I dig those 50's Sci-Fi LC's. I would love to see the others that you have. Nothing beats 50's Sci-Fi. Nice pick up.

    Thanx guys.

Due to the length of this thread, it doesn't always turn to the last page right away.

I added on the Spahn game.

And - I added a better centered card to my 63F set - not 50/50 - more like 45/55 - I've found that #9 Herbert is tough to find perfectly centered - tho I continue to hunt!

    image

    And last...

    The Hypnotic Eye - 1960

Starring Jacques Bergerac, Allison Hayes and Marcia Henderson.

    Storyline:

The city is stricken by a wave of self-mutilations performed by beautiful women who seem to be in a hypnotic trance. The authorities suspect a stage hypnotist with a popular act, but the stakes are raised when the hypnotist sets his sights on the girlfriend of the detective investigating the case. What is the hypnotist's secret, and why does it seem to involve his beautiful assistant?

What's cool about these very campy movies is the budget - $365,000. They probably spent more than that on catering for a current movie!

    image

And - note - the 50 Ft. woman - Allison Hayes is also in this one!

Recent pickups from board members. Finally got a decent '52 Billy Loes card thanks to WinPitcher Steve who offered me a chance a year ago until I finally came around and bought it. Thanks Steve. Bought the Griffey from Scott, ScottieC for my cousin who got his stolen from his Upper Deck set many years ago, so I'll pass this on to him. Thanks Scott. Got the Russell Wilson card from Shagrotn77, Andy because it was cool. Thanks Andy

    Hey there Doug

    Very nice Billy!

Also - that's a nice thought - getting the Griffey for your cousin - very thoughtful in deed.

Thanks Mike & Mike not to be confused with Mike and Mike. The '52 set is coming along, my wife got me a PSA7 Joe Collins for Christmas and I bought a high number Jim Turner PSA6 in January. The Turner set me back a few bucks so I'm slowing down and will submit

15 '52s I have ready to go for my CC renewel next month. I probably have about 80 ready for grading but will take that slow. I've had most of those since the 80's so why rush now right? LOL. Thanks again. Doug

Yeah, those high numbers go for a nice chunk of change. Good luck on the graded and looking forward to seeing them once they return from sunny California.

I bought this lot because of one of the 4 autographs therein: Hans Zinsser. He's one of the most famous people in microbiology/bacteriology - he identified the species of bacteria that cause typhus and created the first vaccine for that disease. He also died in 1940, so this is not an easy autograph to come by.

    Hi everyone

I got this game and it's in Spanish - not sure where? Most like south of the border - Mexico.

Home Baseball Con Dados - 1961

    image

The instructions are in Spanish - and my Espanol is good enough to get my face slapped in two languages.

    The playing field and instrucciones:

    image

The game doesn't appear to ever been played since the players are still attached.

    image

Estan tres dados - 3 dice - which really adds to the mechanism of play.

When I have some time - I'll work out the play before putting it on the shelf for future display.

I have no idea where the game was manufactured - couldn't find it listed anywhere. Will be heading over to the BB game forum for advice - some of you may know Butch from net54 - occasional posts - those guys are incredible!

    Thanx Mike!

    That's a really nice Jeter.

My son pulled one from a few packs back in '92. I didn't like the set - thought there was way too much chipping and scratches.

A genuine 6 right out of the pack!

    Thanx for sharing.

Sharing the same alma mater and having met him a few times, I was rather stoked to acquire this '79 rack with Wilbert Montgomery on top. Arguably just as gratifying is the fact that I located it the completeds on eBay, made a pitch to a fella who didn't know me from Adam, and shortly thereafter received an exemplary reply that said, "I think it belongs in your collection, not mine."

Just received my LOTG auction winner in the mail today. Gotta love adding any Walter Johnson card to the Senators/Twins collection!

    From the auction description:
    Population Data
SGC Population: 25 total graded, 14 at this level, 11 higher
PSA Population: 34 total graded, 28 at this level, 6 higher

  • So I bought this card just shy of $60. Even though it is not on my radar as a purchase, I felt it was a good buy. Whats his HOF prospects you think?
