Beautiful Yogi, MLB! Just curious: I notice your recent Yogi, Reggie and Torre pickups were all reholdered. Was that factor at all important to you in buying them, or would you have been just as happy with them in their original pre-hologram holders? Or did you have them reholdered yourself?

  • brad31brad31 Posts: 2,530 ✭✭✭✭✭

Nice Berra. Your cards have been amazing the last couple of months MLBdays. Thanks for sharing.

@PaulMaul ... that wasn't a factor at all...just the merits of the card are evaluated. I only re-holder if the holder is in bad shape which is fairly rare. Thank you for the feedback!

Well I must say they look even better with the lighthouse holders! Congrats!

A few more Roy's to add in. These "St. Patrick" cards have me captivated right now:

Thanks to some eBay bucks action, I just scooped the Scooter! Pretty nice example of the card and I will get it done soon enough; crossed to a PSA slab, that is. This time, though, I grabbed his actual rookie card. I’m working on a self created set of representative rookie cards for the Yankees who have had their number retired. While PSA has their own similar set (I’m working on that, too), I prefer a few of the ‘first card rookies’ to some of the more arbitrary ones. For example, 1933 Goudey was closer to Ruth’s 20th season, 1939 Playball was Joe DiMaggio’s 3rd season and 1948 Bowman was Phil Rizzuto’s 7th. So, without further ado, here he is and HOLY COW does he look young...

This 2007 Ultra card is nice.. In fact so nice that they used the same picture (ok maybe a split second between the two) on the front for 2 consecutive years!

I do like the complete stat line on the back of the 2007!

So I purchased this rare 1/1 Rookie Mookie last year during the MLB season. I decided to get it reholdered and it recently came back. Went on the PSA Website and it looks like they got a nice scan of it while it was there.

So much fire. I'm legit jealous of this. Congratulations!

Love that you try to stay consistent and get things in the new flips, I'm the same way.

Interesting fact: It’s actually different people but when you sat in those seats during the Griffey years you had to put those clothes on during every at bat.

They were in little bags under the seats. Nobody seemed to mind.

Little known fact, the Seattle fans would not do this for him. Once he moved to Cincinnati the fans loved doing this. I am glad Ultra caught the moments.

Sweet relic of a fading Ultra brand who apparently fired their photographer and creative designers.

    Nice pic anyway.

Like the Keller cards, Ive been secretly stashing Kingham cards.

pulled a 2017 bowman platinum keller auto last year and never heard of him. found out recently he's picking up steam so I picked up a few more for the hell of it. even though his 1st Bowmans were 2014 I think, it wasn't until 2017 that he started signing cards.

It's like signing the card is a jinx.

Borrowing from an SNL News joke about the death of the "world's oldest living person" where they mention the relatively short reign of the two previous titleholders.

    Cool item, btw.
