A buddy of mine is adamant that Oregon is going to run over Penn State to the tune of him throwing $500 on them to cover the spread, he isn't a big bettor either so this is extreme for him.

Any of you guys looking at this game?

Sadly, Penn State under coach Franklin is notorious for losing big games such as this. This is probably what your buddy is thinking, and it's quite understandable.

But Oregon "run over" Penn State by a lot of points? I don't see that happening.

This may seem like an off the wall comparison. But it took Andy Reid a long time before he was able to win the big game. Andy was infamously known in Philly for his end of game brain freezes and baffling calls. He finally overcame it in KC.

Can Franklin do the same? It's possible, and it would sure be nice to do it against Oregon. Sorry to root against your buddy, but I'm never going to root against my Alma Mater.

That's your team Steve and when it comes to gambling it's irrelevant, your an innocent bystander standing by your team

Nothing to say sorry about, every gambler makes their own decisions and deserve what they get win or lose

That being said, if Penn State has to lose, I'll be glad that your buddy picked up some nice coin on it.

perk as a general rule i don't trust any Big 10 team that goes up against a high-octane squad from another power 5 conference

    so i like it

for the sake of your buddy, go 🦆

    I'm thinking of hammering Oregon -2.5, -6.5, -9.5 and -13.5

    Thinking of it 🤔

Galaxy is locked in to HS football.

I might suggest that Galaxy add at least one or two zeros to those wagers in the future. 😉

    @stevek

the thought has crossed my mind, but i have multiple zeroes attached to the Longhorns tomorrow and i need to see what happens there first

but here's another game going down tomorrow that jumped out at me. Allen is Kyler Murray's alma mater. they have a good team every year, and this year is no different -- they're undefeated & ranked #7 in TX.

North Crowley is ranked #2 in Texas and #9 nationally, so they should definitely be favored.

but by more than 3 touchdowns? far too many points again, imo.

i know I'm gonna get caught pretty soon......we shall see if this is the one B)

I could envision with HS football, the betting pools are likely if not definitely much smaller than most college pools. I would guess that a naive whale might grossly overbet a particular team for whatever reason. Maybe his son plays on the team, etc, which could mean some nice mathematical value in the odds on the other team.

if Texas had won that game i would have felt guilty about winning my bet. they played a truly disgusting game. 264 total yards to Georgia's 56 at halftime and their vaunted D got Georgia's backup QB the entire second half + OT......and they still lost.

and on top of that, i did indeed get caught with my HS bet.

great day thus far, let's see if the Ducks can keep it going

the Dan Campbell in me didn't want to do this, but it was the prudent decision to make considering there's a great white shark named Scottie Scheffler a shot behind JT

this hedge all but guarantees north of 200 in profit regardless of who wins, and the ugly figure below could sure use it

if JT finishes the deal i'll win a little more

Well I went to the well again and it bit me, I am furious at myself for cashing out on Stafford which would have won but I didn't think he was going to make that number at the point in the game when I had a cash out offer.

Of course I had a cash out offer on the Caleb Williams when he was at 90 yArds but didn't do it so it is what is.

i had a bet on Justin Thomas to win & another to finish top 5, and after the 3rd round he was ahead by a stroke.........over Scheffler. that obviously scared the pop tarts out of me, so i hedged. sure enough, Scottie went scorched earth in round 4 and won by 6 strokes. i'm gonna hit that dude hard next year -- something i didn't do this year. he's dominating the sport in a Tiger-esque fashion and it's a crime not to make $ off of him.

as far as my "fun" 21-point teaser went, it's actually quite.......funny. the only game i lost was MY team getting 24........and they lost by 25. like i said up above, if that's not a sign idk what is. sometimes i think the gambling Gods speak to you, and they spoke to me yesterday. "oh really, you think this is gonna be a fun bet? watch this...." 😅

here i was thinking that the Bears getting 24 was laughable, because they were going to come out like gangbusters now that Eberflus was history. the interim coach invigoration. no wayyyyyyy would they lose by more than 24. then this happened. :D

    we are an unmitigated disaster

Well I share your pain on that game live betting Williams to get North of 175 yards when he was at 92 and had a full quarter of garbage time, the best part was I had a cash out for 2 seconds and it disappeared faster than the amount of time Williams made any progress on my 175 number.

And I lost money on Purdy as the frosting on my cupcake

everyone knows who Colin Cowherd is. i actually like the Herd when i can catch it, but he does come across as a know-it-all.
he gives out his "blazing 5" picks against the spread every week. check out his YTD results:

    Week 1: 1-3-1
    Week 2: 2-3
    Week 3: 3-2
    Week 4: 1-4
    Week 5: 2-3
    Week 6: 3-1
    Week 7: 2-2-1
    Week 8: 2-3
    Week 9: 3-2
    Week 10: 1-4
    Week 11: 2-3
    Week 12: 1-4
    Week 13: no picks
    Week 14: 2-3

    YTD: 25-37-2
    YTD ROI: -22.7%

either he doesn't know quite as much as he thinks he does, or gambling is hard, or a combo of both

Only a $15 play but had Higgins caught another ball for 3 yards and Turpin one more for 6 yards I would have cashed for $653

Didn't hurt cuz it was only $15 but stung a bit to come so close

Oh definitely, I would have preferred to lose by way more legs, parlays are tough enough let alone same game parlays like the one I played, I should have dumbed it down because the meat of it is with the TD scorers, my own fault really

    close brother 👆

i caught a 2-outer on the river last night. i was so dead. i had visions of losing another one by a point, then out of the clear blue sky Chase roasted a db for a td with about a minute left.

all i could think about was Cowboys bettors. talk about a horrific beat. getting anywhere from 4.5 to 5.5 points, 2 min warning with the game tied, Cincy punts, gets it blocked, a Cowboys touches it on Cincy's side of the 50, a Bengal recovered, the Bengals drive for a winning FG, then Chase breaks loose and 4.5 to 5.5 points is no longer good.

i go over 44, blue goes under 49.5, and we both somehow managed to exit unscathed. whew.

These type of games is why I been staying away from betting on the outcome of the game, I just don't want to subject myself to that kind of misery so I chose player props which entails pretty much the same type if not worse stress lol.
