It is not the best signature, so I am hoping that he rushed or something rather than it being any indication of any deterioration of his health.

When they issued the Legends cards, there was an arrangement with the HHOF that the living players would sign for $15 (it may have been $10, I would have to check my records) each if you went through Legends. Orr, however, did not participate.

They began 1992. I subscribed in 1994 and Bill Mosienko had already passed. Ultimately, five series of 18 cards were produced (1-1992, 2 - 1993, 3&4 - 1994 and 5 - 1996), with 49 players living (including Mosienko) at the times of their release.

Now, only 20 are still alive. I am happy to have finally gotten around to getting Bobby Orr, who can be reasonably argued to be the GOAT. (Personally, there is Gretzky by himself, then Orr and Lemieux in a dead heat, but that's just me after being a hard-core fan since 1971)

Interesting. I thought the same thing When I got this business card that I got from him a couple weeks ago. It’s that O in Orr on both and the Y in Bobby in mine.

I completed my Lee Smith rookie set.

2x All-Star, WS Champ, ALCS MVP, 4x Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, Was used as an emergency relief pitcher 3 times with 1 K!

Apologize in advance for the rookie Beckett question but I loved several of the Jordan signed cards in this thread. In the examples on the 1st page, how can you tell if the card is authentic / unaltered? I see an autograph authentication on the label but nothing about the card. And I don't really care about a numerical grades - more is the card and auto authenticated. thanks in advance for sharing some incredible stuff. Dave

A nice raw Mantle pickup, this is a great card that I am so happy to finally own. Typical of my collection it is lower grade but still really nice; the type flaws you (or at least I) can live with. His first ring and one of the few cards from the time period that depict the Clipper and Comet together.
