That has never been the case."
Thanks, makes sense, off to bed that goes.
What about the supposed foil blocking abilities when shipping slabbed coins with the nfc scan technology--foil really works to block?
If so, is there something out there(scan blocker)that has a cleaner application than plain kitchen foil?
Like a pouch/bag of sorts, like a brats dog in those foil pouches when you're at the ball game lol, but serious question?
Thanks
Yes foil blocks the scan during my tests. When in a package without foil I’ve had my phone pickup what’s inside unprompted by me. With the foil nothing picked up inside the package.
"No idea what @braddick is suggesting."
He's talking about my false suggestion that foil keeps drugs from being "sniffed" in packages. I believe him.
Thanks @johnny010
Now I'm really suspecting the Lynwood, CA postman scanned my package within the comfort of his own mail van, and kept it...??!!
I had a hankering for a little classic gold Indian. Here's a picture comparison. It will be interesting to view the coin in hand when it arrives to see which photo best captures the "spirit" of the coin.

"You may have learned a very expensive lesson"...
Agreed, and my bad. For years I've had no problems with minimal, and/or no insurance on items between $30 bucks and 5k...
Interestingly, I do insure all of my shipments to the TPG's and express at that. Mostly on 5-10k worth of coins on each submission.
I'm not feeling it with the PO after this, as well as stories of theft, to flat-out dumping of packages into a ravine!
When I receive packages from the TPG's, GC, and even a larger eBay purchase(3-6k) from a big boy, they all use Fedex w/adult sig. And that's where I'm leaning right now for shipping out high value items--Fedex.
I'm talking about an eBay sale here, as that's what I've been using as a selling platform for 15 years.
The city of delivery is Lynwood, CA, not sure of the crime rate there. The 1st time(to me)buyer is a (edit--sparse)-frequent purchaser of PM's with good feedback. I told the buyer that I don't know who to trust, him or the Postman. I suspect the postman took it, or mis-delivered it? The buyer asked the postman about the package that 'delivered' that day, and the answer was "I don't remember", according to the buyer.
I'm in a jam with this one, again, my bad. I'll be opening that claim up tomorrow. I'm feeling really ripped off at the moment, although no refund has been given(or ordered)yet.
The missing coin is below,
Thanks for the advice and reply!
Ummmm....Lynwood is not a great area and it shares a border with Compton.
Crime is rather high and recently package theft in California (and everywhere else) a is at an all time high. The problem in cali is exacerbated by the lack of consequences and high threshold for being charged.
As far as Ebay is concerned, if the tracking shows as delivered they are not going to force a refund in this situation. If I were you I would not refund anything yet, but I would help the buyer with whatever they need to file a claim and obtain more information from USPS. They are able to pull the signature and gps location of delivery, and that is the first step the buyer needs too take here.
Im of the opinion that the seller of a coin is responsible until the buyer receives the item safely, but you cant rely on the word of an eBay buyer without any evidence. They could just be lying. Thery might have porch pirates. You don't know their living situation, maybe someone else in the home took it, and lied to the buyer. It's an ounce of gold, so anyone recognizes that its close to a $3000 at the very least and half of America is living paycheck to paycheck.
I appreciate that you're prepared too take responsibility, which is the right thing to do if the buyer truly never got their package, but its on them to substantiate that. If you tell the buyer you need to see post office correspondence and a police report, there a chance they might just suddenly "find" it after all. Be smart with this one.
As an aside, it might behoove you to unlock your profile so other members can message you. Someone might have pertinent info, but they have no way to contact you directly.

Buyer didn't receive the item
"I Dont have the item, i never received it nor signed for it. I checked with neighbors and they don't have it. I asked my mail carrier and he states he doesn’t remember. I've never had this issue after buying so many items from Ebay. I'd like a refund or an item replacement. I will go to the usps to speak with a supervisor for a resolution."
I think the buyer tried to scam me, but I can't be sure.
Yesterday, before opening the case the buyer "said" that he talked to the USPS supervisor, and he agreed that the signature didn't match his other sig's on record? And that the supervisor couldn't reach the delivery guy to inquire, as it's been so busy lately.
I simply said "I hope that the thief is caught and goes to jail for a long time". He then opened the case..
I'm just glad that tracking showed an actual delivery to his exact address in Lynwood, CA, and someone signed for it, whew.
PCGS MS64 CAC. Adding it to my Early Walker set after a long dry spell. The 1923-S is a tough date, but the remaining two left to complete it are just as tough or tougher: the 1928-S & the “big daddy” 1921-S. The hunt continues…..
My latest. Great date for gold IMO, and quite a nice coin and overall package. Normally, I probably would not have bought this, were it not a Sunday night auction and after a few glasses of Cab.
Nice coin regardless, I think anyway.

I just traded a certified 1955 DDO XF cleaned for this group. I’ve had the 55 for some time and it really wasn’t the best looking coin. I believe we are both happy.
Members I have done business with: Silverman68, jfoot13, GAB, ricman, Smittys, scrapman1077, RyGuy, Connecticoin, Meltdown, VikingDude, Peaceman, Patches and more.
I'm finally ready to share this one. These are really hard to find in PCGS PL. Rinkor knew I was looking for a better one to replace my 61PL and contacted me from FUN and of course I grabbed it. I don't think I've ever seen a traditionally great looking 1921 (P, D, or S) PL or DMPL as cameo is not common in this year and this coin has none either. Many NGC PL 1921's won't cross. Higher grades than this get expensive very quickly.
Mintage=9,068 (vs. 21,772 proofs). PCGS has certified a little over 1k examples. This label is signed by Michael Reagan, and has it's own variety/coin number (916874). The PCGS Pop report shows only 4 examples with that label, but I assume that's inaccurate. The original regular issue price was $205, with proceeds paid to the Smithsonian Board of Regents. It was also offered in a 4-coin set, with one each silver dollar and gold $5 in both proof and uncirculated.

I think he's debunking the crazy notion that aluminum foil blocks the detection of drugs by dogs.

Not the prettiest CBH. But so far, it's the only 1810 50C O-109a that's graded MS62 (and there are none higher by PCGS and NGC).
And my coin is the "plate coin" for Coinfacts...
