    I had pre-graded these much harsher than what they ended up.

    Very happy with this sub!

    My SGC sub popped yesterday. 15 cards, I expected 10 gems and I got 9 and one 9.5. The rest were just cards I wanted slab or a test to see how they graded common flaws for an issue which was worth the price of admission.

    Yes, this appears to be accurate and very concerning. Sending in high value stuff for review, reholder or crossover is downright nerve wracking. I sent in a high end 7 for reholder as the top of the holder had a hair line crack on the top from crappy shipping. Card was great and totally fine. Received the card back with the corner creased not bent and in a new PSA 7 holder. I was simply stunned. Has completely scared me from sending high value stuff in.

    I’m curious what recourse you get on this

    Anyone know what the SERVICE LEVEL is for "Monthly Special 14" so I can determine the Through Date?

    I believe monthly specials are part of the quarterly specials. As of yesterday, they are 99% through August of 2020.

    The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Or the one.

    Yes, the Monthly Special 14 is the Jordan years (90's basketball) one. I have 2 of those in "grading" as well. Mine were received around the same time as yours but not entered until end of November. They both went into grading at end of May.

    It's really hard to know where they are at with the quarterly specials because we only know they've done 99% of August, but I suspect they are done most of September and probably much of October as well. I had a 9/15 quarterly special ship almost 2 months ago, so I know they must be done most of September by now.

    So If I have a March quarterly special, Value modern, and they wanted to mark it lol regular on outside package in March..... Lol what do I come under in terms of service? Value modern? Regular? Quarterly special? Lol I'm Soo confused. What CDT do I look at?

    They should be separated--it should show in your order area.

    I sent my Aug 2020 orders in together (delivered in Sept 2020), monthly special 14 and economy--they separated them. Economy was entered into the system in Oct 2020 and the monthly special 14 was entered Nov 2020. I already received back the econo in June 2021 and the monthly is in grading mode now for several months.

    Anecdotal only - but it *feels like more of these types of subs are happening than two months ago. I choose to have a little bit more hope than I did yesterday.

    Well,I put in 11 cards at VALUE MODERN in March. But it was a Special under march. Arrived all 4 21 . These were all value modern 2017 to 72 I believe. I appreciate you!

    I went in with my brother on this sub. It was his first since getting back into the hobby. I was pleased with some of the results, but they were very inconsistent with the grading. OPC rough cuts got hammered. One card came back with a sizeable corner ding- a Scott Niedermeyer UD rookie.

    I had some pretty high hopes for my junk era 1991 OPC and 1991 OPC premier hockey. The best cards from 2 unopened cases on each of those sets went into this sub. 10 rate was not great...

    I've taken some scans of some of the 9's. Pretty tough to swallow when they are in immaculate condition. I missed some glaring problems on a few cards like a stain on the Darryl Strawberry 1987 topps and a wax wrapper indentation on a Scott Niedermeyer, but it is pretty disheartening when the standards aren't clear.

    That's a LOT of 9s. It seems they're very stingy for you. :( For some reason I find it very hard to get high grades on those O-Pee-Chee Premier cards. They must be finding defects on some of these 9s that only an ant could see.

    I em encouraged by the timing of your sub for mine though. I have a modern one tracking about a month behind yours at all stages. If that holds, it should pop in maybe a week or so. Fingers crossed. Then I can be disappointed with my results too. lol

    Yikes, that means i probably have upwards of 3 more months before mine even hit grading and I'm guessing 3-4 months for completion once they hit grading. I hope the backlog is clearing enough that it won't be the case but when I mailed in Feb '21 I figured sometime around Feb '22. Keep us posted - I hope it goes quick now!

    thanks blur. I didn't want to get too crazy subbing since I'm new with ultra modern so I limited it to 32. But the best part for me is I pulled quite a few from packs or from breaks where I bought the players I like (bieber and other Indians pitchers and Soto). I was definitely happy that some of the lower serial # cards came back 10's like the Bieber (not Justin) red and the 2020 Soto orange. Still in the hole from my monster 76 sub of virtually all star 8's and 9's in commons, but I think this will definitely help balance the tide.

    was sotorized. skipped right over the bieber error. i think i have most of that run being subbed right now. couple of the artist proofs (think only 10), couple of the rainbow foils (/25 i think) and the red, blacks and sepia maybe? its been so freaking long ago, i forget. if you need any of those let me know…

    I used a middle man to send mine in - Bonsai Cards on Facebook. They provide the status of all their submissions so it is a good way to watch the overall progress. My value modern arrived at PSA mid-January. Been in grading for months. They are showing their early Jan groups have moved to the next step, with Oct/Nov shipped. Stuff is moving.

    Woke up to some progress:

    23 card Value Vintage and 88 card Value TCG (Pokemon) moved into grading. Both arrived 12/21/20 and were entered 2/22/21.

    A 135 card Value Modern that arrived in the same box took a little longer to be entered (3/5/21) - no movement yet.

    a lot of members have been getting hammered on subs lately, so it was more along the lines of providing a glimpse of hope while providing clarification that i wasnt expecting a 74% gem rate like the previous sub posted. overall, things seem to be loosening up and/or perhaps they realized they were being overly harsh and reaccessed the current reaccessed standards. i think most would normally think a less than 50% gem rate on ultra modern seems kinda low.

    As a longtime, extremely loyal, and highly invested customer, I will state that PSA's sudden shift in standards (WITHOUT warning let alone acknowledgement) and brutally inconsistent grading quality is concerning. Plus, I may be old school and in the minority, but a headlining article letting us all know the esteemed opinion of the CEO is pretentious at the least. I don't give a flying flock about what he thinks but he is entitled to his opinion and thoughts. Posting it on the main site is arrogant and somewhat condescending to me. I personally would have posted the top 100 cards submitted in my customers' eyes. Is he somehow more knowledgeable because he bought the company? Maybe so. However, upon reading Mr. Turner's NUMEROUS bios and social media highlights online, I doubt he gives a flying flock what I think anyway. He comes from a world most collectors do not. Different generations, different definitions, I suppose. I just know the PSA I grew up with, is not the PSA that exists now. I guess ROI does drive all boats afterall, even in the hobby world. I have been waiting nearly a year for three subs now and I am supposed to just suck it up and Bruce Hornsby it? Nope, don't have to. That is an unacceptable timeframe to me. I am a collector not a flipper. Todd, delete if you see fit. Hell, everyone else in the media is doing it. Join the crowd. I have a sub still in grading that was entered in October. How the heck is that okay? It is costing me over 500 bucks but wth. Who cares, I have another that was entered a few months later costing me over a grand...still in R&D. Plus, I know I am going to get dissappointing grades. What a winfall!

    Depending on whose figures are to be believed- I calculate they've slabbed roughly 3.5 million of the backlog

    With somewhere between 5-9 million to go on bulks depending on whether the "claimed" figures in public tweets and conversations were inflated or actual. Even shut down its 4-6 more months work catching up at a minimum just to sniff below 2 million backlog= and that will be slowed by holidays.

    My averages I'm seeing are below
    Avg to hit grading = 124.5 business days
    Avg to pop = 53 business days.
    Poppage 9 to 11 months avg.

    Notes= they are hitting the meat of the backlog. Expect poppage but slower than you've seen before.

    They're into the months where the real panic submitting was occurring, that period where rates were increasing and collectors were trying to get in before a price hike.

    Curious to see how CTD dates fare through the next couple months
