On the 2011 Value boxes, are the codes still valid? I was thinking of buying a few of these and selling the codes and Harpers, since his MLB debut is today. 20 games at AAA with a .250 average and 1 HR. They are definitely not rushing him, are they? Should be able to make a little money plus take my chances with something good, right? Thoughts?

Some of the codes are still valid in the 2011 boxes. I think the ones in the packs are not, BUT the entire boxes were selling for crazy amounts on ebay, you might want to check that if you can still find these.
I hit a card show yesterday and there was only one heritage card in the whole place, can you believe that? Not one card from 2012. I decided to clean the place out of heritage, how did I do? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I will have to check around for the value boxes. They were several that I noticed last week -- just didn't see if they were discounted or not. I hope you got a great deal on that Mays -- awesome card!
Ripped open a blaster from Walmart and pulled a JFK story card! I thought these were hobby only. Has anyone else pulled one from retail? Also pulled my first refractor after all this time.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
<< <i>Ripped open a blaster from Walmart and pulled a JFK story card! I thought these were hobby only. Has anyone else pulled one from retail? Also pulled my first refractor after all this time. >>
Oh, Ok....thought JFK's were hobby only. Weird that I have ripped at least 20 blasters and at least 20 rack packs, and today in the same blaster I pulled my first JFK and refractor. Actually pulled a David Wright Clubhouse Collection in the box also, one of the better boxes this year for me. The refractor was Ellsbury.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
Search the 16 card rack packs by finding either the blue or red card in the bottom half, all 10 packs I found with a colored border card also had a short print right next to it.

announcing to the world that you're a pack searcher is not going to make you many friends here or anywhere else. Maybe I just misunderstood the intent of your post, and if so, then my apologies. However, if you are somehow manipulating the rack pack to reveal a blue or red border variation and purchasing those manipulated racks, then I for one would never deal with you.
Just put the theory someone told me to the test. Just look on the side of the cards since the rack is see through, but I have seen racks actually opened with a knife or something, which is totally unacceptable. Figured I would try it out since I have bought enough packs that contained absolutely nothing but commons. I don't totally condone it, but I at least had to put the theory to the test.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
I witnessed it myself a few years ago when I saw some guy grab a flashlight to try to look through packs. There is no guarantee. It is a sealed pack, so you can't guarantee anything. I think that they should insert those thick 30-point blank spacer cards that Upper Deck put into its backs around 2002-2003. Every time I opened a pack I thought I struck gold until I seen the blank white card. Makes it impossible to "guarantee" a relic or jersey card due to thickness. I don't even want to think of how many hands have been rifling through packs when I buy them at card shows or at a store.

I just bought a hobby box from a card shop - while I paid more than ebay prices, I had a gift certificate from there (a birthday present that had been sitting around for a while).
Not a bad box overall.
The box topper was a 1963 Joe Moeller buyback - low grade, but with decent eye appeal - and he's a good signer.
1 relic - Nelson Cruz CC jersey. 3 chromes - Andrus, Haren, and Mark Reynolds 8 high # SPs, including Ichiro, CarGo, and Jered Weaver Granderson image swap SP Carpenter color swap SP 2 T&N, 2 FB, 1 NAP, 2 News FB, 3 stick-on
Inserts and SPs were always the 3rd card from the back, with the exception of the Carpenter, which was 4th from the back (a high # SP was 3rd from the back in that pack).
No condition issues other than L-R centering on some cards.
Picked up 3 blasters at Target today, found it interesting that 2 of the 3 I pulled the "Walmart" Blue parallel card. Guess they aren't sticking to their distribution plans.
Has anyone ripped any Archives yet? Curious to see how the pulls from Archives compares to Heritage. If it is good or better, I will be picking up a few boxes.
