I too suffer a lot from "operator error".
Some days perfection and other days, disaster.
I am really pleased with these pics.
They capture the deep cameo of this coin.

That is a beautiful medal. I just sent in a fairly large order of various coins, tokens and medals.
I sure hope they grade them all. And trueviews also.

Plus sending into NGC, ANACS, SEGS & IGC. Should be an interesting 100-150 items.

I love the Colorado mountain and mining motif on this one.

I'm also grateful hat PCGS is slabbing these GAR medals now.

This white metal medal has very flashy fields which aren't evident in these photos. I wish they shined like the modern proofs that Phil does. Something to think about addressing in the future!

Well, I would say you knew what you were doing and confident enough to do that. So, that’s even better!
I’ve only done that once and it didn’t cross. I kinda knew it wouldn’t but thought to give it a shot.

@coinsarefun Great question. I marked the form as MS65RD as a minimum All the MS64RD TV in Coin Facts have quite a few marks in the fields.

Howard C. Weinberger is considered one of the founding fathers of Space Collecting, with a specialization in coins and medallions. He is the one who uncovered the full background of the Robbins Medallions and authored two books about them, providing all the historical data, including which were flown. He also published the research on the Fliteline Medals as well as the Apollo 13 and Apollo 14 Franklin Mint Medals.

His influence is far reaching as he was also the one to get Numismatic Guaranty Corp (NGC) to agree to certify the Robbins Medallions, followed by the Fliteline Medallions, the Apollo 13 and Apollo 14 Franklin Medallions and then all the medals related to Space.

Weinberger is known to have a keen eye for what would become popular among collectors. He was the first to assemble a collection of the gold Robbins Medallions and paid large sums to acquire them when people thought he was crazy.

Over the years his expertise has been sought out by collectors, dealers, auction houses and journalists. After many years, parts of his collections have come to market for collectors to enjoy. Many of the finest Medallions that have surfaced for sale can be identified as from his collection by the certification letter being addressed to him from an astronaut.

Expensive because of the collection it came out of and only the second that Heritage has ever offered. It was offered in their Space and Memorabilia auction. I also bought a number of other medals and coins. Bought a set of 20 silver coins by Franklin Mint that the sterling silver coins had flown Apollo 13 metal in them. The set I bought had been owned by astronaut Alan Bean. I need to find a way to get the 20 graded and kept together.

I promised myself I wouldn't spend stoopid money on a single US coin but man I gotta get another 1824 "over various dates" half (regret selling my AU58) and all the cheap ones either have hits around the date or too much toning. Gotta be able to clearly see the 4/2/1/0 or maybe it's just a 4/2/0 but I'm pretty sure I see a one in there 2, i mean too.

Seriously……PCGS slabbed as a authentic? I thought they were finally slabbing struck copies and attributing them.
