I guess the Eagles should have not been partying all offseason.

Why would they have been partying off season? The collapse at the end of last year should have shamed them into working harder. I didn't see that game, but it looked from the highlights that the secondary failed again.

This team is going nowhere. They are either headed for has been territory, or think they are going to the country club every week.

Sure not looking good at this point in time.

Super Bowl winning teams, or even Super Bowl contending teams, simply don't lose games like that one yesterday. Can't refuse to accept the situation. It has turned bleak.

If there's any good news to come out of this past week, is that the NFC East may be so bad this season, that the Eagles may still win it, and at least qualify for the playoffs. Maybe sign Nick Foles again?

That's what has gotten my adopted team, the Bucks, to the playoffs. The rest of the division is so bad, the Bucks "fall into the playoffs." That might change this year. New Orleans looked good against Dallas playing the Cowboys at home. The game against the "Carolina Kittens" didn't count, but Dallas got my attention.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if a dark horse won this season's Super Bowl. A team that not many thought could win it before the season began.

Long way to go - we shall see.

We’ve all seen teams start 1-1 or even 0-2 and turn it around. No fan base should panic yet, except maybe the Cowboys. They are in playoff form rather early.
They remind me of the Dolphins. A team that relies on finesse and speed and gets punched in the mouth up the middle where neither speed or finesse matters

The 2001 Pats started their season 1-3 and still won the SB that year.

Eagles had a good week of practice, and I'm looking for a win on Sunday.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

Very nice last minute win for the Eagles today. Takes the season record to 2-1.

Saints scored 91points in their first two games. But only 12 points today. Excellent defensive effort. That being said, overall the offense has work to do.

Saquon with a lusty 147 yards rushing and two TDs in this game. Thank goodness for the superb acquisition of Saquon, or frankly the Eagles might be staring at 0-3 right now.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

I don't closely follow every team and every player as some here do, and my hats off to great fans such as that.

But I would think you'd have to be hard pressed to find a better running back than Saquon Barkley right now. He has 351 yards rushing and 4 TD's, leading the league in both categories.

Frankly, without him, the Eagles might be in the running for a high draft pick next year.

Very disturbing loss last week against the Bucs.

I thought since the Eagles got stomped in the playoffs last season by the Bucs, the Eagles would see this as a revenge game, and get some payback.

Instead the Eagles got crushed again.

If the Eagles can't beat the Browns at home next Sunday, they may want to consider forfeiting the rest of the season.

The early line on this game was Eagles -6.5

The big boys jumped all over that line, and is now Eagles -9.5 last time i checked.

The Eagles can't possibly lose this game, can they? 🤔😨

if Cleveland beats Philly in Philly this coming weekend, i think stevek should be forced to take mistlin to dinner, and he can't order alcohol

but i want it to play out like the Seinfeld episode where Bania gives Jerry an Armani suit in exchange for a meal, but when they get to the restaurant Bania says he's not hungry and is only getting soup.......and he'll save the meal for another time

If the Eagles can't win today's game at home against the hapless Browns, if there is any life on the moon, the boos coming from the Linc will be heard there.

How was that extra point good?

Yes, a blocked Eagles field goal attempt, returned by the Browns for a TD. Instead of the Eagles leading it 13-3 at the half, and cruising to an easy win, the score is tied 10-10.

They gotta f*g be kidding me?

  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

Can't say I'm unhappy about the win. Without the play mentioned, the Eagles win the game by 14 points.

That being said, it wasn't exactly an exemplary performance against one of the weakest teams in the league.

Browns kicking that field goal at the end of the game was ridiculous. They were just giving up any chance to win.

Completely agree. I was so glad to see them kick the field goal. Our defense was gassed by the end of the game, and a pass play would have been a far superior call.

Nice win for the Eagles Steve…. the Bengals don’t have a good record but thrashing them like the Eagles did isn’t easy. And any day when the Raiders and Bengals both lose is a very good day. 🥳

  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

Nice clean win today on the road for the Eagles. Saquon with another solid performance and Hurts with no picks.

Eagles have shown that they at least have some chance at the Super Bowl. I'll take it.

Nick Siriani is the biggest moron for not taking 3 points rather than going for it

I'm probably going to lose this game because of this MORON

Sorry for the rant in your thread Steve, I'm ok now but would have been infuriated had Jax won that game

I'm coasting a long feeling fun and happy while they are up. 22 to 0 then I see that they wanted to make it a "Made for TV Special" and make me sweat the game

The thing is, I can only agree with ya about Siriani. I scream at the TV not to do what I know he's probably about to do, and the dam guy never listens to me.

As a head coach, there's a time to gamble and a time to be conservative and just play straight football. But dam sometimes he just doesn't seem to understand one from the other.

However I must admit, the Eagles are 6-2, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining too much.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

Saquon Barkley - I may be forgetting a player or so, but Saquon may be the greatest free agent the Eagles ever obtained of all time.

Today - a lusty 158 yards rushing, and both a rushing and receiving touchdown. 😊

It's not only Siriani as we both know, it's the thought process of these guys to go with analytics and it's ridiculous

They are 6-2 and are a good football team but the thing is you can only go to the well so many times, it will bite them at some point and it could be a playoff game like when that Neanderthal rah rah idiot Dan Campbell gave away several FG's in the NFC Championship game and it cost them the game eventually.

It drives me crazy, just in general not because I do or don't have money on a gane

    Philadelphia Eagles -7.5
    Dallas Cowboys +7.5

Wow - Cowboys +7.5 at home against the Eagles? I mean the Eagles aren't exactly reminding anyone of the 1985 Bears.

The books sure aren't giving the Cowboys any love, and I guess deservedly so.

When i posted this, I didn't realize that Dak would be out.

Lots of possible weird chit going on in this game. The Cowboys coming off three straight losses is one motivation. The media calling their season for dead is another motivation. Being at home is another. But I think the biggest motivation is a team usually wanting to step it up for the backup QB. The Eagles over the years as well as many other NFL teams, have a nasty habit of allowing opposing backup QB's in their first start of the season off a starting QB's injury, to make them look like Tom Brady in peak form.

That being said, unless the Eagles hand out picks and fumbles to the Cowboys like early holiday presents, I don't see how the Eagles can lose this game. Possibly an Eagles blow-out or a relatively close win are the only two logical scenarios.

Eagles will then be 7-2 for the season. They need the win to keep pace with the Commanders.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

What's the score? Is it close? I've been outside doing yard work all day. Dam leaves again seem to come back every year.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

Commanders lose a close game today, and the Eagles now stand alone at the top of the NFC East.

Still a long way to go in this season, but so far I'll take it. 😊

Washington is starting to look like they lost their luster, they were very fortunate to win against Chicago with that circus play and straight up lost to Pittsburgh

I don't think they are any threat to Philly

The Chiefs are going to run out horseshoes one of these days. They starting to remind me of last year's Eagles who won a bunch of games during the first 2/3 of the season and then fell on their faces.
