file a missing mail claim with the tracking #. That has helped me in the past.

Yes, it's amazing how quickly they find them once they start looking. That said, they may just need you to pick it up if it is signature required. Might be as simple as failure to leave the notification card

If a sig was required then it would be UPS....no sig would be FedEx/USPS delivery

Why? You can require signature on a FedEx or USPS package. Or does the mint never send it that way?

SOP for Mint shipping is under $300 it will come SmartPost (FedEx to USPS for delivery..no sig). $300+ it normally will come UPS ground over 21 sig required. PO Boxes and special requests can deviate from this standard

Mine shipped on the 9th. It is like a lottery when they will make it here. They got to my town on the 17th, a week ago and no movement since.

Finally got my two from the Post Office. Told them they never left a pick-up notification in our box, they just shrugged.

Most of our Postal workers care about us. Its a good paying Federal/Private job

I came very close to becoming a Postal worker, but opted not to relocate to a new town. That job drives people "postal".

I needed another set today and picked one up from the mint this morning. Looks like they have a handful of them available if anyone is left out there who wanted one but missed out.

I got mine at 7:33 am. I think they had 11 available at that time. You have to be there right then if you want a set or they are gone within minutes. I got another set this way and it was in good condition so I'm not sure if they were returns. The display box did have a slight mark on the outside. It almost looked like a finger print but was barely visible and only visible if you shifted the box in the light.

Thank you so much for the hint. I had to wake up at 4:30am my time to see if Mint released those sets today and I was able to get 3 sets. Looks like they had few sets available today and they were gone fast. Thanks again. I appreciate it. :)

Hmmm.... If you're looking for one, it might be wise to look to the 7:30 stealth sales....

All modern day proofs are normally DCAM...nothing special.

I noticed that as I went and looked at my box of First Strike PCGS Congratulation Set Silver Dollars and they were all DCAMS. But they are sure PREEEEEEETTY! > @Trubach said:

1st are you a member? If not you have to join. Do you want the first strike designation cause that is an extra 18 bucks per coin. 16 bucks to grade each coin. Now you 34 bucks per coin NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING.

I believe if you want to get first strike designation, you have to send unopened Mint package within 30 days ?

If you send in within the first 30 days in most cases you don't need the sealed mint shipping box. After 30 days you will have to send in the sealed mint shipping box as proof it was shipped in the first 30 days. In some cases they require sending in the whole set to verify the coin is part of that set.

Best to call customer service if you have a question on a particular coin or set.

Cheaper to buy it from someone who gets preferred rates.

The silver eagle was issued previously this year. If you send it in now, not in sealed US Mint box, you will not get first strike or a special designation

  • I woke up at 4:20am our time with hope to get few sets. As soon as Mint released few hundred sets today I placed 3 separate orders, paid for them and went back to sleep. Woke up in one in a half hour and got 3 emails from the Mint saying "UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE NOT ABLE TO FULFILL IT AT THIS TIME". I got shocked. I checked they still had about 98 sets in stock, I called them back right away by asking: "What happened?". They said that I need to pay for them. I told them that I did pay, order confirmed. So I had to give them my CC # over the phone for a few times. Finally operator confirmed my 3 orders by saying she released those sets for me. Then I looked again how many more sets were available and there were NONE. I am glad I catched those emails and called them back. Then I looked on my account and saw 6 pending transactions for my CC. Have no idea what glitches they had. I hope you guys didn't have the same issues today with your orders. You better check your emails.

  • jessewvujessewvu Posts: 5,065 ✭✭✭✭✭

Same... all orders have been charged to my card.

If anyone here wants a set, I’ll sell them one at cost.

Trubach thank you for the heads up!!!!!
They did the same to me calling then right now. I think they are doing this to all the orders verifying I have 48 hours.

They are doing this to verify the credit card she told me they have a glitch in the system. Everything Good! Makes you wonder though if your the last few to verify your order are they then going to say SORRY WERE OUT!

I am pretty sure I was the one or one of the first one who got it today, cause I was doing it so fast right after they released it. Btw do u think this set will hold a value? Thx
