Which is why to those its only an investment they can so quickly dump their collections and move on the the next hot/en vogue thing of the minute.
As of now all the folks that I personally know who jumped on the bandwagon during pandemic bubble have jumped off. All except one took heavy negative ROI's. - the reason for my smiley is I warned each one of them and they insisted I was wrong so nice to say I told you so. BTW the other one did make money as he did take my advice and avoided Junk Wax!

This is one of my favorite sets from the non sport world. The character is one who has left an indelible mark on global culture for seven decades, making his literary debut in 1953. His globetrotting adventures took the reader, and ultimately the viewer, to the most exotic of locales, tantalized them with the most beautiful and mysterious women, introduced them to the finest spirits known and gave us the belief and hope that there were organizations operating in secret across the globe to thwart evils, right wrongs and protect the world from the most villainous power hungry moguls whose only goal is the acquisition of resources, wealth and power with their ultimate goal being one of global domination. When one of these titans can’t be stopped within the confines of the law, and when things look their most bleak, there is only one unflappable agent to be dispatched that has the right mix of wit, charm, strength, cunning and experience that MI6 would entrust with a such a covert assignment; an operative whose intense loyalty to the mission and ability to get the job done are the primary reason he has been entrusted with the finest equipment, disguises and vehicles that the British government has to offer. And lest we forget, and perhaps most importantly, as a double O agent, he also has been given a license to kill.

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
Inspired by the beautiful card above posted by @rugbymarine , I'm posting these together because they're two beautiful images of young rookies that would end up in the Hall of Fame, they can be pretty tough to find and they're from the same set.

An incredibly important baseball event that featured some of the best players in the American League several of whom end up in Cooperstown, the incredible tale of the espionage of Moe Berg and some of the last legendary feats of the great George Herman Ruth. This is a fun vintage postcard that depicts both teams along with their facsimile signatures…

If you want to talk about the greatest heavyweight fighter, make sure you save room for Joe Louis. As one of the first popular black athletes in American history, in what was at the time America’s most popular sport, his legacy doesn’t really get the credit it is due. He paved the way for Jackie Robinson in lots of ways and his fighting record and impact on boxing are undeniable.

Tim, if that Transogram box is ever headed to PSA, I’d submit it as a whole box. Rarer piece than either of the 2 cards. I bought a Yaz figure in box about 6 years ago and I submitted the full box. Just my opinion, of course.
A fun, tough to find set from the Golden Age of baseball, these photos were sold via mail in offer and at stadiums and ballparks across America; here’s the big four stars and the original envelope:
1949 All Star Photo Pack - Stan Musial
1949 All Star Photo Pack - Ted Williams
1949 All Star Photo Pack - Joe DiMaggio
1949 All Star Photo Pack - Jackie Robinson

One of the last playing days items issued in his illustrious career, these guys were issued in packs of 6 in both 1969 and 1970 with 14 total subjects having been released; the lineup gets shuffled to make a set of 12 and 12 for each season with 10 unchanged and 2 swapped for two more. For kicks, I’m including images of the item in its original dated packaging (not mine). Currently, PSA does not grade this one but it’s a pretty awesome card nonetheless…
