They are not sold out they are still for sale at the ANA, do you think there will be any left to sell on the website when the ANA ends?
I was able to order the 2 sets I wanted. I'll brake one open for the cent, that will go Into my Lincoln cent collection.
The other I'll swap for a type 1 $20 Liberty.

If the fulfillment company holds to the schedule of shipping of the last dozen offerings a bunch will ship tomorrow. At least shipping documents will be generated. Actual leaving on a truck probably Thursday.
Someone at ebay is selling 1000 sets for $54,999.99 lol
There got to be a better way to ensure the general public has the chance to purchase a set without the hassle of skipping lunch or work.
May be a limited pre-order of 1 per account and no limit on/after release date?

Or a limit for the first day(s) then a higher limit for the first week then open it up to unlimited. If you can come up with a method to enforce limits and punish cheaters who have banks of order friends or employees post it here. Very difficult.
A pre order of 1 could work. You'd hear a lot of crying from the flippers but it would enable collectors to get one for their collections.
No wonder they sold out online....so many at the ANA that online didn't have a lot to sell.....
I've been sick and didn't get up in time, so missed out when I wanted a couple. Oh well.....hoping they do drop next year. I just like getting original sets and not passed over sets though.

The Coin Vault online is already selling PCGS FDI 70 and 69 sets @ $479 and $199 respectfully. thecoinvault.com/t-watch.aspx How are they making any money on these unless they're getting all 70's? 10 coins at $35 per coin to get graded is 350 + 30 for set cost

I'm assuming the rate they pay for bulk submissions is a lot lower than $35 per coin.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Not sure if they sold out at the show or not? I will ask tomorrow when I go. I was amazed at the number of sets they sold at the show. I guessed around 25,000 and I was one of the first third of the line. We saw skids and skids of them.
My bet is that there is going to be a lot of 70's come out in this. The mint is getting better in exponential leaps and bounds when it comes to keeping these coins pristine after striking them. One recent example were the gold centennial mercury dimes. I believe somewhere in the neighborhood of 80% submitted to PCGS got the top grade. It made it to the point that there was almost no premium for the 70's.

Never work. What happens when the pre-order number exceeds the number minted? (The 2015 Platinum Proof and the 2016 American Liberty medals comes to mind.) At that point, it isn't a presale. It's just moving the on-sale date up on the schedule, with no product to sell on the promised date.
Face it. If the Mint puts out a desirable product, it's going to sell out in a very short amount of time. That's just the way it is now. It comes from being able to order from wherever you are via smartphone/tablets, and the fact the PFSWeb's ordering system has no problems doing thousands of transactions per minute. You had absolutely no complaints from anyone who ordered within the first 5 or 6 minutes.
It is also the fault of Mint products becoming a staple of the flippers. And you cannot stop those willing to do a transaction with the mint for a sure couple of bucks from a dealer/TV huckster if they do put low HHL's on the product.
And to be honest, if the Mint does put a low HHL on a higher mintage than needed, semi-desirable product, and opens it up later (like this year's plat proof and previous years C&C sets and the gold quarter and half), they never sell out, and can stay on the web site for months. That sucks as a business model.
05203116 for 2 sets. Waited at home until 10AM (mountain) to order a couple sets, then jumped in the car and drove 10 hours to Denver. Be at the show in the morning. Now I just need a PCGS graded nickel for my nickel sets.

I doubt it, although prices may retreat from today's highs. I plan to revisit this thread a year from now.
My Adolph A. Weinman signature
I didn't order one!! I ALWAYS order one!! I actually passed on a Mint issue!!
Free at last! Free at last! Great God almighty, free at last!!
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
225,000 sets is too many to hold a value, if it had been 75,000 or less it could have been a winner. Sell and make what you can.
Right now the sellers control the price, but quickly that will change as more are sold into the market. Gold kennedy v 2.0
Prices will be rising.
This is all the weak hands happy with getting $50.
These will be $75 - $100 all day soon.
Mine goes into my collection so if it goes up or down doesn't really bug me.
No limit at the Mint booth at ANA! Someone just hauls away 6 cases.
Time for me to have another giveaway! I gave away a Pcgs 69 congrats coin as a giveaway not too long ago.
How many in each case?
Guessing 100
Another 12 cases hauled away. No joke.
Are you the one who sell? or just watching from the sideline. lol
Mint guy just said limit of 500 now.
I just saw this on another site:
From the Mint:
Show us some picture please?
Was it the SilverTowne guys, then headed for PCGS or NGC table for first day of issue designation.
Multiple guys buying 500 at a time.
Here goes a bunch.
They are not sold out they are still for sale at the ANA, do you think there will be any left to sell on the website when the ANA ends?
Those boxes looks like a 25 X 2 set case
38 per case
I heard that dealers that had 2000 for confirmed pickup at the ANA are now being told 500.
Yeah, Coin World is reporting a 500 limit at the ANA, 20 at the mint stores.
The Mint stores are sold out. The ANA probably will soon, too.
I was able to order the 2 sets I wanted. I'll brake one open for the cent, that will go Into my Lincoln cent collection.

Anyone pre-selling slabbed versions yet?
Watch the Coin Vault tonight
They are supposedly selling only slabbed versions tonight.

I saw approx. 20 unopened cases behind the PCGS table at the ANA this afternoon. Someone is doing some serious submitting.

I want to see how these grade. S-Mint sometimes does a fantastic job, sometimes, not so much.
