Today brought some anticipated lacrosse postcards. I picked up the far-left card a bit ago, but the other two came today. This is part of a three-card series featuring the Minto Cup game of 1910. However, upon arrival I saw that the two I got today are a bit smaller that the one I previously had and the backs are a bit different. So at least two series of these cards must have been issued.
I also got two more cards from a series advertising Don't Argue Tobacco. That brand was owned by Con Jones, a lacrosse promoter and team manager who was an early entry into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. I don't know if the series if complete at three cards or if there are more.
Todd Tobias - Grateful Collector - I focus on autographed American Football League sets, Fleer & Topps, 1960-1969, and lacrosse cards.

interesting how people would dress up in suits in the early 1900's to go to sporting events. i noticed people did that until the early 1950's.

A grouping of 1958 Topps Football Cellos for all you cardboard peeps!! The Giants cello is gonna get ripped in hopes that a Jimmy Brown is hiding inside, not sure exactly when. If I hit a Brown......Party Time.....if not......no regrets.
Don't quote me on this, but I believe the Giants team card is the pack with the best chance.

I’m sure one or more people will agree with me that, you need your own thread! Simply amazing sir!
@UFFDAH I am in total agreement here. You have one AMAZING collection. Looking
forward to it!!
With the recent run-up, Stan the Man's cards seem a bit underpriced. He is 11th All-Time in WAR according to baseball-reference. An amazing ballplayer and one of the all-time greats and I say this as a Cubs fan. While Musial was before my time, it seems he does not quite get his due. Glad to add this one to my collection.
To balance out getting a Cardinal - I added this Jenkins. For some reason this card never comes up for sale. PSA has only graded 20, with the last recorded sale in 2018. I like that it has a different picture and team than the regular issue. Not sure - but it seems like the Burger King Rangers are harder to find than many other teams. Could be that they just are not graded because value is not high.
I've mentioned before that I am friends with John's extended family, although I haven't seen John himself since he was maybe 8 or 9 years old. John signed a bunch of cards for his proud grandpa Jim to hand out to friends, or even just to the kids around the small town where Jim lives. Last time I visited Jim, he generously gifted me with this.

Previously, John's grandpa Jim had been kind enough to give me these:

Fresh back from PSA yesterday, if that counts. Had a bunch more in the sub but these are the nicer of the bunch. the Blockbuster hologram ive had since I was a kid and sent it in for sentimental reasons.
I just opened this thread for the first time, and noticed in the 1977 Topps Nolan Ryan as a PSA 10. This is a general question on current vs. prior grading standards (I was reading in another thread that the grading standards might be more strict nowadays???).
The name NOLAN RYAN -- you can see the "yellow" shading outlining his name that is in green. Is this acceptable for a PSA 10 in today's grading environment (has it always been acceptable)? Reason I ask is I have a Walter Payton RC with similar "yellow shading" over his name -- and I always believed the grade of the card would take a hit because the yellow outline (i.e. name/picture focus slightly "out-of-register").
Good time at the flea market today.
Super sweet lady at the booth.
$120 for the lot (gave her extra; I think it was fair for both of us)
She was super happy with the big sale and I was a kid in the candy store

I won't promise anything, but I'm planning on visiting John's grandpa again sometime in April. He has a stack of autographed cards from John that he pulls from. I've never been particular enough to ask for a specific card, although I've seen different issues in the stack than the ones I've ended up with. There may not even be a signed rookie cup in the stack. If there's one in there, I'll see what I can do, but again, who knows?

Pulled the trigger on this Pele rookie issue from a reliable seller in Sao Paolo. Hard to find without paper loss on the back from album removal. Already on its way to PSA, and from there straight to PWCC Vault. Hoping for a 2 or (gasp) a 3.
