very true, many of them graduated from college in the 2009 recession and could not find a job in their field of study, so many just settled on a low pay job and still have no recovered

Maybe, although I've never found their customer service to be that dialled in. Doesn't really matter to me. I've always made my analysis around the 225,000 number.

Hard to believe that this is their Christmas week project. There's 12 days left in the year, including 1 week where no one is working. Seems hard to believe they are spending time on sets that lose money rather than working on coins that turn a profit.

what happened to "inevitable slide"? You don't believe in a premium for the sets. So how can the premium you don't believe in disappear?

The sets have almost always sold in the $30 to $35 range (shipping included) with the BE exception. The Mint will be selling them at $29.95 + $5 shipping. So, as has been the case since August, the price will remain unchanged.

There is no "premium" on the sets now. Never has been since August 2nd. I expect that the price will continue to be the same until a year or two from now when it creeps up to $40-ish once the key dates are properly noted and series collectors start adding them.

Still waiting to buy much under market .. set is a dog .. only matter of time ,unless rush of Christmas customers here depletes friend's stock of 15 boxes of the 225th sets sitting in storage

I called the mint and they said these will go off sale dec 31 since it’s an annual set and they will not be releasing any additional items in any significant quantity

Mine keep moving. Perhaps the issue is that buyers have moved from show to livingroom. Just saying

I agree about those reps not knowing anything. I’ve had hundreds of orders at the mint over the years and have trained them on some of the old system when things were “easier”. Now a days they think they know it all and are mostly completely uninterested in actually helping with reasons I’d need to call in for.

the reps you call have no clue what is going on with production or future sales. They can deal with your order issues but that's about it.

It's an "annual set" in that the coins are dated. They can't legally mint them after 12/31. So, if they haven't minted them yet, they aren't going to. The other sets stay on sale because they minted large numbers of them and they wait for them to sell out. Apparently they trashed 14,000 of these sets...if the rep can be believed, that is.

Besides, if they couldn't be sold in 2018, they would have had to have been removed before today. I have a feeling there are a lot about to go on sale.

I don't understand what is going on with these at the Mint. They haven't had any in weeks. Last time, they had like 60 of them. This time, how many? The don't seem to have 10,000 laying around. They can't legally mint them anymore. So, what is going on?

Do you think they have the 10,000 sets laying around somewhere ,but forgot where stored ...like in trailer trucks ?
A relative works for a food processor where they misplace a 40,000 # truck load of lettuce . fruit.... found it later spoiled

I wouldn't put anything past them. It is rather bizarre. Especially with the handful suddenly showing up last weekend out of nowhere. Sadly, I sold 20 halves and 20 dollars yesterday. I'll probably have nothing left soon.
