So I keep searching ebay for a early release (About a week early I know). What drives me nuts is the first heritage singles that hit ebay are like "2014 Topps Heritage Joe Mauer NO HAT SSP????" Then usually priced outrageously. Hope no one ever falls for that.
Anyway looking forward to trading with the usual suspects and anyone new that hops on board.
The checklist is live and I'm impressed with the player selection for the Real One autographs -- especially the dual autographs. I've only had about 30 seconds to look at the checklist because I wanted to let everyone here know it's available. Here's the link:
1. The inclusion of retired player autographs that did not play during the 1965 time period, not sure I like this. 2. Topps pre-announced the variations. I dont think they did this in the past. 3. Love the 1965 Bazooka's. Will they be box toppers? 4. For the second year in a row, not a fan of the mini's.
You know now that I think of it this wont be the first time players that did not play during the time period are in the product Jenkins was a rookie in 1965 and didnt have a card until 1966 but has been in previous products.
Checklist looks decent. Some cursory review team notables. Granderson chrome as a Yankee. We already knew about cano. Granderson was gone for many months prior. Would love it if one year they put Yankees in blue border and Red Sox in red border for design sake. I think it's a running joke at topps. Only 2 yanks on the auto list but double 2013 at least. Was hoping mariano would make the auto list and even worse happened...they honored the future HOF closer with saves record by putting him on the chump change mint section instead of respecting his performance with a final base card or chrome that recaps his entire career record. Topps has done this too many times to count over the years. I think lifetime topps project blog has been recapping every year of late. Several relics this year which is a nice change. Overall still a lot for me to chase. And a boatload to trade or it goes up on comc.
That's funny joe. I have blue mays for 2013 - just got the redemption before Christmas. So he did sign the blue inks. Got the 2012 just in time for 2013 heritage last year.
Base real one list is weak. How do you miss Koufax in a set That pays tribute to the 1965 season? The higher end hits are really stellar. Should be fun this year.
Preliminary auto checklist (haha) as provided by Topps

This was on page 1.. if this really is the auto list this year I only see 2 auto's I would what to add to my collection. That would be Banks and Mays. I know some of you like to collect some of the auto cards each year.
If your on the hunt for a auto or 2 this year, what do you want?
Here are the Mays Heritage autographs I am still owed:
2012 red ink 2012 mays/kemp dual autograph 2013 red ink 2013 flashbacks autograph
They have managed to send me the blue inks for 12 and 13 but it's pretty insulting that they continue to pack out redemption cards for Mays when they can't even get the ones from 2 years ago done.

Did someone really pay 46 dollars for a used Mays redemption?
lame beckett write up today, the only pictures they showed were the base trout card and the KO autograph. This product is either 90% redemption or topps is really trying to keep a secret. 8 days out and we have yet to see a live picture of anything nice. W
As I understand it, Topps has to pay so much for Mays autographs, they wait until the redemption deadline is set to expire and then pay Mays to sign how ever many redemptions were sent in. That way, Topps doesn't have to pack out 50 autographs (and pay for 50) if only 30 redemptions were sent in. Good for business bottom dollar, crappy for collectors.
Parkerj-If I pull banks rice or chipper I'll let you know. Mays and HA are close to my heart from when I was younger....Johnny bench too...had the pitch back.
Anyway, I know word on the street is retail hits this weekend but stopped by target and walmart last night anyway. Nothing. Going every night until 7th just to see. If any one else spots an early retail please share.

Topps released a bunch of pictures today including a couple of sweet looking black refractors. Rather than show all of them here, you can check them out on my blog:
yeah those black chromes are SWEET but they are impossible to pull, except the new guy who comes on here, buys 3 packs, pulls one and then asks if its worth anything.. smh
Prince Fielder as Ranger out of the gate (announced 11/21), but Granderson (Mets-announced 12/6) and Cano (Mariners-announced 12/6) still as Yankees. They got the other side of the trade correct though…McCann (Yankees-announced 11/20) and Ellsbury (Yankees-announced 12/6). You can make an argument for Fielder & McCann being on their new teams due to the Nov announcement, but it doesn't explain Ellsbury making it but not Granderson & Cano with the same announcement dates. I can only conclude that Topps doesn't follow baseball very closely, and certainly doesn't understand the concept of trading being a zero sum game.

This also allows them to beef up the High Number Update set.....
Guys, its not clear to me from the press, that there will be both a chrome #/999 AND a refractor set #/565. Am i missing it, or is there just chrome (or refractor) #/??? , black #/65, and gold #/5?
I wouldn't think its a guarantee that the base Chromes will be /999 this year. My assumption is that there will be base, refractors, blacks, and gold. We will know soon.

I have a dealer in town here who has the Bench/Frank Robinson/Jay Bruce triple autograph from last year. Beautiful card. I need to get that one. The multi sig cards in heritage are SICK, if you ever get them.
While we're on retail watch…I have a Heritage Ebay Alert! A 2010 Heritage 2 Hobby Box ebay auction came up this week. With 3 hrs left I checked on the bidding and noticed it was from Prob"lem"stein123 as I call him. Given his track record I decided to look closely…Title & Description: Lot of 2 2010 Topps Heritage Hobby Boxes. Enlarge image…it's of an 8 pack retail blaster and a retail box. I send him a note, and he states the image is actual product…so some poor guy thought he won 2 hobby boxes for $90 +SH with guaranteed 2 relics or autos + other load out items, and this weekend he'll get a bigger surprise…I only wish I knew who it was, so I could send my emails to him to use for his ebay case. The seller refused to correct the description & title when I pointed it out.

Looks like he either relisted with a slightly different title or he's selling another listing with the exact same picture.
Same pix right down to the crooked placement. Perhaps he took my 2nd note seriously and informed the buyer. Or maybe ebay stepped in. Anyway, hope the buyer is off hook.
