to the Michigan athletic department.
They’ll need a clean out and rebuild, top to bottom, to fix Michigan.

A name other than Fisch. I’m sooooo surprised. I’m glad he’s staying in Washington. He’s got a good shot to make that program competitive and he’s going to have the money to do it.
Since nobody else has seen fit to keep track of this seasons Conference Bowl records I will make a start of it. If nothing else, it is an indicator of relative strength among the conferences because this is about the only time we get to see them play each other. Results below are prior to Saturday's games, Tues/Wed/Thurs games will give a good indication. I will add that the best games will be head-to-head play between the SEC and Big 10, perhaps 5-10 games total. I expect some myths to be shattered followed by the disinformation denial campaign.

@galaxy27, I’d say that outlook is quite optimistic and highly unlikely. Michigan was already on a downward spiral post-Harbaugh and this has probably set back the program at least three years. I can’t see all the 4-5 star recruits lining up to be a Wolverine.
Michigan football is in trouble. They have already been eclipsed by Indiana and I expect Penn State will rebound faster than Michigan. That puts them at 4th in the Bog 10 pecking order.

That game was unwatchable with the 30 opt outs including basically Clemsons entire defense. I also dislike these games on baseball fields especially when its a bunch of backups in a meaningless game. Fenway might be my least favorite stadium for one of these games.
Missouri has basically no WRs with opt outs and is starting a QB for the first time with their QB opting out. LSU half their defense opted out including their best players.

You forget to mention, Penn State was playing without their head coach, and 1st string QB. The southern teams dont like playing in cold weather. That's one reason the BIG TEN team always wins this bowl game because its played up north in the cold.
Virginia finishes with 11 wins with 13-7 win over Missouri.

PSU hasnt had Allar for months. So it matters there but not that Mizzou had their QB and the majority of their QBs opt out which left them with no offense?

You might be the only one who thinks Clemson has a stud QB and HC. Dabos refusal to use the portal has been an issue for years now and its not all Klubniks fault but hes far from a stud and they had 29 players opt out including 11 starters. Just like LSU had most of their defense opt out and Missouri had a ton of offensive opt outs.
Most of these bowl games are just who can keep the most players from opting out
We can argue opt outs as an excuse for poor performance and a loss but in the end things affect both teams. A big part of NCAA football is about team depth on a squad of 100 players. I don’t think it’s logical to argue that a conference is more talented, places more players in the NFL, etc. and then use the “opt out excuse” as a reason for a loss.
No reasonable sports fan would argue that in the past 20 years the SEC tended to be the dominant NCAA football conference. It’s time for those same fans to admit that things have changed during the past five years. Strength of Record, things like Bowl wins and Natty’s, are the final arbiter.
