I just realized and now you will know I can be a little slow on the uptake. Something you guys already know the two already offered are privy marks the next two are mint marks. I wonder why they just didn’t make the first two as mintmarks ? I wonder if it makes a difference ?and these were minted in Philly. so the real mint mark is no mint mark a/k/a struck in Philly

Has the mint commented about the June in stock date vs the October ship date?Personally. I trust the in stock date. The October date was put in the listing weeks ago and it might be accurate for the later ones. For back ordered coins, the in stock date has always been reasonably accurate

I don’t ever do pre-sales, for many of the reasons listed. It’s just not worth it.

Ok I get it

I am waiting to see how everyone feels about the privy marks. I can tell you that the V75 privy mark on the W quarters are weak and if the CC and O Morgans look like the W quarters I feel that there will be many unhappy buyers.
I too am interested in if the Mint will honor the June ship date. That is a game changer for the flippers.
Interesting times.....🤔

There is no downside to those that can flip 1 or 1,000 of these... June or December deliveries will just change the labels on the slabs 😉

The V75 on the W was an incuse privy on a hard coin.
These appear to be above the surface and are on pure silver.

Does anyone not have a payment method listed? I have two orders, one with a payment method and one like this
I have exactly the same problem.
In the PAYMENT METHODS section of the ORDER SUMMARY, is blank, no credit card info. That's why my credit card does not show pending transaction.I called the mint and got through... the lady couldn’t or wouldn’t understand what I was saying so I’m trying again. 😥
Why didn't you just ask her to add your payment info in the order?
I did... it wasn’t clicking. 😥
I called again and this lady said that she did see no payment method and she believes it will be canceled and she can’t do anything about it.
😭😭😭
Let me know if you hear a different answer.
I saw @jwitten said that a manager was going to call him. Hmmm.
I called just now, on hold for 70 min.
I just asked the lady directly to add my credit card info in my order, she said, she can't.
She kept saying before they ship they will send email to ask for credit card info.
I asked whether the mint would cancel the order, she said no.
I asked why some orders have the info, some don't. She said probably a system glitch. She kept saying the same thing again and again, I suspect she has a piece of paper beside her and she just read it.
Probably the mint is aware of the problem?1 -

Ok. So what are you saying? The privy marks will look like mint marks? I admit I was wrong on what people will pay flippers for these but I still think they will be disappointed when they see the privy mark vs. the mint mark coins.
I feel the O and CC are just gimmick coins which is why I didn't buy them. What does everyone else think?

they cancel and move on.

The other factor that made me hesitate is that these coins are being produced at the Philadelphia Mint which seems to be the worst quality coins. The Denver Mint produces such brilliant and proof like quarters compared to the Philly Mint. Just sayin.....😎

I had my CC block some recent charges from the Mint (proof gold eagles). I got an email from the Mint, which instructed me to rectify the problem in 24 hours to prevent cancellation. I called the Mint (after contacting my Bank to allow the charges), they re-ran the charges, and all worked out. I might be an anomaly.

That's what I thought.
But the lady kept saying exactly the same thing at least three times, since I tried to ask her from different angles. So, I think probably she has a memo kind of thing beside her?I don't know how the customer service works. If I were the manager I would tell every agent to be aware of this issue and answer the same thing. But obviously, yesterday one guy here was told they would cancel the order.
I am pretty sure, a while ago, I saw here somebody got email from mint asking for credit card info.

The privy on the W quarters was weak but I preferred it to these. These appear to me to be a raised blob with the privy 'mint' mark incuse in that - to me very artificial looking, almost too strong. These were the least 2 desirable to me of the 6, but part of the 'set' which I hope for, but likely will only succeed in getting these 2. The privy on the 75th Anniversary ASE looked a bit stronger than the quarters to me but that tye privy would be preferable to these imo.

after much roll searching, I figure that with millions of quarters made by both, and me thinking one does better… then corrected by new rolls, my current thinking is that quality is by luck. A pair of fresh dies from either will produce some nice looking coins.

Given the sheer number of these I thought they'd be available in relatively large numbers the first couple of days after initial offering.
A zillion of these will hit ebay once they ship. It's hard to imagine prices not settling fast.

I thought most would sell in oct-nov with ship notifications or something
In this feeding frenzy I’m thinking most will flip now
Current maintainer of Stone's Master List of Favorite Websites // My BST transactions0 -
And then flip again when the price goes up or down.
The delay in attainment is going to affect buyer/seller integrity.
As others have said, which I wholeheartedly agree, I would not sell these or buy these until they’re in hand. Other than through the Mint. Now riding the swell in PM's and surf.0 -

Flow chart me this:
1) Will these be collected with the Morgan dollar series by Morgan dollar collectors?
If yes, see #2 ↓
If no → there will be few collectors2) Will there be fewer 2021 CC or O Morgan dollars minted than the 1884S, 1889CC, 1892S, 1893O, 1895O, 1896O, or 1896S?
If yes, see #3↓
If no → there will be few collectors3) Congratulations! The 2021 CC and O Morgan dollars are now the keys to the entire Morgan dollar series. It's not strange that MS68, MS69, or MS70 examples are selling for $250 each. It's strange that they're not selling for $2500 each (or $25,000 each, see #2 above).

I imagine these will pop and fizzle. Privy marks are silly in my mind when it comes to "representing" a mint location. I'm guessing they will be in the $150-$190 range this time next year. Now, if the mint starts a series of these "vintage" designs over the next few years, I will retract my statement.

I think a price for raw in the 150 range is a reasonable long term expectation

this is from the 2021 gold proof coin thread
@cagcrisp said:
Currently the 2021 Gold Buffalo Proof sells for $2,790.00
That’s based on LBMA Gold of $1,850.00-$1,899.99
Premium for the Gold Buffalo to LBMA Gold of $1,850.00 is $920.00
That premium will Not go down.
IF next week the daily LBMA fixes are Under $1,850.00 then the Mint will drop the 2021 Gold Buffalo to $2,740.00
IF next week the daily LBMA fixes are Over $1,899.99 then the Mint will increase the 2021 Gold Buffalo Proof to $2,840.00…So, a proof Buff now retails for more than the raw UHR. (a crime, imo)

but the melt value on the uhr is much higher from '09 to '21Add $700 to the issue price to bring it up to melt. It's still selling for 50% above that--and that's raw. If you were lucky enough to get one of the 3,000 PCGS or 3,000 NGC proof likes, you can triple or quadruple that.
And again:
Are there more Morgan dollar collectors than Saint collectors?
Are there more people who can afford several hundred $$ vs several thousand $$?
Did the UHRs, with 235,000 fewer pieces, also sell out in 24 minutes? You can "Yeah, but..." all you like. The numbers don't lie. If these will be collected with the United States Morgan silver dollar series, they are now the key to the series.
Imagine being able to buy an MS69 or MS70 1899CC for $85 plus shipping.

Since the privy marks are in the normal mint mark location, I think many collectors will consider them as "stand-ins" or honorary representations of the real thing. If the "CC" dollars begin fetching higher prices than the "O" dollars (as is the case with most of the classic Morgans), it will indicate a significant degree of acceptance for the privy marks and the mint that each one represents.

This is an invalid comparison in my opinion. The 1899 CC was not minted as a collectible but for circulation unlike this 2021 version. Therefore the 1899 in a MS69 or 70 is more rare and much more valuable!

Mintmarks are more traditional in the hobby but "mintmarks" are technically "privy marks".
You could, in fact, argue that the "privy marks" are simply design elements in this case and, therefore, make them a distinct variety.
