I bought two sets of each format at the Long Beach show. Looked at the quality of them. Didn't like the quality and walked them back over for different ones. The new ones were fine. I submitted them all to NGC "first day of issue" label and got all but one back MS/PR70. It's nice to be able to look for quality examples right at the Mint booth. Just sold on eBay yesterday.

My 3 coin proof set is now in "processing."

Are these sets gradable as sets by PCGS?

    Do they have any collectiblity?

I've been waiting over 2 weeks for this set.

During that time, the price went down $17, so I called the Mint to get the lower price.

Who stole my post???? You need to post 2 and 3 times before you can see it in this thread.

This is happening in many other threads to date.

Please PCGS....it's not repair time, it's replace time.

    Rafus,

I saw that. He also has a second identical post with 18 sold. Has been pre selling them for awhile starting somewhere around
$150 and slowly increasing then a big jump to the current $ 249 price. Either that's a bargin or the NGC is a Ripoff.

ok so here is the short version of my purchase of anNGC PF70 Ultra Cameo Early Release $1 Silver US Marshals Proof
On Thursday 2/12 ordered one coin at $ 149. Received email Friday night that coin shipped with tracking number. My credit card was charged.
several days went by and tracking still said only label printed and no movement.
checked sellers website and saw increasing prices and coins in inventory still for sale. $ 149 - $ 299 - $ 349
called Thursday 2/19 to ask if really shipped or USPS tracking problem and was told they would call post office and check it out.
On Friday morning I noticed they had again raised price to $ 499 and started to think they were not going to ship my coin and instead sell at higher price.
I called and they said: I was on list to call today. THey had printed labels however NGC downgraded their coins ang they we getting fewer 70's that expected
and did not have enough. They offered to buy back for $ 199 or I could wait until they get more in. THis pissed me off so I asked him if you did not have enough to ship
on 2/13 why were you selling for $299 on 2/18 and $349 on 2/19 and $499 today. He said where did you see that. When I said on their web site he said he would have
to take it down and did not know why it was showing the increasing prices. I asked him again why they were selling during the week at higher prices if they did not have them to sell. Don't know how it came up but after that he said my coin would go out today. At that point I stopped and just said thanks I will wait acouple of days to see
what happens. The coin shipped Friday and I received it yesterday. I am happy they finally honored their commitment to sell at the original price I paid. image

PS: They had the coins listed again yesterday for $899.95 CC on their site and for $939.27 BIN on their Ebay store.image

    GOT TO HAVE IT NOW

Another $1 PF70 for over $900. Seems way out of line even for the Got to have it now crowd.

What is your guess? Early Rarity or Early Gouge ?

I was told by a dealer that many of his NGC proofs did not make 70 because of scratches on the star.
Can't believe PCGS would give one with scratches on it a 70. Not! I have seen many before.
There has to be 70's so the best available win.

I'm amazed at the low pops on the gold proof $5 US Marshalls coin.
I can still get First Strike if I send tomorrow on the 27th.....cutoff is the 28th.
    I believe that is a no brainer....am i correct?

    MS70 is even lower. L.B. Expo =23 regular first strike =28 total = 51
    PR70 L.B. Expo = 93 regular first strike = 25 total = 118

looks low for now, however by time they usually catch up posting pops it turns out to be several times higher.

I cherried over 50 each clad, 25 each silver and 10 each gold

They are enroute to pcgs now as 1 of each

I am disappointed there is no 3 coin set label.

I would say "wish me luck" but I'm thinking no luck will be necessary.

    W.P. LABEL ????

Saw this on the bay today. What does W. P. Label mean ? Is it West Point ? Label seems to be same as all other coins, however the hologram on the back seems different than other coins.

Do they use different Holograms for different mints as a security feature or something. Too many label variations.image

Why care about the 3 coin set? You will be able to buy the 3 seperately for the rest of the year. I was going to buy the set but I realized the odds were too great to get an unacceptable dollar. The center star can come really messed up. There is a PR65 on eBay now. Many of these could come back less than PR69. I bought a PCGS PR69 FS off ebay for $48 shipped. I won't pay PR70 Mark up but don't want a beat up center star either.

If you click on the item page and add 99 items to your bag, if there are less than 99 available, it will say that the inventory is not available and to update your cart. A small red number will then appear to the right of the item. If there are more than 100 items, you will not see anything. I didn't try to add more than 99 when it was available so I'm not sure how it would work.

Looks like everything is sold out or on backorder... I wonder what difference there is between out of stock and back ordered items. The out of stock have come back twice but backorder are just back ordered.

Yes, If you go to the Mint website and click on an item, say Florence Harding First Spouse Gold Proof - the most you can order is usually 99. But when you put in 99, a box pops up in the right corner that shows only 87 are in stock (shows in red). So if you try to check out, the most you can buy is 87, not 99. This works with any item having less than 99 remaining.
