Trubach thank you for the heads up!!!!!
They did the same to me calling then right now. I think they are doing this to all the orders verifying I have 48 hours.

They are doing this to verify the credit card she told me they have a glitch in the system. Everything Good! Makes you wonder though if your the last few to verify your order are they then going to say SORRY WERE OUT!

I am pretty sure I was the one or one of the first one who got it today, cause I was doing it so fast right after they released it. Btw do u think this set will hold a value? Thx

I think this set will hold value. I dint think it will go up. But the silver eagle should stay $100 coin.

That's the only reason ANY ONE bought the set. Even the 50 cent piece is nothing, you can get it in the regular set. It's pretty much the silver eagle and $20 worth of scrap silver.

Has any body picked up a 70 graded LE Silver Dollar yet? I am still thinking of sending mine in for grading but its expensive.

Don't send it in. Waste of money. Much cheaper for the big guys to slab them. And if you buy a 70 set, you know it's a 70 set. If you get a few 69s in there, you're going to end up going out and buying a 70 set anyway.

Actually I got 14 sets in waiting back for the grading results. B)

It's your money. If you want to support PCGS corporate profits, go right ahead. It will cost you more than buying an existing graded set, but it's your money.

@jmlanzaf @Gluggo Does anyone know what the designation is going to be for the First Strike coins? "First Strike/Limited Edition" for example, or what?

I decided not to send any of mine in for grading. Good money after bad and all that ... And I have an idea that in any case the Congratulations Set designation will probably hold up better pricewise in the long run.

I suppose the 2017-S proof ASEs with no designation should hold up pretty well too, though. Opinions on that?

    Thanks,

    Kind regards,

    George

Poor SOB? Man, having a pop of 1 would make the 68 more desirable than the 70. Same with the 67 from the congrats set. (How in the world did a modern proof get a 67?)

Anyone know why PCGS separated the Congrats 2017-S from the LEPS 2017-S? They're the same coin, just different ID numbers. (Disclaimer, I don't know if it's standard PCGS policy to segregate identical coins by origin...)

Lots of same coin/different labels out there. 20th/25th Annie ASE's vs. no-set issues etc. ...even FS/non-FS are the same coins

Well, regarding the 68, two things:

    1. It won't last.
    2. You can have it.

Not talking about labels, but listings. PCGS does segregate by origin, but are inconsistent. For instance, all labels for the 2011-W ASE are listed under 2011-W. All labels for the 25th anniversary set should be listed under the 25th anniversary set, except for 526990 and 522793, which are listed under the regular 2011-W ASE instead of the 25th set.

For the 2012-S ASE. they have the 75th SF set listed, but can't find any entry for the MAH set at all. Did no one send 2012-S ASE's from the history set?

Just so you know I sent some sets in for grading and so far its been a 50% average from 69 to 70 grades. Which does not bode well for us as the price from a 69 to 70 grade could be 10 fold.

Both of my FDOI just came back as 69 I just lost BIG TIME! Screwed should of just bought one from a dealer for $325.00 I would of made out better! Instead I own 2 worthless 69 graded junk!

I guess I could always send them to NGC after I crack them out myself I am sure they will come back 70's from them!

Maybe...or not...either way they will be generic 2017-S ..no set designation. Interesting to see what the market for those will be..

But will they have a First Strike label?

How about this one. No designation, but the coin# indicates it's from the Limited Edition set.

I did suggest that. It is ALMOST ALWAYS better and cheaper to get them already slabbed. You can't get the slabbing as cheaply as a volume submitter and then you have the possibility of a poor outcome.

Your right you warned me but I did get 6 out of 14 graded 70's. And that is about a 42% results not in favor of me. 69 vs 70, Then they told me they don't issue FDOI everything gets the First Strike designation. But it was not all for nothing of course I have not looked at the final bill and I got another order in and 1 more I am working on right now. Ohhhh gosh some one arrest me , stop me! I need help!

So, the orders I placed last week, when there were hundreds available, we messed up again. I got a call from the mint stating my order needed reauthorizing. I called them back (I don’t give info out from calls to me). Turns out they had all dropped the authorization and needed to be updated. Problem was the authorization from the first push didn’t drop of. I called Friday after getting an email stating there was a problem also...

So, if you ordered last week and it’s still in processing, even if you called and fixed issues and even if you have a pending authorization, I’d suggest you call them ASAP.

Roger that. They currently have 8 authorizations out for 3 orders :/

order 1 - charged on 1 Nov, charged second time on 1 Nov, charged third time on 3 nov
order 2 - charged on 1 Nov, charged second time on 1 Nov, charged third time on 3 nov
order 3 - charged on 1 Nov, charged second time on 3 nov

And American Express said they could NOT drop authorizations, even with a US Mint rep on the line stating they have too many. They said the US Mint accounting team was the only one able because that business is listed as having a large amount of fraudulent charges.

I am sort of ( Did NOT grade 70 ), excited at my first 2 ever submission into PCGS is on its way back to me! This was the 2 allowed to buy on the First Second of Issue but I was told by PCGS they are NOT issuing to us a FDOI label as I requested this. I guess it does not matter as we don't matter unless your one of the Big Retail Outfit's. I sure hope the guy in the vault grading my coins don't see this as I have about 20 more in the Vault being graded. I should just shut up like DB.

FWIW, my boxes were packed on 7/26/17. I guess they had them all minted and ready to go from day 1.

I just got my two sets I will be keeping even though I can hear them tumbling inside. I think its ok but their listed as Sold Out. I got 2 more coming I might send them all in for grading but I think the first strike is over or does it go by the day of purchase. I bought these on 11-1-2017 so I think these will make it as long as I don't open the box. But it looks like the box went to HELL and Back!

first strike is based on the date they ship and the cutoff was on the 6th of Nov.

The real question is would will this set hold up better than the congratulations set? That set is going for about $140 and has fewer coins.

Anybody got a picture of the Regular Strike PCGS Picture of one? That might convince me if my Doggie IZZY likes it!

    That box is VF35
    I've seen better and worse.
At least the outside look isn't all the mint's fault.

All the talk of the money has the coin convo wanting.

These coins out of my micro sample look better than usual silver proof sets.
