Sometimes, you find the coolest errors from South American countries. This is a nice example from Brazil, struck through a 90% capped die, mid-late stage mirror reverse brockage.

Bogota 1851 10 reales. Extremely scarce date of 2 year type when in good grade. Next highest graded an XF40 & finest auctioned last 20 years a cleaned AU50ish. There are 5-10 1850-dated known in MS, probably from a small hoard, as it is likewise almost unknown in decent grade aside from those BU examples. No MS 1851 10 reales have appeared or are are rumored to exist.

Here’s a crazy one. Officially holed and countermarked by Costa Rica in 1841-42. Later, once obsolete and unacceptable as money with a giant hole, plugged by someone who wasn’t ready to scrap the coin for its silver weight. And then, as you can see from the heavy wear to both the countermark and the plug, the coin received many years of service somewhere in the world. A true miracle of survival!

A deceptively scarce coin, forget KM on this one. Last year of type Chile 1897 silver peso, only 30k minted (1896 = 6 million). The 1897 has an abysmal survival rate due to debasement of silver in 1897: very few were put into circulation, perhaps a
handful exist. The finest (and only) example auctioned by a major firm in the past twenty years was a Fine, cleaned, chewed rims, and damaged and scratched both sides. It was sold by Steve Album recently for $1140.

2/3 of a very short set I'm working on. Brazil's 500-1000-2000 Reis from 1913. These were minted in Berlin.
Both of these are in old green holders and were freshly TVed by the fine folks at the PCGS photo department. Now, I've just got to find the 1000 reis in the OGH to finish off the set!

Rare and just possibly unique Ecuador one sucre 1884 Birmingham pattern or trial strike in copper on a thick flan, the only example I could trace being the Waldo Newcomer example. Coming up for sale Heritage NYINC 2022/01, in a severely graded NGC61 holder. Guessing they didn't understand the planchet voids as made, looks way better than that grade implies, is quite thick, and really cool IMO.

I own the Medio Sucre set (ex-Farouk). I wouldn't be surprised if both the fully struck pieces in both denominations and the uniface strike pieces in both denominations are all unique.
Unfortunately, the color of the above piece makes it appear as though it's had a tough life--rightly or wrongly.
By the way, if you want to promote your sales, that should be on the BST, not really here.

Never say never. After I get the crowns done no where to go but a matching 8E set.
The 8 Soles just all happen to be the finest graded. All fell into my lap a bit.

I'm a day late but I couldn't be happier with the grading results I got back today. The first coin I cracked out of an old slab that said VF 30 and the other two coins I purchased raw.
