Looks like GS is content to get away from their game and play ISO Ball with Houston! Bad move BIG mistake.

    Agree. It’s a joke.

Houston is going to be kicking themselves for not being up by double digits in the first half.

I really don't care who wins this series, but if CS continues to play this style of game they will not move on to the Finals even though they have the better team player wise. I don't like Harden's game at all! Never have. Houston's best player is CP3.

i know you did and that's not what i meant when i said unthinkable. the unthinkable part is how we actually got to 3-2 Hou. losing by 41 in G2, then just two days later somehow surviving after being hit with haymakers not once but twice in G3, then surviving yet again in G4 after top scorers 1, 2 & 3 went a combined 17-55 from the field and 7-30 (including 0-11 from Beard) from 3-land.

obviously, Chris Paul's hammy is a major, major concern. as important as Iggy is to GS, Paul is considerably more vital to Houston's success. without him, they canno........ok i'm not gonna say it. without him, it will be very difficult to win one of the next two.

and yessir, their D has been stifling. seeing as they are not a defensive-minded ballclub whatsoever, that also makes it all the more.........unthinkable.

i sure hope you're right with your Finals prediction

Man, I don't know what half those words mean! B) And like I said earlier........I don't really care who wins the West. And your right about CP3. He is much more valuable than the beard. If he is out or even not 100% Houston could be in BIG trouble.

just my thoughts, but the Houston defense hasn't been as important as the LACK of defense from Golden State and the sloppy play last night. I know everyone will want to hang me but Curry's defense the whole series has been pathetic, guys blow past him with little resistance. add to that Iguadola and the cake is baked, we're at 3-2. Curry has quick hands and does make an occasional steal which is why he tends to be seen as a great defender, but absent those he has been ineffective. he did have four last night but I confess that I don't remember them. I also don't remember the six TO's by Draymond Green which seems like a lot for him, he doesn't handle the ball nearly as much as Harden who also had six.

when they play tomorrow the roles will really be switched, it will be unusual to see the Warriors facing elimination. how will they play?? will the fans get ugly seeing something they haven't seen before with this Team?? will Draymond Green get rowdy and in some faces?? will Curry slip into cheer-leader god mode when/if he starts to ring up some rainbows?? will the Beard slow it down, clear the floor and drive?? it should be a good game.

now, Cleveland vs. Boston, another story. I hate ESPN for not letting me watch it in the comfort of my home.

I dunno know. GS D has held the leagues best offense in check all series. Houston in winning 3 games to 2 because of their D and imposing their will imo

Well, my prediction for Game 5 came true, a win by Houston in a nail biter.

I suspect that Game 6 will see GS win.

Then Game 7 to decide the winner.

If CP3 is out for Game 6 that will have a big impact on Houston.

Definitely a bummer but at least it happened with the Rockets up a game in the series not down. There wasn't any mention if he'll be ready by game 7.

Houston in winning 3 games to 2 because of their D

I know I must sound like a broken record but much of it is poor shooting by Golden State. did you see Durant miss the layups in the first quarter??? he never misses those easy runs, especially against a guy that he's got almost six inches on. there for a while at the beginning of the game I wondered if either Team would reach 20 points. there was a log jam at about 11 as each Team missed successive shots and drives, even turnovers and steals.

did you think both Teams were a little tight and amped up to start?? I did.

  • JustacommemanJustacommeman Posts: 22,852 ✭✭✭✭✭

Al I just think Houston did a great job of denying what GS wanted to do and played well in front of their man in crunch time. They made GS look silly at the end of games 4 & 5

oh yeah, not disputing that. I was only saying what happened at the start and then both Teams seemed to settle in. the Warriors are a Team that doesn't get rattled but they looked that way yesterday. and why did Draymond Green have the ball when it most counted??

Those young Boston players better not get sucked into this hype that Lebron is "tired" and this game will be easy. ;)

History has shown that James will come to play and put it on the line. They might not win, but it won't be because of Lebron.

I truly hope that both conference finals go 7 games with each remaining game being close with last second game winning shots, preferably in double or triple overtime.

Cleveland playing a lot of iso-fall tonight. Iso-fall is when the dude is three feet from the nearest opponent and just collapses like a boneless chicken for no reason.

Jr smith watched lebron rolling around holding his knee then get up and limp around grimacing, he was so impressed he had to try it himself.

just some thoughts and some response to comments thus far.

I really don't think anyone was faking anything during the game, the replays all showed contact. Lebron was injured by Larry Nance, Jr. and JR Smith got hurt on a dirty play by whoever it was, sticking his leg out to trip him as he went by. all in all it got rough at times. there in the last five minutes I think there was one time when there were about 4-5 guys on the floor at the same time.

when they showed Kevin Love walking down the tunnel it looked like he was checking for loose teeth!!! that collision was nasty.

I don't think it's a case of Boston playing bad in Cleveland, it's just home court advantage in the NBA. the Cavs played better defense tonight, really lock down for the 2nd and 3rd quarters. they were especially effective under the glass and I can give you one reason --- Larry Nance, Jr. if you watch him play he always seems to do the right thing and always seems to be in the right place.

I think the entire game turned on one stretch early in the 2nd quarter, the Cavs blocked some shots and had some steals to help put together a 20-4 run. Cleveland went from about seven down to almost 10 up in the space of around four minutes. after that it was a pretty even game the rest of the way, swinging between a 7-15 point Cavs lead. Boston went cold for that short stretch and it really hurt.

nothing will be easy on Sunday. I hope the Cavs win but expect Boston to prevail. if this was old time NBA we'd be looking at the start of a pretty good rivalry between some good players, but we are in the age of Free Agency and Cleveland has a few players who's careers are coming to an end. Boston is at the other end, players just starting. I wonder how many of these Celtics will still be playing for Boston in 4-5 years???

in some ways, I hate progress.

There was contact but the rolling around moaning and groaning , grimacing was BS , he ran up and shot at the basket and drew a foul after. Then he realized he forgot to fake a limp so did that between free throws .

He is the biggest drama queen in the league , bar one

I suppose you saw Love and Tatum as faking?? perhaps you would be so bold as to go onto the court with these guys?? I know I wouldn't even consider it.

2 years ago I was given courtside seats to a GS game by a client. My son and I attended. Being courtside and seeing the game played less than 10' away from you really has an impact. The size, speed, strength and quickness of NBA players is unbelievable. A regular person (even a 20 year old in very good shape) would be a hazard on the court.

I suspect that this reality is even more so in the NFL. Standing on the sideline of an NFL game (or hockey game, or rugby match, etc.) would be exciting and terrifying at the same time.

hard to believe the Rockets are making the Warriors look beatable as they lose their cool. Curry may do one of two things, get hot or blow a gasket. he has been very unproductive all series and doesn't seem to have a shot in this game, he's missing the rim and glass altogether.

Gordon for Houston has really stepped up and shot well.
