That guy doesn’t know what he wants other than cause controversy and hope to get scooped up by the Cowboys. If I’m Seattle I’m cutting him last year as soon as he said he wanted to be in a Cowboy Uniform.
Thomas is in the final year of his deal,if he really wants out he should just play out his final year there. He'll be 30 by next offseason and I doubt Seattle would tag him, maybe they even trade him before then.
I can see the Falcons caving and giving Julio some type of reworked extension like NE is supposedly about to do with Gronk.
Football players pretty much have to exert any leverage they have while they have it due to non-guaranteed contracts. With fully guaranteed contracts it would be a different story. Teams can walk away from a players contract at any point if they want to but for some reason fans criticize players if they try to do the same thing.
A career in the NFL is typically brief, not guaranteed and fraught with the risk of injury and long term aftereffects down the road. I don't blame any player for squeezing every dime they can out of the Goodell money train. The owners can certainly afford it.

I think in Earl Thomas case its more about him not having the contract security past this upcoming season along with the lure of going to play near his hometown. He pretty much knows the Seahawks won't be as good as they've been in recent years after Bennett,Sherman & Kam Chancellor all gone and its not like Seattle is out there looking to extend him heading into his final year.
With Julio its definitely about the money especially after he just saw Mike Evans,Brandin Cooks & DeAndre Hopkins all get huge deals putting them at or near the top salaries for the position.
I'm all for pro athletes getting paid while they can. Its sucked at times as a Patriots fan having watched so many good players leave NE because the team wasn't willing to go past what they think that player is worth. In some cases players stayed and got solid contracts from Belichick like Wilfork,Mayo,Hightower & McCourty. They locked up Gronk early in his career on a great deal from the Pats perspective but lately he wants to be paid like the All-Pro TE he is. He definitely deserves the money, from all reports he's got a reworked deal close to being finalized.

At first i was thinking the extension for Love was so they could get a better return for him if/when they find a taker. He had a year + player option year before this extension but now he's getting 30M a year until he's 35. Thats alot of money for a guy in his 30's who isn't a Superstar. I think Cleveland just decided to build around him for the next 3-4 years.

Yea, and then maybe at Nationals Park, it's only a matter of time before we see the first $100 hot dog.
Julio gets 2M taken from his 2019 salary moved up to his 2018 salary. It looks like Odell Beckham Jr is the only notable 2019 FA WR due for a huge new contract,do we see Julio do this again next year/
Looks like 6-8 360lb Left Tackle Trent Brown was working out with the Pats 1st unit. Him being able to take over that position after Nate Solder left would be huge, pun intended. With drafting a Left Guard & a Running Back in the 1st round I can see them going to the run more this season to try to lighten Brady's workload.
Dez Bryant has got to be one of the biggest idiot free agents. The guy puts up pedestrian numbers, complains about everything and is high maintenance- gets cut and turns down a few offers and now is hitting up the social media to act like an idiot some more. This guy might not get signed by anyone, he wants Big money and is not that good anymore and he has a BIG mouth

TO made the same mistake. He still had some value, but wasn't worth the money he was asking, and last time he was a free agent, never played in the NFL again.
Could happen with Bryant, unless his agent or somebody else smartens him up a bit, which isn't easy to do with these pompous wide receivers.
Speaking of T.O he is skipping his HOF induction lol. The guy is just a serious PAIN in the rear end, if I’m the HOF I’m just not allowing him in unless he shows up.
Cyrus Jones too,at least Mitchell actually contributed at one time. If Bill isn't going to sign Decker or another WR who isn't a 2018 undrafted rookie, I'd rather see them hold onto Mitchell just for the slight chance he might he get healthy by the season.
I honestly think with drafting Sony Michel and adding Trent Brown & Isaiah Wynn to the OL they're gonna take some of the burden off Brady's arm this season.

On the radio today Adam Jones was saying they should sign Dez . He is better than anyone currently on the team , tough to argue with that
Dez is a pain in the rear end, no way he would buy in to the Pats. Seriously he would be up Brady’s rear end saying he was “Open” every other play Brady throws to someone else. Dez thinks he is better than he is and has it in his mind that he is elite, Brady spreads the ball around way too much to even deal with a guy like Dez

That would definitely be a Bill Belichick type of move. Come play here on a one year deal and try building up your value having Brady throwing to you. If it came down to Dez or Joe Knucklehead of the practice squad then probably ya,but still it would be hard rooting for that guy.

I feel like he would be cheap though , he has no prospects at this point. Randy Moss worked out , Ocho Cinco did not . Give him a shot and cut him loose if he doesn't work out. With no edelman for the first 4 games there is only Gronk

Their first three games could be pretty tough for the Pats offense. Most likely a healthy Texans defense, the Jags then Matt Patricia's Lions.who has been facing Brady in practice for years. Maybe they can give Dez a four game deal then send his ass packing lol.

I think he turned down an offer from the Ravens and since then his phone hasn't been ringing.
He is on the down slope of his career if he doesn't play this year he is done
I am thinking he might regret not taking that Ravens offer. The Browns are talking about him but they are probably afraid of his influence on Mayfield. I mean Dez is not doing himself any favors running his mouth about the Cowboys on Twitter
Decker will be an interesting pick up. How good are his hands? That seems to be the deciding factor for players that succeed with Brady. His accuracy is so good that he many times puts the ball where only the receiver can catch it or on a wrong shoulder to help the receiver avoid a big hit. Not all WRs have the hands and body control to make those types of catches and adjustments especially during crunch time.
For most of his career he's had a catch percentage in the mid 60's,last season he caught 65% of his targets. For comparison here's the 2017 percentage for some of the best WRs:
Larry Fitzgerald 67% (i think he has the best hands in football)
Antonio Brown 62%
Julio Jones 59%
Jarvis Landry 69%
Rob Gronkowski 65%
Keenan Allen 64%
I don't think he'll have production (rec/yds/tds) like those guys but he think he could be a decent possession WR. He had some great seasons with Peyton Manning throwing to him before leaving Denver.
Decker has or had the ability to be a great receiver, he was great in Denver then decided to destroy his career by signing with the Jets. I think he will be fine with Brady throwing him the ball though, the best thing for Decker is he doesn’t need to put up big numbers since Brady spreads the ball around so much. He will be fine providing he gets the system

McDaniels drafted him in Denver so he has experience with NE's terminolgy for the offensive system. He still has to click with Brady but I think that will eventually happen.
On a sidenote, the Pats Wives club just added another hottie

^This, still.
I remember reading an espn article about 4-5 years ago that was about the best drops to targets ratio for WRs,basically a list of the best hands in football at the time, and Larry's ratio was over double of the guys in the 2-10 range IIRC. There was also some comparison to all time greats and again IIRC he was in the top 3.
A few years back before he fully committed to finishing in Arizona I really wanted NE to find a way to make a deal for him but it wasn't meant to be.
Tell ya this much I’m a huge fan of Larry Fitzgerald and the Cards organization after crying my eyes out over watching what they did for this sick kid out in Arizona, they let him practice with the team and let him score a TD in practice. Absolutely good job
Malcom Mitchell finally got cut in NE, here's who they currently have remaining to work with. The Patriots are now left with Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, Cordarrelle Patterson, Kenny Britt, Eric Decker, Riley McCarron, Braxton Berrios, Devin Lucien and Paul Turner at receiver.

And this is the perfect example of Bill Belichek, he leaves us scratching our heads in disbelief- actually disgust for me. Yea they make it to the Super Bowl and Win a lot of games but not without a struggle, I always think about how much better the Pats would have been if Belichek actually provided Brady with offensive weapons.

Yup and I think you can even add wasted years on the defensive side of the ball as well. Bill finally got around to drafting Chandler Jones,Hightower & Collins, then signing Revis but man did he have some bad drafts from 2007-2011.

In a lot of cases I look at LB’s like RB’s, they can easily be replaced.
How's this for an ultimatum:
According to NBC Sports Newy Scruggs, not only will Earl Thomas not be reporting to training camp but he's completely done with the organization and will be selling his house in Seattle. At the same time, he'll report if he gets a new deal.

Not surprised one bit about Mitchell
And this is the perfect example of Bill Belichek, he leaves us scratching our heads in disbelief- actually disgust for me. Yea they make it to the Super Bowl and Win a lot of games but not without a struggle, I always think about how much better the Pats would have been if Belichek actually provided Brady with offensive weapons.
Yup and I think you can even add wasted years on the defensive side of the ball as well. Bill finally got around to drafting Chandler Jones,Hightower & Collins, then signing Revis but man did he have some bad drafts from 2007-2011.
