Some pretty cool coins have shown up in recent threads, so how about a thread for some more of the best?
Chopmarks, hobo nickels, counterstamps, love tokens, potty dollars, presentation pieces, parking lot finds...
Members here have more than a few great pieces...(@OriginalDan, @HoledandCreative, @habaraca, @BustDMs )...
Post your good stuff, stuff you wish you'd won, national treasures, whatever!

    Tried to keep it US Forum-relevant, but I collect chops from all over. @OriginalDan has definitely got me beat when it comes to range and the really rare stuff, though.

    Was given to me as a gift because i love the movie ALIENS. I think it fits under the hobo nickel category?

    @jayPem , The coin was probably stamped in South America in an unknown location, as it came from a collection of coins from South America. I would be interested if anyone has seen a similar counterstamp.

    Sort of.
    However, i suspect that this one was not carved on a genuine Morgan Dollar.
    It is likely that it was struck that way on a non-silver blank (possibly in China).

    Probably a fake stamped coin. Still cool to me. Was better than getting another necktie. :)

    The original comment was tongue-in-cheek, in a thread meant to celebrate altered coins. Most folks who click on this thread probably understood the context and the comment. But then again, most folks don't feel the need to drop into every single thread and drop some worthless two cents. I make this post at the risk of further derailing a cool thread, but in hopes that less derailing of threads may occur going forward.
