I did. Talked to a real knowledgeable government employee who said they just talked about this in a meeting this AM. She said there will be 500,000 silver dollar coins issued, and a 100,000 gold. I said, I know, how many will be available at the LB show, per customer. She said it could be none but she wasn't sure. Gotta love those government employees...

I'm waffling on the 3-coin set (big red flag in my head says not to get it, will probably wait until Tuesday's mint numbers to decide), but will definitely get a PF/MS set of dollars and two sets of the halves. (The half has a horse on it, which makes it a fine birthday present for someone I know. At least they put the horse on the clads, instead of the more expensive silver! ) Wasn't going to get the dollars, but having spent a bit of time in Ft. Smith...
All will remain ungraded regardless. (My wag is 66%+ will grade 70's...)
Ordered four different kinds of coins (PF&MS $1 and PF&MS clads), checked out by 12:01, order in process (USM02899xxx), and credit card already pinged.
Of course, Smartpost will now foul it all up, but checkout was a breeze...

Same here I put all of the items in the basket then said what are you doing and backed out. I think i'll save my $$$ for the other stuff late in the year..
I got one yesterday within a minute or two of going on sale and contemplated getting more, but hesitated. I'm kinda glad I did, but at the same time they went quick, even with a 5 per household limit. Wondering if I should pick up a couple more of the proof gold pieces, I really like the design.
I wonder if the popularity of these designs, especially the gold and silver, is due to their resemblance to the old classic designs of the early 20th century...
Proof dollars show "back order", not "out of stock" on the Mint site; three coin sets show out of stock. Our order still shows "processing" but all items still listed so I think we're good. I think the 3 coiners are going to be good, at least short term.
Edit to add-FYI, the sets supposedly didn't last an hour according to my source (a mint primary distributor for eagles etc.)
When I looked this am the Mint site said "OOS" (not backordered) for the PF dollar..obviously changed since then..just means that they sold the ones that were packaged and will put more together. They didn't sell 500k in a day
I was looking at the wanted poster in the Marshals hand and said it would of been cool if they put more then one town or state on it, then we could of looked for all of them to put together a set.

thanks for the intel everyone. Don't forget the magic words : "as struck"
for clads: they are usually tough in 70. a history of clad grading in both commemorative and annual sets is what I based my pre-guess on the SP Sacs. The Sacs seem to be much better as a whole than previous history. It looks like the Mint has returned to their old QC with these clads.
"The 3 coin proof set was also popular selling 9,421 units from the 15,000 product limit."
I wouldn't be surprised if they are sold out
considering the gold is 100,000 total PR&MS, I wouldn't be surprised if they opened it up to 25k or 30k if people begged. I have my requisite 1 each incl. the set. So, I'm set. But others might try begging for an increase in the 3 coin limit. It'd certainly kill the flip. But I'm not going to be the one contacting the mint about it.

But, they are the last to know stuff.
I read that as sales at LB have not been decided yet, or, considering the news, the numbers are not yet set.

I see a (3) Coin Proof Set listed but no (3) coin MS Set?????
Wonder if it will be there tomorrow?
GrandAm
Well,,,,, doesn't really matter,,,, the (3) coin Proof Set is only $0.90 cheaper the the (3) coins by themselves.... Hoping I could save a few bucks

The Mint?
These were required by a Law and then kicked around by the CFA and the (ugh) CCAC.
Sure, a simpler design would have been sufficient but whenever ANYTHING is "designed by committee", it's always going to come out screwed up. >>
Exactly! How many times over the years has the Mint had coins shoved down their throats by congressmen. They are required to do as they are told.

I hope this is popular to get them graded for one's self or for 70FS/ER customers and not rampant speculation.
I really like the $5 gold.
I just bought a bunch to look through late last night. I hope to have more on order later today to stagger ship dates.
