These NFL double digit favorites for Saturday and Sunday, look to me like locks for a ML parlay.

The only "small chance" ML upset I see is the Bears, but only if the Packers get sloppy.

The ticket won't pay all that much, but as they say it's better than tearing it up.

I only favored Baltimore ML in my plays.

Well good luck, but frankly I just can't see Baltimore, Tampa Bay, or Denver losing those games.

    We shall see.

    What about Green Bay?

Geez - a four way parlay on these mentioned ML picks. For a dollar, pays 58 cents profit.

Three way without Green Bay pays for a dollar, a gum ball buying 34 cents profit. LOL

    Then again a 10k wager nets $3,388.76

Will the whales on here step up? 😉

I can see Denver losing. Coach Andy made some comments about there’s only so many players so some starters have to play. Or something like that he wasn’t exactly clear. 😂
I’ll put it this way…. If our offensive line protects Wentz whether it’s starters or subs then we have a chance. I expect him to play well. Defense could be shaky.
I probably won’t try to get to the casino this weekend to make any bets as it’s going to be really cold and highway could be icy.
Good luck to everyone on their bets.

Wentz hasn't played much in the past two seasons. But when he did play, he has played well.

Of course in the first play he's in, he could ever so slightly, stub his pinky toe, be carried off on a stretcher, and miss the rest of the game. 😉

Wonder how this will affect the betting line?

I'd have to think that after sitting in an airport for an extended period, just to fly out to play a meaningless game, can't be a good motivator to play top notch football.

rant time, fasten your seat belt

my guy Greyserman shot 10-under in round 3 and was tied for 6th going into the final round today

last night I thought to myself, new year, new results. just a semi-decent final round is all i need and my first golf bet of '25 is a plate of winner, winner, chicken parmesan dinner and the tone is set for the rest of the year.

well, by the time he reached his last hole today he was only 2-under for his round (one of the worst in the field), but a birdie on #18 -- one of the easiest holes on the course -- wins my bet anyway. a par drops me into a dead heat and I lose 34$. a bogey or higher results in a hundy being lit on fire.

right on cue he drove it into the boonies, had to take a drop and made bogey on a hole that was playing more than a half shot under par. of course he did.

at least a handful of times last year i dropped on a guy who wilted at the tail end of a golf tournament and cost me money. my very first bet of '25 and it happened again. i am so effing mad. not at the benjamin i parted ways with, but that this keeps happening.

if that wasn't the gambling gods speaking to me, idk what is. will i listen and stop with these agonizing T20 bets? tell you what, i'll make a deal with you, gambling gods. the moment basebal publicly agrees with something that someone says on here, i'll stop. but until then, i'll continue to bask in the torture.

so in other words, get ready for a titshon of losing golf bets over the next 360 days

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

I followed you're playing throughout as well as my 2 duds. I was out early. I almost went with Theegala, but changed to Homa and Bhatia. They made Sunday moves, but too little too late.
Back to you're play. After I saw your position after Saturday I thought you would score. As u said 6th into Sunday. Last year I had 2 weeks in a row with the same golfer fail on the last hole to hang on for top 20. Bogeyed the 18th 2 weeks in a row same golfer. So I can sympathize with your mood. It's bad enough to lose but to have you're nose rubbed in it with these types of losses is the killer.
I am only down $15 to start the year, but will probably back off golf until the NFL
is over. And see how the players shake out as they gear up for Magnolia Way,Amen Corner. Plenty of time to make amends. Best of luck going forward on any golf play to you.

I did need GB ML to win for my 3 game parlay. Lost 1 other parlay, but scored on other 2 for a small profit. So all is well. Am not a big player so happy to eek out a score here and there.

I think it's good to come on here and let off some steam. I wish there were forums like this back when I was gambling some serious money on sports betting and other chit.

When I was at Penn State main campus, I was strong as a bull. At that time the football players shared the same weight room with the students, and I could outlift most of them.

Anyway, so one Sunday evening I was in my mid-20's, I decided it was a good idea to take a quick ride down to A/C for some quick action. There was one casino down there which was around five miles or whatever from all the boardwalk casinos, and it was perfect for a quick Sunday evening in and out, not much traffic, etc.

Anyway, so I get slaughtered at the blackjack table, and then even worse at the craps table, and I'm steaming. For those who know that casino, on the way out there's a bathroom right outside the casino floor on the walk to the parking garage. It's not used all that much for whatever reason. So I'm walking out and needed to take a poop. If it wasn't for that I would have just walked to my car and quickly drove away.

So i'm sitting there doing my business and all that time I'm steaming even worse because I just want to get the yell out of there. I finish up, ready to leave the stall and I snapped. First I lifted up my right foot and crushed it down on the metal toilet paper dispenser, knocking it off the stall wall. But that wasn't enough. Instead of just gently opening the stall door by pushing back the door latch, I decide to take both hands and rip the door off the stall wall. Detached it from the latch and metal bolts that held it. I literally had the door in my hands, and then just laid it next to the wall. My rage was quenched. LOL

So I'm washing my hands and considered taking something and breaking the mirror, but I knew I wasn't going to do it. However who knows, maybe a few seconds later as I'm still washing my hands, and the thought crossed my mind of the dam BJ dealer catching every 15 and 16 worldly possible, flashed into my mind, perhaps I would have.

Suddenly using my peripheral vision, I see a security guard burst into the room. Obviously he heard the noise. And I think to myself, "oh chit" now I'm in deep trouble. But then I think and realize that there's no security cameras in the bathroom. I also knew all that time that I was alone in there. He looked around, i'm not sure if he noticed the door or not because it was towards the back, but he saw I was alone there and I could see and feel him giving me the death stare. I calmly finished washing my hands, wiped them with a paper towel, and leisurely walked out. He didn't say a word. But all the way walking back to my car, I was just waiting for the. "hey you, stop" or words to that affect, and being taken to the security room for questioning. Fortunately the words never came.

The only good news is I never did anything like that again. I learned my lesson even though I didn't get punished for it. In reality it couldn't have been more than hundred bucks worth of damage, a few nuts and bolts needed to be replaced. The casino could easily afford it. Frankly over the years, I've seen a number of busted mirrors and broken fixtures in casino bathrooms. Not trying to excuse my abhorrent behavior, but others do it as well.

Again, if I had some fellow forum members to sound off with, I may have never done any of that in the first place. 😐

Even though am only down the $15, 1 $5 bet last week, $10 this week, just not feeling it to play much. Usually hit my stride month before Masters when the boys bear down. Then golf throughout the season as do not bet baseball except WS. Golf, NASCAR enough action for me. Either way am not a big bettor.
Looks like I will score 2 parlays i put in 9 weeks ago. $5 parlays: Joey Logano to win NASCAR Championship with division winners Detroit, Baltimore, Buffalo. $48.20. And $5 Parlay division winners Detroit, Buffalo. Pittsburgh Steelers ML game in October,LA Dodgers +1.5 in game 3 of world series. $19.46 for $5.

i'm sure i speak on behalf of everyone who frequents this thread, but how much you wager is totally inconsequential. not once have i ever taken notice of the size of your bets and thought, "bluejay is small potatoes." i mean if we examine this logically, you're the shrewd one and i'm the imbecile. if i unloaded the same amount you did i wouldn't be down 5 grand right now. so never perceive yourself as a "lesser" bettor, because i certainly don't view you that way and i'm confident that no one else here does either.

BLUEJAYWAY has my ever lasting respect after picking Mystik Dan cold in last year's Kentucky Derby. Paid around $40 if I'm remembering right.

That is extremely difficult to do cold. I'm sure I've played more horses, by far, than anyone else on here, and I never picked a $40 horse cold that I can remember.

I've had many $40 winners, a few over $100, but it was always betting multiple horses in the race, basically what I thought was a sucker odds on favorite, betting against it, and just catching one of the played long shots. Never a cold horse with odds that high.

I think a relatively safe parlay for next weekend might be……
    Ravens over Steelers
    Bills over Broncos
    Eagles over Packers
I think I’ll start with that and maybe add Chargers over Texans on another parlay.
Truth be told I’ll just be glad to get out of the house. I’ve worked at my current employer for 7 years and today is the first day I remember work being called off because of weather. 🥳

    I might copy this.

I 100% forgot to put Ohio State in my parlay, I'm really thinking the Rams are going to beat Minny

I also think Washington takes out the Bucs but I don't feel as strong about it as the Rams underdog play

Drew Brees is one of my fav player/people combos in the history of football. never once has he come across as disingenuous.

today he was on The Herd and told Colin that only once in his career was he aware of the line for a game he played in. he said he was always 1,000% focused on kicking the opposition's butt and blocked out all of the noise. but there was one playoff game (i didn't catch which one) where he stumbled across the line on a Monday and watched it move until the day of the game. he said the Saints were favored and the betting public backed them hard. what that did, he said, was give him added confidence that hey, we ARE the better team and everyone believes it. then they went out and easily covered.

    was quite interesting

Hurts is back at practice and Love is "Hopeful" he will play, meaning he will definitely play, how effective he will be willing remained to be seen.

I didn't realize Christian Watson was done for the year, also the Pack will be without Jaire Alexander

    Philly should smash the Pack

Following the lines usually if not virtually always tells what's going on in situations such as this. As info leaks out and bets made from that info. When the Eagles line moved from -3.5 to -4.5, that was a strong indication that Hurts would play.

Of course the key question is how well will he play? In my opinion he will be just fine, and could actually play better than normal for this time of the season, because of the nice rest. Especially when he runs when a play breaks down.

The key of course is Hurts. He has to focus off the injury, and especially in the beginning of the game, not throw any interceptions. If Hurts can do that, and with a rested Barkley, this game could get away from the Packers.

That being said, the Packers lost last week to the lowly Bears, and that had to tick them off a little bit. Every game the Packers have lost this season has been close. Certainly they're not going to quit. However if the Eagles play their best game and the Packers play their best game, I think the Eagles win this one.

The Eagles collapsed last season, and it may have been from Sirianni trying to squeeze too much juice out of his players earlier in the season. Seems like he learned from that, and the Eagles seem fresher. motivated, and ready to go.

Sitting Barkley was step number one in the right direction, I will give Siriani that much

It all boils down to the players being healthy and coaches making sound football decisions at this point, when you have a shot at an easy 3 points take it rather than getting stuffed on 4th and 2 in the red zone type decisions

Latest NFL season highlights financial risks for sports betting companies when so many favorites win

NEW YORK (AP) — It’s been a tough football season for sports books.

FanDuel and its key rival DraftKings have both showed investors that the house can indeed lose, or at least lose more than anticipated.

Flutter Entertainment, which operates FanDuel and dominates the sports betting industry with a market value of $45 billion, said the latest NFL season has been “the most customer-friendly” with the highest rate of favorites winning in 20 years. Altogether, the bigger payouts to bettors cut an estimated $390 million from the company’s revenue from most of November to the end of December.

Flutter Entertainment, which operates FanDuel and dominates the sports betting industry with a market value of $45 billion, said the latest NFL season has been “the most customer-friendly” with the highest rate of favorites winning in 20 years. Altogether, the bigger payouts to bettors cut an estimated $390 million from the company’s revenue from most of November to the end of December.

i played absolutely no role in this, but good

I did at some point but it quickly went south lol

Here's hoping you and everyone else here goes "north" during the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl.

    Thanks Steve!!

As anyone that does or has participated in betting on these games we all know it's a one way ticket to misery IF you take it too seriously and invest emotions as well as money into it

Latest NFL season highlights financial risks for sports betting companies when so many favorites win

Damn the Chargers suck. I mainly went with what I thought were the “big three” this weekend. Ravens, Bills and Eagles. Bet $500 on that three team parlay. Then added Chargers on a $100 four team parlay which they already turned into a loser.
If my Big Three all win I’ll be fine.

    Good Luck everyone

I need Buffalo, Baker Mayfield 250+ yards passing and the Rams tomorrow for a pretty sweet payoff.

I assume either Baker or the Rams will screw me, I feel pretty good about Buffalo ML

Need an easy one today? There is no possible, conceivable way the Celtics lose this upcoming game against the Pelicans.

Doesn't pay much some may say, and you'd be right. But 10k on the ML nets ya $833. Then you can go out and get yourself a brand new wide screen color TV. You can throw out your old 15" black and white TV. 😉

my book nixed the last leg of my lay due to the change of scenery, so my 4-legger ended at 3. ended up being a $138.64 winner, as opposed to either a $415.34 winner or a $130 loser. never kvetch about a profit.......especially when you're stuck deep like moi. B)

dropping on the Rams again -- this time with a bit of a safety net -- and stevek's team 🦅

    gl all!
