What is the #1 thing on top of your Want List?

I do not have a list of 'wants' as far as hobby collecting goes... I have a lot of interesting things - coins and other items of interest. (Just saw a Red Fox run across the street in front of my house) So I just go along from day to day, enjoying what I have, occasionally adding something I find... Working, playing and having fun. I must constrain my wants to what could be spent/saved combined with patience and discipline not to get distracted. A tall order!

Right now, that would be a 1794 S-24 large cent in very attractive F-VF with great color and surfaces in a PCGS holder.

These are the pettiest top-of-the-list items here, I'll bet. I want to get the 2019, 2020 and 2021 silver eagles, just the plain bullion ones, I have all the rest of the Heraldic reverse silver eagles except the 1995-W. But that darned price of silver won't drop, so I am trying to wait it out before buying these. Patience.

Pssssst.... I'll share a secret with you. Take a real good look at the positions of the obverse stars on 20 cent pieces vs quarters, and learn how to tell them apart (it's pretty easy). Then watch the eBay Quarters listings for coins dated 1875. Every once in a while someone will list a very worn 20 cent piece as a quarter, especially if the denomination is not visible on the reverse. I have picked up 20 cent pieces for well under your budget limit this way.

I've been looking for a nicely toned 1837 no stars SMALL date dime with a minimum grade of MS64. I've been looking for an eternity and can't seem to locate one.

I don't have a written list, but if I did at the top of the list (in no particular order) would be a $3 gold, a $1 gold and a twenty cent piece. Those are the only 3 US denominations that I don't have at least one example of.

I just made a big purchase (by my standards) for the Type Set and I'm working on a Morgan Dollar Date set in AU and a problem-free run of Coronet Head (Middle Date) Large Cents in F/VF. These three sets are my "limit" at the moment and there isn't ONE coin that is making me obsess at the moment...

That is tough. I will pray for you and your family. Try to spend the month thinking of the good times y'all had and don't dwell on the fact that it's a ""F'd" up month". I know that's easier said than done, but please try. This may be stupid, but I once saw something in a movie that I thought was a great way to honor a lost loved one. Every year on the lost husband's (in this movies case) birthday, the kids and wife would get to together and eat his favorite food and watch his favorite movie. A simple gesture but a great way to celebrate the lost husband/father's life.
