Nice. So that means on 9-11 the bots didn’t get any. Still a chance!

Seems to be potential for the early morning trickle. It has taken six weeks to release a net +120 to sales # since restarting the weekly reporting....

    Now listed as sold out.

Not surprising in the least. They played so many games with this.

I don't get it - since as of w/e 8/23 they had =29,911? and then cancelled (-88) next week. Those were in part the 8/12 noon time release of 107 coins. Kinda screwy :p

Well the coin is now listed as sold out. I don’t get why because there should still be 177 coins left. We’re they lost?

Agreed. Should we start a new string of Eagle chasers that get up early with our alarms set at 7:30?

Being totally serious...did Cert #1 EVER SURFACE?

Is it in the potentially unreleased group of coins?

It wouldn't be impossible to think that last group might contain either some ultra high or low cert numbers - first in last out sort of stuff.

  • There are likely hundreds or more of these that were purchased and remain unopened in the original US Mint packaging. Most likely the #1 cert is there. Another possibility is that a collector uninterested in flipping it or publicizing their find has it in their home safe. Another possibility is what you suggest.

This will be the long held mystery for years.....where is #1...when it emerges, what will it be worth? It's out there....somewhere!

A question about number one. If you open the box and find you have number one does that diminish the value or compromise the integrity versus sending in directly to PCGS and they ‘discover‘ the number one for you?

Probably since PCGS wouldn't slab the COA, and the coin might not qualify for First Strike (or whatever they call it ) anymore. On the other hand, some of the boxes can be opened without detection and resealed.

Wonder if that means the remainder were found to be flawed?

I have always though that somebody important like the mint director or somebody of that calibre got the #1 coin, and for fear of letting that info out, it was kept quiet.

No. It will not be a reverse proof and it will not have a 30,000 mintage which was what everyone was after...
