Latest purchase, ex Winged Liberty and MonsterCoinz. Very excited to see this one in hand, it's the first purchase I've made for my circulation strike set in almost a year (excluding PCGS submissions).
1914-D MS65BN PCGS CAC Definitely PQ compared to most examples of this key date in this Gem Brown grade.
1914-D MS64+ BN PCGS CAC
Nonetheless, I can't bear to part with my amazing "blueberry" MS64+BN PCGS CAC specimen. These are nice troubles to have.
1909-S VDB MS64+BN PCGS
I also recently got back a nice raw S VDB that I've had for many years, which also came back MS64+ BN. I may have to start a second set.
Feeling blessed today (and gave to a couple of Ukraine charitable organizations). Wishing you all Happy Holidays and that you STAY WARM!

Here is (still) my favorite coin in my collection.

I’ve admired that set for about 15 years. 🤗 Love the 1910……..1909 is no slouch either.
I am reasonably certain that at my age (ahem) I will never get much higher in the rankings of the Toned Lincoln, Wheat Reverse registry set than I am now ... and that's completely OK! I still can find the thrill of the hunt, and nab an occasional unicorn prize like this Gem Brown 1914-S Lincoln, one of the toughest S-mint issues from a tough decade in this grade. In hand this piece far exceeds the Trueview, showing flashy luster complementing great rose-blue tints consistent on both sides. I was really glad to get this one.
Very nice. Out of curiosity, do you know how copper gets blue toning like that?
Copper is very reactive with many other elements. Copper turns to blue with many sulfur derivitives such as sulfur dioxide gas or most probably in coins with sulfur that was resident in the paper storage flips used many years ago. As a reference architectural copper turns bluish or more like aquamarine when exposed to the atmosphere. Older copper coins are bronze and their toning is unlike pure copper.
Here are a couple nice modern Lincoln Proofs with great color! The 99-S is a 68RB and it is the best I have seen. The 2003-S has minimal color but is a top pop
@OldIndianNutKase I sent you a message in your inbox on the forums. Could you please look at it? I have purchased from you on ebay and have been trying to contact you for a few months now
A few Newps for our second Toned Lincolns set. Each of these is certified MS64BN PCGS. Our first set is getting so hard to upgrade that we decided to go for Set 2 in the interim.
1939 Proof with some color. But more interesting is the re engraved die on the from coat. Variety Vista shows one re engraved die for this year and I think this may be a new one.

Two upgrades (color-wise) to my set!
Here's a very neat memorial that crossed my desk, and one with a very interesting TrueView:

No idea. It is something I will start researching at some point in the hopefully near future as they really are quite neat.

I hope it “turns in the holder” that type of blue. Very beautiful color
