Closing out 2013 with this one that arrived today ... two more to finally put this set to bed ... although I'll probably look to upgrade the Kareem at some point as it is the only 7 in my set.
Here's to everyone having a great 2014!
Matthew
Looking for a Glen Rice Inkredible and Alex Rodriguez cards
Pretty impressive purple foil 1 of 1 Masterpiece 5" x 7 & 3/4" boxtopper. Looks like an '89 World Series patch, and it's rather large at 2 & 1/8" x 1 & 1/4".
<< <i>Geez Ross - that's an incredible box topper!
Did you pick it up on ebay? >>
Actually got it by way of a Texas dealer on COMC Mike. I would have been easily been priced out on eBay. It was too cool not to own for at least a little while.
Excited about this pick-up, As after using about $12 in E-bay bucks I was able to obtain a complete 1983 set of Season Tickets to Broncos home games for $50.
This was John Elways first season, and although it does not include his NFL Debut, which was earlier in the season in Pittsburgh, It does include his first touchdown against Philadelphia and his first come from behind victory against the Colts, as well as his first 300yd passing game.
Mike, I haven't posted in your thread in years, so thought I would make a New Year's Resolution to start posting again.
These came back from PSA last week. I really like what Topps has done with the Archives sets, even better than Heritage. I like seeing the old players re-imagined on the old card designs.
Thanx Matthew - I did nail it with my ebay bucks - well almost.
Welcome back Tom - you've posted two supreme cards - as I've told you in the past - I followed the Yanks very closely from 1976 to 1979 while at Columbia and was a frequent flyer of the bleachers at a buck fifty per.
I was lucky to get this one. It was one of those items that wasn't in my normal ticket search on e-bay, and I came across it while looking for another ticket. After having it in my watch list all week, It looked like it wasn't going to receive any bids, so I contacted the seller and told him I would buy it if it didn't for 25% less. We agreed and here it is.........
Mike, If I remember correctly you were a Raiders fan, So you should enjoy these. Tickets from the Raiders 74,75,76, Playoffs including the 74 "Sea of Hands" game.
Hi Mike, I had to dig to find this thread! Time to bump it back to page 1.
I bought this card at auction that ended on NYE, arrived last week. I like picking up nice collectible examples of 500 HR guys, always liked this reverse image photo.
i like those Archives sets too with the players from my youth on different cards and signed
nice grades.

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
Jeremy Spensser, genius humanitarian, is killed in an accident just after winning the Nobel Peace Prize. His father William, a brilliant brain surgeon, works on the body in secret before burial; later revealing to his other son Henry that he has the brain on life support and hopes to encase it in a robot body! The resulting being is large, strong, and develops many strange powers. Initially it has Jeremy's gentle personality but this, too, begins to change, and a year later it decides to end its long seclusion... Unusual piano music score.
This one scared the pants off me - I was 11 when I saw it with my sister.
"Focus" of this collection: Lobby Cards from Sci-Fi/Horror movies of the 50s.
My first eBay purchase, as I finally caved. Nothing major, I liked Moon back in the day and I like the half grades. It's also in one of the new PSA slabs, which I like. Sorry for the huge scan
This is one of my favorite cards. A young, kinder, gentler Martin. I've been looking for a "lower/mid" grade example for a while and with quadruple Ebay bucks I had to go ahead and pull the trigger. Excited to have this one in my collection!

Here is my first of the year ... 3 or 4 more to go on this set
I've got my eye on a baseball coin bank for the new year.
This was John Elways first season, and although it does not include his NFL Debut, which was earlier in the season in Pittsburgh, It does include his first touchdown against Philadelphia and his first come from behind victory against the Colts, as well as his first 300yd passing game.
Mike GL on the bank ...

Joe Montana First NFL Start 12/2/1979
That reminds me of his Snake River Canyon escapade. Thanx for sharing.
Those were some really cool games! Wish I could say I remember them well - but no. Of course, the 'immaculate reception' is etched in my brain!
BTW - I looked up those seats. One of the games was pure nosebleed.
Thanx for sharing.
