    Do you think this double dime should be graded higher than VF20 by our hosts?

    1875-CC Double Dime PCGS VF20?


    I can make out 3 letters in LIBERTY, healthy shield lines, and a lot more than usual bird feather detail on the reverse.

    A Barber Quartet is made up of Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, and Halves.

    Honestly, with it missing so many letters on the shield obverse, I think it’s a F12-15…

    The more I look at it, the more I realize the coin and its color is nice! Perhaps even @Catbert-worthy. It is THAT pretty! But I don't trust my judgment here (retoning?) and wish I had one of you guys here to hand it to and give me a second opinion on it. Anyway, I'm going to have the coin graded. If it straight grades, even at XF45, it will be a "color bargain."

    Congrats! That looks like it’s going to be a great coin. Unfortunately GFRC has some of the worst photos in the industry so you never know what you’re getting.

    I'm a bit puzzled with the 1891 dime. The DM is a top-100 variety and is cool-looking but is rated an R3+ in rarity (about 200-250 coins exist) and therefore, is not particularly scarce. Is there a significant premium for this DM? As a top-100 variety, I assume there's a small premium.

    I also appreciate the opportunity to figure out what die marriage this is for this 1891 dime.

    It has a "blundered date" with the top of another 9 in the dentils. It was selected as a top-100 variety for seated dimes.
