I do not know anything about recruiting rankings for high school athletes (football or other sports).
What are the requirements a high school player must meet to receive a ranking of/designation of:
5 star,
4 star,
3 star,
2 star,
1 star and/or
no star?
Further, what individual and/or organization determines who receives any such ranking or designation?
Ryan Day has cashed in on the expanded 12-team NCAA playoff to the tune of almost $90million and 7 years --- but he still can't beat Michigan!! I hope he can figure it out during the run of that contract.

That was quite a run to the Championship. Very impressive. However it doesn't feel like a true National Championship. When they install the marker showing the year they won they should put an asterisk beside 2024. Better to beat the team up North and lose the Championship game. I wouldn't have cared if they fired Ryan Days sorry ass.

Complete nonsense. As it turned out, I wouldn't change a thing. I'm glad they lost to Michigan. Fired the boys up. I'll take National Championships any day over a regular season win. No one remembers Alabama losing to Auburn in 2017.

You know, that's the same thing I said in a thread here in the aftermath of the Michigan drubbing. The thing being that my life has taught me that there's strength in admitting when I'm wrong. @Brick, you must have taken a sick-day when that lesson was examined!!
Ryan Day showed HIS strength in the way he rallied the Buckeyes after that to quite literally steamroll the competition into and through the Championship game. No asterisk is needed, in a few short years nobody except us choice few and many in Ann Arbor and Columbus will even remember that outcome of that loss., we'll all remember the recovery.

It varies some depending on the service but generally speaking a 5 star is a top 30 player in his class. A 4 star is the remaining top 300 players and a 3 star is the remaining top 10%. 2 stars are considered role players
Because of the limitations kickers rarely get higher than a 3 star even though they are the best in their class and are really a 5 star. There are 4 stars that really should be 5 stars and there are 3 stars that really should be 4 stars

Clemson and FSU settled their lawsuits with the ACC. Theyre going to get more money and their exit fee which was estimated at 400 million is now only 165 million and goes down 18 million a year.

Funny part is hes probably going to cost himself money listening to his bad handlers advice. He has to sit out a year if he transfers to an SEC school because its the spring and no one has challenged that rule in court. Most other teams are already set at QB and hes good not elite. Schools will now be skeptical of him and have already allotted basically all their NIL for the year
I cant decide who made worse decisions, Nicos handlers, his father, or him for listening to everyone. Nico is going to UCLA leaving a high powered offense with a QB guru head coach to go to a crappy team with a worse travel schedule. If that wasnt enough hes also reportedly getting only 1/5 in NIL when he was making 2.4.
Basically not only did he just ruin his career and his pro career but did so for far less money. Ironically the UCLA QB is expected to transfer to Tennessee and have a chance to compete for the starting job

So the NCAA has changed the playoff format to eliminate Conference Champion byes in round one. Teams will stay where they are ranked but there is still no guarantee that Alabama makes the playoff!!!
Methinks this will change how the committee ranks teams because I don't believe they want a conference non-champion ranked ahead of that conference's champion.

The power 4 conference champions will all be in the top 12 they just wont be assured a bye anymore
This new rule change will benefit Notre Dame. I would rather NOT have a bye to be honest, because the bye week sure didnt seem to help any of the 4 teams in the last playoffs. They all lost their 1st game.

I can agree about no bye-week, all teams should play from the start. My main complaint is that I feel the conference champions should be seeded at the top. Also, the NCAA needs to figure out what their final number of teams is going to be because it’s a foregone conclusion that the current format will expand.
There’s a magic number out there and I don’t think 12 is it. To me it should be 16 and the games should start the weekend immediately following Christmas Day. That would mean the first 1-2-3 rounds could be played at the end of the NFL regular season, maybe even on Monday and Tuesday to avoid conflict. 😇

I was aware of the BYU honor code back when I was in college (at a small college located in SW Colorado, playing college hoops in the Western US including two schools in Utah). No premarital sex, no drugs and no alcohol. Violation of the rules would warrant expulsion.
Did not know that those rules may still be in effect (or are in effect).

I think Utah has similar polices still. Hes not the first guy to have to leave BYU because of it, they seem to be the worst about it.

Lol its now been reported that the Memphis safety who was kicked off the team sent the defensive play calls to the UTSA QB before the game last year that Mephis gave up 44 points and lost. Text messages have been leaked. I dont know how Purdue where he is now doesnt immediately kick him off the team.
