True, but 269 is almost a full one percentage of the total mintage. Which is really a substantial percentage under normal circumstances.
It's all about whether they minted extras and how many. They are unlikely to retool for a run of only 269 coins.
IF they did what they normally do and mint an extra 1000 or so to cover returns, then they have some available. BUT, given the long lag in releasing any, I'm thinking they may have only minted the 30,000 coins. In that case, they have no extras on hand to release (they DON'T sell returns, they replace them). They aren't about to retool for 269 coins and they can't retool in two more days anyway.

So that pretty much means it's over. We're just waiting for them to hang up the SOLD OUT sign now. That's what I thought.
If there are roughly 250 coins left...everything everyone is saying is pure speculation and conjecture based on zero first hand knowledge. For all we know there were zero returns with this issue...or my personal favorite theory is that 200-250 coins were held back for eventual sale over the counter at the Mint gift shops...but that plan was likely scrapped after the firestorm of controversy erupted.
But again, that's just a guess on my part based on nothing in particular.
However, I bet those roughly 269 coins...assuming they do exist, will eventually be sold.
Ok...I get that they probably won't release anymore....probably would have happened by now... BUT, after over six weeks of no sales, why hasn't the status changed to "Sold out"? I understand the time lag for possible returns (no way) but SIX WEEKS?

There is always a time lag. Especially if there is consideration of filling the mintage. Look at the 2017 Enhanced Uncirculated Set. Sales ended up about 10,000 below the limit at 215,000 but they were unavailable for a couple months before they finally went to sold out.

This is not that unusual. And, yes, it is pure speculation. But it is speculation based on prior Mint issues.
See the 2017 Enhanced Uncirculated coins.
I would not expect 250 returns, mind you, although people do crazy things. But "returns", as I'm using the term, also includes things like missing coins, damaged coins etc.
The MInt has a standard 30 days+ policy to refund which sometimes take 2 or 3x that long for problems. I had a box show up one coin short in July and finally got credited in October.

Yes, they always ship randomly.

The gift shops at the Mint's are run by Aramark. All sales made from the United States Mint to Aramark are at arms length. Sales are recorded to gift shops just like any other buyer...Whatever coins that are not listed on the list released by Michael White aren't at the gift shops...
When they end this design series, and after the colorization hype of the BB coin commemorative, just imagine a silver eagle series close-out spectacular.
Mr. Ryder can say an eagle from each mint, maximum 25,000, but each available in red, white, and blue colors. Now all those would be the lowest mintage and make this coin a distant memory. The possibilities are endless, now that Pandora's Box has been opened.

Sales numbers have gone Down. Not Up...
I'm not talking about this coin at all. I'm talking about prior issues. The sales will often creep up without any becoming available online. The speculation had been that this was show stock of store sales.
TV prices: Just in. RP S ASE $4425 graded 70 from another TPG and there are 219 of them. And if you'd like one from the Baltimore show, graded 70 from yet another TPG and labeled 1'st Day of Issue....drum roll please.....just $9025 . I was wondering how much these would be, @Gluggo did you see this?
Ona I did not but thank you for bringing it. I don’t think I could stomach taking that much money from a uninformed person with to much cash on hand. But then maybe I could. Sort of glad mine is gone so I can move onto other type coins. The nightmare is over. what is strange is I do not miss that coin one bit.
I was hoping. Refreshing like a mad man from 6:20 to 6:40am. Last day of the year and all. Seemed like a logical release day

I told my neighbor who was lucky enough to get one. First coin he ever bought, never considered coin collecting before sold it on eBay and the scum sucker says he shipped one with the wrong mint mark. I was so proud of myself helping him, he had plans for that money.
Interesting, I checked the cert number for my coin, and it shows it was given the COA number, even though I submitted in an opened box. Maybe you DIDN'T have to submit in the sealed box to get the number on the holder??
I watched Mike Sleazak today and he was selling ANACS PF70 ERP's with loose COA's and the COA# not on the slab for $4400. FDOI of course. And he made a big deal that all the COA#'s were below 5000. SO WHAT! He had Baltimore ones that I forget but were about double or more. He also had Pride ERP's for $300. FDOI as usual.
Just got back my box from PCGS, and they DID indeed add the COA number to the coin slab, even though the coin and COA were not submitted in a mint box. Awesome!
I would like to say that I appreciate your checking and updating here every morning. One of the first checks I do in the morning is to look here and see if I have slept through the day I should have gotten up and tried. Not sure why, maybe because after one more run I will stop thinking there is a chance...
looks like the ERPS are holding steady for final sales prices and new listings are asking a slightly higher price these days (optimistic?) . Is the trend going to go up again? my local b&m predicts to "get out now while you can, they're going to die". of course they don't (by their own words) really follow moderns, had no idea about the 1-100 signed coa's, weren't fortunate enough to win one on release day "had in the cart but lost out. so my faith in their opinion on this coin isn't really strong. what do you see coming down the pike?

And if you'd like one from the Baltimore show, graded 70 from yet another TPG and labeled 1'st Day of Issue....drum roll please.....just $9025 . I was wondering how much these would be, @Gluggo did you see this?
Ona I did not but thank you for bringing it. I don’t think I could stomach taking that much money from a uninformed person with to much cash on hand. But then maybe I could. Sort of glad mine is gone so I can move onto other type coins. The nightmare is over.
what is strange is I do not miss that coin one bit.
Still only a 4 coin population at ANACS. Did Mike Sleazak use a different TPG?
Nothing today

I was hoping. Refreshing like a mad man from 6:20 to 6:40am. Last day of the year and all. Seemed like a logical release day

I agree. I set the alarm and at 3:30am I was up and hitting refresh also. I was hoping the last day of the year would produce but it was a no go.
All quiet on the Western Front this morning...
Nope, No New years day offerings.

Just got back my box from PCGS, and they DID indeed add the COA number to the coin slab, even though the coin and COA were not submitted in a mint box. Awesome!
Wow, cool.
Nada no release

I would like to say that I appreciate your checking and updating here every morning. One of the first checks I do in the morning is to look here and see if I have slept through the day I should have gotten up and tried. Not sure why, maybe because after one more run I will stop thinking there is a chance...
Go back to bed, you animals!
To steal an old joke, waiting for these every day is kinda like leaving the porch light on for Amelia Earhart to come home.
looks like the ERPS are holding steady for final sales prices and new listings are asking a slightly higher price these days (optimistic?) .
