LSU wouild be the top landing spot for a transfer QB, but no idea what QB Kiffen prefers and more are entering. Theres a lot of power conference schools that are going to need a new QB next year or start their back up
NFL stats are completely irrelevant to to college football. Some guys go to good teams some guys go to bad teams, theres only so much you can do to control where you go.
The simple fact is the most players in the NFL by far are from the SEC
The only relevancy the NFL has to college football is how many players get drafted which is about 20 years now the SEC
OSU fans should hate that meme anyways. The 2025 part whatever thats just dumb its just betting odds. Nick Bosa sat out multiple games to prepare for the NFL and couldnt care less even though he was healthy
That is a fascinating accomplishment and one that’s hard to believe. There have been a lot of very successful HC’s in NCAA football through the years, how did someone else never do that??
In another week we will get a chance to see if all the accolades heaped on Indiana affect the way they play. The undefeated season, Big 10 Championship, Coach of the Year and Heisman all at once are a lot to hold up.
Psychological pressure. Sometimes it’s better to be the underdog.

@perkdog said: Cignetti is an architect, he knows how to win and he isn't shy about saying it
Cignetti has a good "pedigree" and has enjoyed success throughout his time as a Coach and Head Coach but it's still a little early to anoint him. The big deal being made right now is mainly due to the success at a school which hadn't known it prior to his arrival, there's no history of winning to compare with what he's done at Indiana. That school's fans are rightfully excited. That's what makes this playoff run special and attention grabbing. Indiana will be tested by the best now and Cignetti will almost certainly be tested next season because Mendoza will probably opt out and enter the NFL draft.
NCAA football and the Head Coaches are really tasked with more difficult circumstances than NFL Head Coaches. Past their coaching skills they need to be good recruiters to have any sort of continuity in their team program. That's what makes the perennial powers so special, the ability to compete for the Natty year after year when they are losing players. I haven't looked at what Hoosiers have used up their eligibility, will enter the NIL Portal or opt out to the NFL, but that will be the big test. Can Cignetti compete in those areas?? Can Indiana build on what they have or will they regress??
The two most recent examples to highlight that "leaving phenomenon" might be LSU and Michigan. After LSU won the Natty in 2019 they immediately failed and were 5-5. They have improved since but are largely irrelevant and just hired a new HC. The same with Michigan who lost maybe 25-30 players, they won the Natty in 2023 and now only two seasons removed from that the program is in shambles.
In the meantime teams like Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon and Ohio State continue at a high level almost every season. I don't know how they manage to do it because it isn't easy. Just like the run by the Patriots of the NFL, the years where Nick Saban held Alabama at the pinnacle of College Football for so long amazes me because it is so hard to do.

Bama OU being the Friday night game is kind of weird. Weird stuff happens in those games and Oregon JMU is the Saturday night game. That should have been the Friday one, thats basically a bye unless Moore throws a bunch of picks
Any game DeBoer can say hold my beer and lose a game they should have won like their first game.
On the other hand theres also rumors that he will get fired if he loses this game and that he may potentially be taking the Michigan job which would be doing Bama a favor so they can find someone to get the toughness back into that program
Alabama vs. Oklahoma being played as a battle of extremes. First 17 by the Sooners, then 27 by the Tide and now Oklahoma trying again. Might be a game won by whoever has the ball last.

i'm at Jerry World watching state champ games and have a few pressing thoughts/questions before game #1 today
1) earlier this season when everyone was giving OU's D reacharounds, galaxy was bloviating about how supremely overrated they were. what a virtuoso performance on the biggest stage after the offense spotted them 17 at home last night. like most geniuses, galaxy won't be fully appreciated until long after his time.
2) will cool's University of Bama undies that he ordered last night arrive before Christmas?
3) how many times is someone from this forum going to bite on the dig route and allow bgr to bang his head on the goalpost?
Well, I got a One-Day pass with Sling today, recovering from surgery on the couch. I had hoped for an exciting Game 1 but got a snooze fest instead. Neither team has much to offer.
I hope someone finds the end zone.

Miami and A&M are both playing stout defensive games
@perkdog, I will say what nobody else will - - - these two teams just SUCK and this level of play is just inexcusable. At QB, Beck and Reed have shown nothing.

Good luck proving it or getting that Committee to admit it, but if there are enough teams from one conference in the playoff their odds are pretty good for one of them to make the final. Five is too many, even three is too many. In all likelihood 6 of the 8 teams in the semifinals will be from two conferences.
Somehow I don’t think that’s what the architects of the Natty had in mind.
Another ridiculous point - - - this is the third game and they have all been SEC home games. 😂😂😂

Serious question, what is going on with that kid Ryan Williams??
He is on the cover of the college football video game, was he supposed to be good or something??
Hes had some issues with drops this year but hes elite. Hes also only 18. Hes more of a Deshaun Jackson type whose supposed to take the top of the defense and struggles coming across the middle on short routes which is basically what theyve been asking him to do since Simpson struggles with the deep balls. He still had a pretty good season even with a check down QB that has nerfed him
The SEC played each other in one of the games of course someone has to lose thats a dumb argument. Theyre going to be 2-2 anyways with Ole Miss dominating Tulane then either Ole Miss or GA will have to lose when they play.
The Miami A&M game got exciting at the end but was just a defensive battle. Miami has some elite talent on defense and one bad mistake by A%M on the long run cost them the game. Was a good game but a boring on.
Ole Miss Tulane is just a boring blow out which is the second time thats happened this season.
Oregon JMU should be a boring blowout as well unless Moore throws a bunch of picks. Im not even going to waste time watching that one unless its close at half time
Miami vs. Texas A&M wasn’t a defensive battle, it was two teams that just aren’t very good. Beck and Reed were embarrassing and the WR’s on both sides dropped so many passes I lost count. Other than the running of Fletcher and the Punters the game was ridiculous.
Think about it, South Carolina scored almost 30 points against Texas A&M. And Miami earlier in the season was ranked #2. Unbelievable how poorly both teams played in the biggest game of their seasons so far.

He was since he was 17 freshman year, but Simpson is the QB. He basically nerfed him. Maybe they get their first actually top notch qb since Young next year or maybe he just ends up transferring.
Teams do pay a lot of attention to him but hes going to be draft eligible before he can legally buy beer
