I was being sarcastic. I don't care whether it is BIN or auction. Both prices count.
My dealer friend with his 15 boxes of sets ,, still holds out ..interesting, he knows 3 other dealers who still hold sets bought at show ,after they too, loaded up on sets
All, most, of the recent posts are about the price of sets and singles, graded or not,
I really like the look of this set and give kudos to the Mint for the great job they did producing these beauties. Yes, a few glitches, but over all my favorite Mint product, next to the Palladium, of the year. Something that gets second place to all the back and forth about sales on the secondary market.

I agree, overall. Some of the quarters are too busy in the designs and the contrast doesn't help. (Effing Effigy mounds...) But I think the cent and half really pop and the dollar looks stunning.
The mint takes up to 16 weeks to process credits when they short ship or take return and still not given credit. Would not be surprised if final number does not go down more. I love the sets.
MY GOD, BESTIE!!! At the rate these sets are ACCELERATING IN VALUE, they'll be at $50 by Christmas!
[end sarcasm]
LOL.. no cherry picking jim ..... 225th prices from Dec 13 -14 ranged all the way down to $26....non PE
Worse ,,NGC 70 sets ranged from $92 -$108.. Better yet, use the 10% bonus bucks offer, to get a NGC 70s ,10 pc 225th set under 90 bucks .. a bargain ? Hurry ...LOL.....Why bother with raw sets
Just think how much NGC 70s sets have fallen off... coin club was offered 100 NGC sets at $250.00 back in August. The Big A suggestion was spot on..

THERE WAS NO CHERRYPICKING. AS STATED, THOSE WERE THE LAST 5 AUCTION RESULTS AT THE TIME I POSTED.
Also, as predicted, as the BE dump has ended, the prices have returned to "normal". That is to say, pretty much the same as they've been since August: $32 to $37 BIN and $28 to $32 auction. Despite some old curmudgeons calling for an inevitable slide, it simply hasn't happened to the raw sets. They remain in the same range they've always been.
SP70 sets are always a loser. I wouldn't bother with them. Especially now that grade inflation has turned half the submissions into 70s. They aren't rare and really shouldn't be worth much more than the raw set which is all 69 and 70. Unless, of course, you're a coffin collector in which case you probably don't even care if there's a coin in it.
That said, even the SP70 set prices have stabilized. In the last 2 months, they've been $110-ish for NGC and $150ish for PCGS.
This set would be more exciting if there were a rapid slide...or a rapid rise. Instead, it hasn't moved in price in months.
As has been the case all along, the BE sets are lower. Maybe because of the category they are in.
Either way, you were wrong. You called "inevitable slide to $20", and even the BE prices have firmed up and are near issue price. Just own it. A year from now? Time will tell.

Honestly, I don't think so. For a while, I thought it possible that people were waiting on the Mint. But we're in the middle of Christmas shopping season and the Mint is on the sidelines. I think demand will die down after Christmas and the simple fact that the Mint makes it official that it is sold out probably won't change that.
I hope I'm wrong. I'd like an extra few bucks for my last 127 sets! [down from 139 last week - broke up 10 sets and shipped and sold a couple full sets. I know Bestie likes to keep track of my inventory, although he seems to think I have 1000 sets for some odd reason.]
back to the coins. I still pounding the table and dead horse on the quality of the zincoln. best zincoln money can buy and it is coming straight out of a mint set instead of endless searching followed by resignation to accepting some plating problems.

I agree. I think the cent really pops in hand. Eventually, even the most stubborn LIncoln collectors will want one in their collection. IMHO.

Hmmmm just got a note from eBay that BE cancelled my bid on some of their lot of 20 sets auctions, have they run out or are readying for a price jump?
It's also possible it was an error. I was a little concerned that they only showed 10 lots in the pictures but labeled it 20 lots. They pulled all of them.
They have no more auctions running and only one BIN lot of 20 for $706.

They may (or may not) have more sets. My crystal ball is not as shiny as yours. But they haven't listed anything in a week. So, even if they have more, they don't seem inclined to continue the dumping. Unless you also read their minds and know differently.

225,000 Lincoln cents is NOT too many. 225,000 Kennedy Halves is NOT too many. Hell, 225,000 proof sets is NOT too many.
The Mint botched distribution...with a little help from their flipper friends...but overproduction is not, in my opinion, the issue.
