Post Your PCGS Toned Lincolns!

Latest purchase, ex Winged Liberty and MonsterCoinz. Very excited to see this one in hand, it's the first purchase I've made for my circulation strike set in almost a year (excluding PCGS submissions).

Here are my latest purchases:

• 1943-S MS66 (the first toned steel cent in my set)
• 1960 SD PR65BN (pop 2/0 for the small date variety)
• 2009-S PR68RB

a couple in my potential submission pile - what can I safely use on the steel cent? acetone, MS70, distilled water?

No idea. It is something I will start researching at some point in the hopefully near future as they really are quite neat.

Copper is very reactive with many other elements. Copper turns to blue with many sulfur derivitives such as sulfur dioxide gas or most probably in coins with sulfur that was resident in the paper storage flips used many years ago. As a reference architectural copper turns bluish or more like aquamarine when exposed to the atmosphere. Older copper coins are bronze and their toning is unlike pure copper.

Here are some untoned and some toned proof Lincolns that were graded last year.

Here are a couple nice modern Lincoln Proofs with great color! The 99-S is a 68RB and it is the best I have seen. The 2003-S has minimal color but is a top pop

Three of the prettiest 1961 Proof Lincolns i've ever seen -- 1961 is the monster year for proof lincoln color.

1939 Proof with some color. But more interesting is the re engraved die on the from coat. Variety Vista shows one re engraved die for this year and I think this may be a new one.
