Way too young! Sorry to hear of his passing,
That's too bad. My condolences to the family. He had a magnificent collections of early US coins.
Shocking. He sold his prized collection of Libertas Americana tokens and medals a couple years back, and I had hoped he simply was moving on to new adventures.
This is sad. Only 64

Prayers for his family and loved ones. A big loss for our community here.
Very sad; too young and an accomplished man. My condolences to his family.
I really enjoyed his contributions to the board here, he will be missed. Condolences to his family.
Martin graduated from Case Western Reserve University 7 years after me and we both became CPA’s. We shared a lot of good times in Cleveland but 7 years apart. Great guy. RIP.
I did not know cardinal personally, but I've read that he was a great collector. My condolences to his family, both immediate and extended.

Oh man, that’s too bad. One of the all time greats. A pleasure to be around. I did a SlabLab interview with Martin a few years ago.

terrible. terrible.

A loss of a truly great numismatist.
Always a sad day to lose a respected numismatist and forum member.
RIP Martin 🌹
I only spoke with Martin in a few occasions but each time was an absolute pleasure. He was extremely passionate, meticulous, engaging, knowledgeable, and interesting.
My condolences go out to his family, and friends

That's sad to hear. I remember him posting for awhile here.
I'm thankful whenever someone can let us know when a forum member passes. Too often, people pass and the community doesn't know because they kept to themselves and/or the family doesn't know about "us"
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
RIP Martin

My condolences to his family and those that knew him well.

This is a big loss of a great benefactor, sharer of his expertise, and overall numismatic knowledge. 😢
I was honored to get to know Martin Logies personally via the PSGS Forum, and enjoyed our discussions & his feedback on my raw AU Bust Dollar and other coins.
I send my sincerest condolences to his family, and wish them strength to get through this difficult time.

My God, That’s way too soon!
I really admired his collection. I interacted with him several times and he was always eager to share and truly a gentleman.
He paid me a huge compliment on one of my coins, one time, and it felt really good coming from him.
We were fortunate to have him participate here.
This one kind of hits me..

Sorry to hear this news. Condolences to Martin’s family and friends.
He was young. I was fortunate enough to attend the auction where his 1794 dollar was sold to TDN. Cardinal was in attendance and seemed pleased with the results.
It was a bitterly cold night in NYC and Oreville and I chatted for some time afterwards, in part because neither of us wanted to go back out into the cold. I still think about the half disme Cardinal sold that night, which I think was the overlooked super-gem of that auction.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Rest in peace. This hobby has a lot of old time collectors and it makes me sad every time we lose a long time board member. It seems to be more and more frequent lately.
It was a pleasure to get to know such a passionate man! Was willing to educate and made time for others. A solid man. This one sucks... RIP.. My deepest condolescences to everyone touched by this stalwart numismatist
Give yourself a little more credit. You were a pleasure to chat with and I did not stick around just because it was bitter cold outside.. LOL.
It was one of the few times I was happy for both the seller (Martin) and the buyer (Bruce). Laura (Legend) made sure that she would not be outbid on Bruce’s behalf by pulling a well known and effective Pittman routine. I was no expert on these early American silver dollars as I did not even own one until I bought a circulated 1798 draped bust dollar from Peak Rarities just a year ago.
Never like to see a forum member pass on. Especially one so obviously well liked.
RIP.
I pm'd with Martin and we discovered we grew up close to each other and went into some of the same local coin shops when we were children and young adults. His home in Middlefield, heart of the local Amish community, is about 15 miles due south of me. I wish I'd have known he was living there. This will sound strange, but although we never met and only knew each other casually here, his face looks familiar to me. Perhaps we passed on the street or somewhere in public and never knew it. He always struck me as a humble, unassuming gentleman.
With each passing day and loss the World becomes a little less interesting. RIP.
aside to @Oreville, did you ever stop into the Rascal House or the Euclid Tavern while you were in Cleveland??
Very sad.
Somehow, given the quality of his collection and research, I was under the impression that he was much older.
Very sad

I am terribly sorry to hear this. RIP Martin.
He was always the most graceful of people here!
A loss to all.
Very sad news!! Martin was a wealth of knowledge and always willing to share it.
Terrible sad news, and far too young. Martin was a great collector, and I think we are all a little better for having him in our presence.
I only had the pleasure of PM'ng with him a few times, probably 12 to 15 years ago, but I remember his knowledge and passion was infectious ... and he even asked for my address and sent me a small booklet he had published.
My condolences to his family and friends.
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

I'm sorry to hear this - in my opinion Cardinal was a giant in this hobby.
Very sad news. My condolences to his family and friends.
Very sad news. Mr. Logies was a great numismatist, and I especially enjoyed his book on 1794 Bust Dollars. I did not know him personally, but from the comments it is evident that he was a nice gentleman also. My he rest in peace.

Thanks for letting us know.
Sorry to hear about Martin's passing.
Very sad, RIP. I think he enjoyed his time here
I will always remember how cool it was when we had "Copper For The Weekend". i would post something like a CWT worth about 10 bucks. Then Cardinal would come along and post an ultra rarity in immaculate condition. The only difference was 3 or 4 more zeros.
Successful BST deals with mustangt and jesbroken. Now EVERYTHING is for sale.
My condolences. Very sad and far too young.
