Need an easy one today? There is no possible, conceivable way the Celtics lose this upcoming game against the Pelicans.
Doesn't pay much some may say, and you'd be right. But 10k on the ML nets ya $833. Then you can go out and get yourself a brand new wide screen color TV. You can throw out your old 15" black and white TV. 😉
Well on the ML winning by 1 point is the same as winning by 50. LOL
surprised no one has touched on what Saquon did in the final minute. really classy kid. I guarantee you i wouldn't have been that classy. I would have housed that run and done the centipede in the end zone
lots of talk today about that move & all of the loot that was placed on him to score a TD in that game

The book makes it insanely tough to get positive money on him unless he literally runs for over 150 yards and has multiple TD's

Your boy Brady always put the team first, and he proved that by not accepting money he should have been paid, and told Kraft and Belichick to spend it on others who could help the team win. I always applauded Brady for doing that.
I'm not exactly equating Brady and Barkley, but Barkley is already rich. He slid for the team. What if a defensive player would have given Barkley one of those illegal tackles from behind, and Barkley got injured was done for the season? Barkly knew a first down ices the game, and that's what he did. Unselfish behavior, and disregard for records or additional money that he would never have time to spend anyway. We should be applauding that.

When handicapping an Eagles game, a good handicapper will presume that if It's 4th and one at the goal line, Hurts is going to tush-push the ball in for a TD. The Eagles have been doing it that way all season. If it's a bit farther than 4th and one, Hurts usually goes to his receivers, one of which not being Barkley. All that has to be factored in that some games, Barkley is not going to get a TD for those reasons, yet might still have a lot of rushing yardage.
I agree with ya about the books trying to make it difficult to make money on Barkley prop bets. But it depends on what ya call "positive money". Barkley has been hitting on at least those lower total rushing yard props all season. Yes the payouts may only be 10 or 20 or 30 percent, but I'm sure the whales have made a small fortune making large bets on these type of props. For example a sharp whale could spread a mil around at a number of books, and take in a very easy 100k or 200k or 300k for the day. In my view, that's positive money.
Fast forward to the later part of his career and he was hypothetically climbing to the top of the career playoff rushing yards record would he have done the same thing?

Brady cared about stats and that was evidenced by him throwing in the 4th quarter late in blowout games, plus he stayed in the games until the last snap, I crucified him and Belichick many times over that.
I'm not saying Barkley did anything wrong but I think it was stupid to be honest, he was 20 yards ahead of any defender and should have scored, the game was over regardless.
There I said it, I think it was stupid and I don't care if I'm wrong or not lol
But answer my question.
He was willing to risk injury to get the single season rushing record in a meaningless game
If this was the later part of his career and he was almost at the career leader of playoff rushing yards would he have slid?

Do you mean the game he was sat out? Come on now, he only said that to show the coach that he was willing to play if asked. Whatever the coach asked him to do, he would do it. Saquon didn't beach one iota about being sat out.
And the correct answer is yes, Saquon Barkley would have slid in the latter part of his career, I have no doubt about it. Frankly, I've always believed in most cases, these type of records mean more to the fans, than to the players.

Look Barkley is a by all accounts a great young man and a HOF running back and teammate.
I think him sliding was stupid and nothing you will say will change my mind, I'm not being disrespectful to you at all Steve I'm just saying we should just not continue on this because we will not agree.

Tough call on this game because it's uncharted waters. How will the fire affect the Rams?
I'd be sure at least some of the Rams players have family and friends negatively impacted by this horrific fire, if not themselves directly with their homes. Now they gotta fly to Arizona? Not sure if it will affect their performance tonight, if at all?

Tough call but the O looked pretty damn good on the opening drive
I'm sure they would prefer a home game rather than going to AZ but it was the right thing to do
There could be some Minny players from LA or have family there as well.
As we all agree it's a horrible situation far greater than any NFL game

Is it possible some player contracts have an incentive clause for breaking a record? Much like the bonus of +300,000.00 Mike Evans of Tampa Bay received for his 1000 yards gained for the year. Which ties Jerry Rice for 9 or 10 years in a row of +1000 yards per year. In this case for this player it meant more to him than to the fans.

Rams have sure made a "statement" thus far in a positive way. We'll see if that continues in the second half.
Be interesting to see if the same sort of "adrenaline" carries over to the Lakers in their NBA game tonight starting at 10:30. Big difference is it's not the playoffs or anything, like the Rams game. Just another game in a long NBA season. But again, might be some adrenaline going on there as well? We shall see.

Good point. I guess it depends on the player. They are all so rich these days that I doubt if any monetary incentive to break some record, that the extra money means much to them. However the bragging rights of achieving something like that may mean even more to them, or maybe nothing at all? Certainly a key stats achievement would perhaps better aid to get them commercial advertisements, and/or other opportunities outside of sports when their playing career is over.
Seems to me like a strange line on the upcoming Lakers game. The Spurs a lethargic 6-11 on the road with the Lakers a decent 12-5 record at home. Lakers with an overall better won-loss record. Yet the line is only Lakers -3.5?
Plus as previously just mentioned, maybe the adrenaline rush thing is in play for the Lakers as it seems to be for the Rams tonight. Perhaps one of the Lakers stars such as Lebron is out, I do not know.
if i eat this, not only does it mean i flushed two hundy down the drain, but it also means the Texans and/or the Commodes are gonna be playing in the champ game
and that's arguably worse than flushing two hundy down the drain
Decided against a parlay of all 4 unders. Odds much longer of that eventuality, odds of all 4 under's or all 4 overs. So a mix parlay involving the o/u. Over KC,Phil games with under in Det,Balt tilts. Going against the grain with the under Det,Balt games.

I definitely agree and I never bet all the same thing like that either
I'd have to think that with the Eagles defense, and relatively inclement weather, there's gotta be a lot of rushing on both sides, keeping the clock running, and resulting in a lower score game, covering the under.
Of course that probably means the over will cover by 20 or 30 points. 😆

I put the over for the Eagles game on 3 of my 5 parlay sheets. Zeroed out on those 3 sheets. Guess you could say I was 3 sheets to the wind.

Well on the ML winning by 1 point is the same as winning by 50. LOL
Great to see winners on the board! 👍
Awesome job 🍻
So this was a loser and you can throw in another $35 play that got thrown in the trash since Mayfield didn't throw for 250 yards.
Profitable weekend though made about $125
Interesting the NFL moves the Monday night game to Arizona, but the betting line doesn't move an inch.
Since it's now sort of like two road teams playing each other, I thought the Vikings might start getting more action?
it actually moved a lot Steve
prior to the change of scenery the line had dropped to a pick em, but once the Rams lost home field advantage it leaped to Minny -2.5
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
I’m not a believer in the Rams so I’m going to drop some money on the Vikings.
I was touting the Rams as a potential sneaky team to win a playoff game or 2
They are at full strength with Nacua and Cupp, I think they can give Minny a good fight
I'm not betting on the games outcome so hope Minnesota wins it for ya
hey ya Perkdog...
$125 might get me a piece of rusty old sheet metal, a noisy or broken motor, and some Miggle teams...
😡😠😡😠😡
And I think ordering this table... Would be out of the question...
🤣😭🙃...🔌🏈
I'm not sure which team I'd rather see the Eagles face on Sunday.
Either way, I figure the line will be around -3 Eagles.
surprised no one has touched on what Saquon did in the final minute. really classy kid. I guarantee you i wouldn't have been that classy. I would have housed that run and done the centipede in the end zone

someone stick a binky in the reaper's pie hole
earlier this season Saquon dropped a pass that a 5-yr-old could've caught and it cost me a 700$ swing
from that moment onward he's become one of my fav players in the NFL

If this was the later part of his career and he was almost at the career leader of playoff rushing yards would he have slid?
I'm thinking no
Shenanigans can happen anywhere there is gambling, but without question this situation wasn't one of those times.
I know you didn't imply that, just a joke, I think. 😉
Am locked in at +1.5 with Rams to complete my parlay bet. Bet it this past Thursday so missing out on possibly another +1 point.
I can't say I agree or disagree with you because neither one of us have talked with him about it.
Look Barkley is a by all accounts a great young man and a HOF running back and teammate.
I think him sliding was stupid and nothing you will say will change my mind, I'm not being disrespectful to you at all Steve I'm just saying we should just not continue on this because we will not agree.
I admire Barkley and that's the bottom line, I just don't agree with him sliding nothing more nothing less
Hope you hit it bro
darin has the Minny ML
bluejay has LA +1.5
i have LA +8
Minnesota 28
Los Angeles 27

No problem Paul. You know I always enjoy your viewpoints.
Right back at you my friend 🍻
That's the best outcome
Hope all 3 of you make 💵
I got 3 playa TD parlay we can add in to the mix that wouldn't hurt anyone
It's a "No sweat" bet, so if it loses I get a $25 credit
Had to do it on those type of odds so it's a dart throw without any risk
I can't say I feel real strong about either side so that's my only play, I don't trust either QB to get a lot of passing yards with positive money
Galaxy and blue jay…. Congratulations on your upcoming win I didn’t realize the Vikings defensive backs have never played football before. My mistake but I’m happy for you guys. 👍
I just noticed the Clippers have a home game tonight as well.
Did an advance parlay tonight. Nothing adventurous. ML Detroit,ML KC, Notre Dame+9.5.
if i eat this, not only does it mean i flushed two hundy down the drain, but it also means the Texans and/or the Commodes are gonna be playing in the champ game
and that's arguably worse than flushing two hundy down the drain

May do a couple of throwaway parlays.Parlay 1 All 4 games under. Parlay 2 under Detroit, under Baltimore, with overs Philadelphia,KC.
The over/under on the Eagles game is 43.5
I'd have to think that with the Eagles defense, and relatively inclement weather, there's gotta be a lot of rushing on both sides, keeping the clock running, and resulting in a lower score game, covering the under.
Of course that probably means the over will cover by 20 or 30 points. 😆
