How is that loss on Belichick? How about on Brady for taking a sack with no timeouts left inside the 10 yard line at the end of the first half? Those 3 points sure would have been useful.

Had a WR or DB been in at Free Safety like they SHOULD have been rather than Gronk they probably don’t score on that.

This is the dumbest play since New Orleans threw away the playoff game to Minnesota last season.

An unnessary loss that will probably be indicative of what the postseason will be.

That loss wasn't on Brady or Belichick. You can say its either the Kicker missing two kicks that would have put 4 more points on the scoreboard or ultimately the Pats prevent defense not touching the guy carrying the ball until he was crossing the goal line.

This loss goes to the defense and the kicker. The defense could best be called spotty for the whole game, and then it fell to pieces or quit on the last play. There is no excuse for this. Where was the pursuit? Nowhere.

KC won so the Pats are 2 games behind the Chiefs in the loss column. Houston loss so the Pats still hold the tie-breaker there but a Chargers win today drops the Pats into the 3rd seed. Chargers lose and NE stays at 2.

Chargers are in the same division as KC so only one can get a top 4 seed. One will get a wild card even though they have a better record than other division leaders.

The loss definitely hurts the Pats chances in the playoffs. They needed to score some more points in the 2nd half, they got deep into Miami territory 3 times and came away with 6 points.

I told my friends watching the game that they should have gone for it on 4th down with 16 seconds left rather than kicking a meaningless field goal. Even if they didn't make it, the Dolphins would have had to drive 96 yards in 10-12 seconds with no timeouts.

That lateral play works like once a decade. I imagine they won't put their hail mary D in next time in a similar situation.

Totally agree - The Dolphins were too far for a Hail Mary, a faster, better tackler would have been better. Don’t usually question BB, but felt they were too conservative. Should have put them away. Off to Pittsburgh

The offense did their job by putting up 33 points on the road in a stadium/climate where they usually have problems. Its easy to say they needed more points but how about the seven defensive backs and Gronk that were back in prevent defense making one stop. They had enough points to win had the defense not let Kenyon Drake waltz into the end zone.

Saw the highlight while watching the Chiefs game. Couldn't figure out why Gronk was in there unless it was to knock down a pass. Don't think he'd catch anyone in a race.

He played a good game on offense today. He is not a defensive player, and he proved that today.

The Steelers managed to lose to the Raiders. Watch the Patriots give Miami hope and lose to the Steelers. The Patriots just don’t have it this year. They will make the playoffs, but it will be one and done.

It won’t be “old man Brady’s” fault; it will be the defense that has become the “tin foil curtain defense.” The Miami game proved it. These guys don’t have enough talent or it’s a lack of hustle. Take you pick.

Is the postgame presser,BB said he thought Tannehill could throw it deep enough where Gronk would be needed to try to knock it down. That would have been about a 75yd throw,I don't see him making that pass.

fluke play that means little in the grand scheme of things. if forced to go to Arrowhead, let it be so. i watched the entire Ravens-Chiefs game yesterday and i'm much less sold on KC post-Hunt. they should've lost that game at home to a team with a QB who can't throw. so what are they going to do if #12 rolls into town? the Pats are just fine.

agree, he usually goes in when a hail mary pass occurs, however the Dolphins were 70 yards out, too far. Coaching blunder on their part in my opinion. Gronk is great, but as a tackler near the goal line, should have had different personnel.

Gronk was in for that play but Devin Mccourty wasn't when he's arguably their fastest defensive back. That's the part that makes no sense.

key words were- 'should've lost that game'. The Chiefs have had QB's before who didn't like to lose, heck Alex Smith
didn't like to lose. The thing with Mahomes is he doesn't like to lose and he has the ability and skills to do something
about it. I like Alex Smith a lot, but the Chiefs would have lost that game with him at QB (no jokes about his broken leg)
    when he was healthy.
So bring on the Patriots at Arrowhead. I hope it happens, but the Chiefs have to deal with the amazing Chargers for
now, currently the second best team in the AFC.

BTW- for a Ravens' QB who can't throw, that kid did a pretty good job of throwing the ball yesterday.

Im still annoyed about that loss in Miami. Belichek is heated about that loss and needs to harbor it towards himself, I know I been beating him up over it but Brady getting sacked at the half was just moronic and didn’t help matters, so I share the blame 🤬

Easy to blame Bill because you don't like him. But the truth is the team made numerous mistakes all during the game that cost them the game. Focusing on the last play is just stupid.
As usual Brady gets a pass. I do give him credit for admitting his mistake.

BTW, if Gronkowski made the play to save the game, everyone would be hailing how much of genius Bill is.

Focusing on the last play is just stupid? For 59 mins & 53 seconds the Patriots did enough to win that game and were ONE tackle away from winning. You call Brady getting sacked in the first half a mistake but want to overlook the entire Pats defense on that final play by calling it stupid for focusing on it? That is hilarious.

Are you out of your mind? The game was won and had Belichek had Mcourty been in there instead of Gronk the tackle would have been made and that’s the bottom line. As far as “Brady getting a free pass” if you read my last post I called him moronic for getting sacked. If you want to argue that Gronk being in there wasn’t a case of Belichek out coaching himself then you don’t know a thing about football. Period. You don’t put a 6’7 guy who can’t cut and change direction to keep up with a back or WR as your last line of defense, you just don’t do that. There was ZERO chance of a Hail Mary in that situation, yes that’s ZERO so don’t tell me that Belichek doesn’t deserve flak for that GAME BLOWING play. Yea Gostkowski missing a FG and XP, Brady getting sacked like an idiot at the half all played into it but the bottom line is you take Gronk OUT and put a DB or WR there and the game is won.

I like Belichick a lot, but yesterday was well short of his best game. He screwed up at the end of the half and at the end of the game. Brady screwed up at the end of the half. He should thrown the ball away to preserve the FG try. The kicker also was subpar. I hope that will not be a pattern with him. He has enough experience to know when he should be making adjustments.

And for the record I Don’t dislike Belichek either, ofcourse I like him as the Pats Coach I just don’t drool over him like most and don’t think he is the sole reason for the Pats success is all. Put it this way I think he is responsible for actually holding the team back a bunch of times over the years but I am satisfied with everything positive that he has done and it definitely outweighs the negatives.

I am still steaming on the loss. I don’t look back at missed kicks, missed opportunities before half, etc., because the play calling would change due to a different score/situation. The last play should not happen at the professional level. No way there is a Hail Mary from 70 yards out, he can’t throw it that far. Gotta question the coaching ??
